Floral Thank You Card by Larissa Heskett

Beautiful Blooms for a Cheerful Thank You!

Today we are sharing a gorgeous thank you card by Larissa! She used a bunch of our favorite floral sets to create whole garden of blooms!  

Larissa cut out a stitched rectangle using our Basic Frames Die Set. She used this as a background for her main images, making it into a scene by inking the bottom in brown and the top in blue. She added fun blue and black paint splatters for a bit of texture. Then she added on all of her flowers to the scene. She stamped and colored flowers from several different sets. She used the beautiful bloom from our Hyacinth Stamp Set for the centerpiece of her garden. Then she added sunflowers on each side from our Autumn Fields Stamp Set. She also layered in a little tulip from our Easter Postage Sampler Stamp Set and little flowers and butterflies from Newton's Blooms Stamp Set.  This creates such a beautiful garden! 

Under all of the blooms she added the thank you sentiment from the Floral Roundabout Stamp Set. The message was stamped and embossed in white onto a black banner that was cut out using our Banner Trio Die Set

Last, she layered everything onto a fun blue check pattern from our Bright Basics Paper Pad. She cut the paper out using our Framework Die Set to give it the fun postage edge. What a beautiful floral card!

Gorgeous Tulip Card by Samantha Mann

Gorgeous Tulips! 

Today Samantha has created a stunning floral card featuring our Tulips Stamp Set. 

First, Samantha stamped the bundle of tulips from the Tulips Stamp Set multiple times. Then she colored all the beautiful blooms in shades of red and pink using watercolor markers and cut them out with the coordinating Tulips Die Set. So pretty! 

For the card base she inked along the right side of her card front using shades of green distress inks. She added some extra green ink splatters over the top of the green blend. Then she arranged all the tulips along the opposite side and bottom of the card, layering them over each other. She trimmed off any parts of the images that went beyond the card edge. She then added white paint splatters over the whole card, including the tulips. What a gorgeous effect! 

Last, she stamped embossed the sentiment "thinking of you" from the Floral Roundabout Stamp Set onto a black strip of paper and added that on the right side. 

This beautiful card would be perfect to send well wishes to a friend this spring!

Thinking of You Card by Amanda Wilcox

Thinking of You!

Have you ever colored on vellum? Today Amanda has created a beautiful floral card using vellum that is perfect for sending thoughtful wishes. 

She started our be stamping the large circle image filled with flowers using our Floral Roundabout Stamp Set onto a piece of vellum. She used Versamark ink and embossed the image in white. To emboss on vellum, just make sure you have a thick weight vellum paper. She cut the image out using the Circle Frames Die Set to give it the fun scalloped edge. Then she colroed the florals using copic markers. