Birthday Shaker Card

Don't have time to color? Today Larissa shares an idea on how to create a colorful birthday card without spending time coloring! 

For this card she features the image of three kitties blinded by all the candles on the birthday cake from our Newton's Bright Birthday Stamp Set. She stamped the image in black and cut it out using the coordinating Newton's Bright Birthday Die Set. 

She leaves the image uncolored but uses a paper filled with colorful stripes from our Birthday Woofs Paper Pad to add color. She cuts the paper out using our Basic Frames Die Set to give it the banner shape and layers it behind the stamped image for an instant pop of color. Next she cuts a banner out of lime green cardstock using our Banner Trio Die Set and stamps the sentiment from our Birthday Roundabout Stamp Set onto the banner. 

She decides to add more color by creating a shaker pocket to layer behind the banner. She uses a clear sleeve and adds sparkle and color with purple, blue and sliver sequins inside the pocket. This adds color AND fun to the card!

To finish the card she layered the shaker panel over a blue scalloped card panel that was cut out using our Frames & Flags Die Set.  

We hope this card inspires you to try different ways to add color to your card. If you don't have time to color, bright cardstock colors,  patterned papers and sequins are the perfect way to brighten up a card!

Birthday Card with Partial Die Cutting by Farhana Sarker

Sky High Birthday Wishes!

Today Farhana is sharing a how to create a fun birthday card using our Sky High Celebrations Stamp Set and Petite Clouds Stencil. 

She started with a white card front panel and stamped the image from the Sky High Celebrations Stamp Set close to the right edge of the card. Then she lined up the coordinating die, cutting only one side of the image. She then cut the remaining part of the front of the card to detach the negative space above and below the image. The image was then colored with copic markers. She also added the Happy Birthday sentiment using the Birthday Roundabout Stamp Set. 

On the inside of the card she stenciled an edge of clouds using our Petite Clouds Stencil with blue ink and added the sentiment from the Sky High Celebrations Stamp Set into the center. 

When the card is closed you can see the cards from the inside!

Happy Birthday Card by Farhana Sarker

A Simple Happy Birthday!

Today Farhana is sharing a lovely clean and simple birthday card! 

This card features the adorable mouse from our Birthday Mice Stamp Set. She stamped the mouse onto her card front and then added color to the image with copic markers. She stamped and colored the birthday hat on a separate piece of cardstock and added onto the head of the mouse.

For the sentiment she used the word "happy" from our Happy Easter Die Set. She cut it directly out of her card front, next to the mouse. Then she blended pink and yellow ink on a  separate piece of paper and layered it behind the cut out word. So pretty! The word "birthday" was stamped below it from our Birthday Roundabout Stamp Set.

This quick and simple card is perfect for when you need to create a quick birthday wish!

Birthday Mice Card by Farhana Sarker

A MICE Birthday Celebration!

Today we're sharing an adorable mouse themed Birthday card by Farhana.

For this sweet birthday card Farhana features the adorable mice sharing a cupcake from our Birthday Mice Stamp Set. She colored the image in soft pastels and cut it out using the coordinating Birthday Mice Die Set. 

For her card she started with a white card base and used our Confetti Hot Foil Plate with silver foil to create a band of shimmery confetti across the front. Then she masked off the the top and bottom of the card and used distress inks to create a soft rainbow of color over the confetti! The colors she chose match the colors of the sprinkles on the cupcake so perfectly! 

Next, she stamped the "Happy Birthday"greeting from our Birthday Roundabout Stamp Set and cut it out into a banner shape using our Banner Duo Die Set. She tucked this greeting in next to the cupcake to complete the festive birthday feeling. A few shimmery gemstones complete the look!

Time to Celebrate! Birthday Card by Jennifer Jackson

A Birthday Celebration!

Hello! Jen here today with a super fun birthday card! If you're like me, you can never have too many birthday cards on hand so it's essential to take some time and make some for your collection! 

To create this celebratory card I started with the big circle image from our Birthday Roundabout Stamp Set. This image is jam packed with fun birthday icons and I colored them using copic markers in shades of teal, yellow, pink, and red. I cut the image out using our Circle Frames Die Set to give it a fun scalloped edge. 

For the card, I chose a yellow card base and added sparkly confetti over the top using our Confetti Stencil with a glittery texture paste. I love how much this sparkles! Then I layered the circle over the top wiht a strip of black and white striped washi tape and a red banner from our Frames & Flags Die Set behind it. I also cut a teal banner using our Banner Trio Die Set to hold the sentiment, embossed in white. I love this layering of pattern and color! A bit of white baker's twine adds a finishing touch.

Sunflower Birthday Card by Farhana Sarker

Fall Birthday Flowers!

Today we are sharing a beautiful birthday card by Farhana. This gorgeous floral card features sunflowers and leaves with fall colors that are perfect for sending to a friend who has a fall birthday!

For the flowers, she used the image of a cluster of sunflowers from our Sunflower Days Stamp Set. She colored them in shades of gold and brown with lovely bright green leaves. For her card she carefully hand cut the image out but if you don't like to fussy cut, there is a coordinating Sunflower Days Die Set available. 

For her card base she created a gorgeous background using purple and yellow inks. Over this background she added leaves using our Falling Leaves Stencil with some texture paste. This background is the perfect setting for the sunflower image!

She also added the sentiment "Happy Birthday" from the Birthday Roundabout Stamp Set. She stamped it onto a banner that was die cut using our Banner Trio Die Set. What a fun way to send a fall birthday greeting!

Smitten Kitten Birthday Tags by Samantha VanArnhem

A Kitten Birthday!

Today we have a fun trio of birthday tags created by Samantha! These adorable tags combine a few different NND products in a way that is super quick and easy! 

She started out by stamping the big circle image from our Birthday Roundabout Stamp Set and embossing it onto red, green and blue papers. This is a perfect way to create fun tone on tone backgrounds. Then she cut each image out using our Fancy Edges Tag Die Set. She also cut out three white tags and layered the colored layers on the top.  

For the cute kittens, she used three images from our Smitten Kittens Stamp Set. To color them, she left them mostly white and added light gray shading and pink ears! So cute! She used the coordinating Smitten Kittens Die Set to cut the kittens out and layered them onto each tag. For a finishing touch she added a birthday sentiment across the bottom of each tag from our Birthday Roundabout Stamp Set, stamping it in a coordinating color!

Kitty Cupcake Shaker Card by Amanda Wilcox

Time to Celebrate!

Nothing says Happy Birthday better than a cupcake! Today we are featuring a cupcake themed birthday by Amanda featuring our new Newton's Cupcake Stamp Set. She colored the image of the cupcake, giving it yummy pink frosting and adding gray spots to the kitty. Then she stamped the image again on polka dot patterned paper and fussy cut out the cupcake liner to layer on top. She also added a fun cherry on the top of the cupcake, adding gloss to it for extra shine! The images were cut out using the coordinating Newton's Cupcake Die Set.

Once the main image was complete she created a fun shaker shape to layer behind it using our Circle Frames Die Set to create the frame and filled it with yummy pastel sequins! Then she created a gorgeous cupcake background using our Cupcakes Stencil Set. This fun new stencil has three layers so it was easy to create the pattern in brown, pink and red. She then cut the stenciled panel out with our Frames & Flags Die Set to give it a fun scalloped edge. 

For a finishing touch she added the sentiment from our Birthday Roundabout Stamp Set, stamping it onto a pink banner that was die cut using our Banner Trio Die Set. This fun banner has score lines on each end so you can pop it up and give your card some extra dimension!

Slimline Birthday Card by Farhana Sarker

A Rainbow of Birthday Wishes!

Today we are sharing a gorgeous slimline birthday card by Farhana! This card features a fun rainbow of colors over hearts, perfect for a colorful birthday greeting. 

To create those lovely rainbow hearts, she stamped the floral image from our Heartfelt Blooms Stamp Set three times, embossing it with white embossing powder. The white embossed images resist the rainbow of ink applied over the top and create such a lovely effect! The hearts were cut out using the large stitched heart from our Heart Frames Die Set. 

For her card base, Farhana used the large slimline scallop edged frame from our Slimline Frames & Portholes Die Set. Then she added three birthday themed sentiments, combining words from our Birthday Roundabout Stamp Set and our Mom & Dad Stamp Set. Each sentiment was stamped and embossed onto a banner that was cut out using our Banner Trio Die Set.

Bold Birthday Dog Card by Samantha Van Arnhem

Bold Blue Dogs for a Birthday Greeting!

Today Samantha has created a birthday card that any dog lover would adore! She took the bold silhouette stamp of a dog from our Furr-ever Friends Stamp Set and stamped the image in rows using several shades of blue ink! What a fun look! To make this into a birthday card she used the "Happy Birthday" sentiment from our Birthday Roundabout Stamp Set and stamped it onto a stitched banner that was cut out using our Banner Trio Die Set. This card is so simple, yet stunning! 

You could easily change this card up by just switching the color palette to match the recipients favorite color too! What a great way to create a quick and simple birthday card for any dog lover on your list!

What we love about this card too is that this image is actually from a pet sympathy stamp set, but with a bit of creativity, Samantha shows us how easy it is to stretch your stamps for other occasions.

A Duo of Birthday Cards by April Guest Designer Mugdha Gujarathi

Hello Friends, Mugdha here. I can't believe that it's the fourth I monday of the month already. I really enjoyed making cards using Newton's nook products and sharing with you all. Today, I am going to share two cards, both of them are very different from each other!

I used Balloon shaker die for this card, you can use shaker dies in so many ways and not only for making shaker cards. I used a slimline panel of white cardstock and die cut out the big balloons from the Balloon Shaker Die Set, I also die cut the balloons of the vellum. I used polka dot pattern paper and adhered the white slimline panel on it, I then pasted the vellum balloons and stamped the sentiment "Happy Birthday" from Newton Celebrates stamp set. Lastly, adhered some sequins to finish off my card.

Here is my second card:

For this CAS masculine card, I used Birthday Roundabout stamp set. I stamped the beautiful image on black cardstock using versamark ink and heat embossed it with Ranger gold embossing powder and heat tool. I then die cut out the circle with the Circle Frames die set and adhered it on caramel brown cardstock using foam adhesive.

I stamped the sentiment "Happy birthday" on a strip of caramel brown paper and mounted it on the circle using foam adhesive. Lastly, I added some gold pearls to finish off my card.

Celebratory Butterfly Card by Amanda Wilcox

Newton Celebrates with Butterflies!

Today Amanda has created a gorgeous butterfly themed card that is perfect for celebrating any occasion! To create the beautiful shiny butterfly background she used our Butterflies Stencil Set. This stencil set is a two piece layering design so she used the first layer that has the butterfly silhouettes and added black ink. Then she used the second layer which includes the wing patterns to large orange foil onto the wings! So gorgeous!  She created this into a card base, framing it with a black scalloped edge that was die cut using our Frames & Flags Die Set and layering it over a purple card base. 

Next, she colored that cute image of the kitty chasing butterflies from the Newton's Flower Garden Stamp Set. She even coordinated the colors on the butterflies so that they match the background pattern and the flowers to match the card base. She cut the image out using the coordinating Newton's Flower Garden Die Set. Then she added the image to her card, layering it over a vellum heart that was cut out using our Heart Frames Die Set. 

The finishing touch is the sentiment "Time to Celebrate" which was stamped from our Birthday Roundabout Stamp Set onto a banner that was cut out using our Banner Trio Die Set.

Birthday Card Duo by Larissa Heskett

Easy Ink Blended Cards!

Today Larissa is featuring a beautiful set of ink blended cards! Not only are these cards gorgeous, they are also quick and easy to create. She started by stamping the large circle of flowers Floral Roundabout Stamp Set multiple times and embossing it with white embossing powder. Then she simply blended over it with colored ink.  She added some black paint splatters and sequins for texture and sparkle. For the sentiments, she chose two phrases from our Birthday Roundabout Stamp Set and stamped them onto rounded edge banners from our Banner Trio Die Set. Then she layered a coordinating patterned paper behind each panel, die cutting the scalloped edge with our Frames & Flags Die Set.

Ink blending like this looks so lovely and is perfect for creating cards for any occasion. Just change the sentiment or the stamped image and you can change the theme!
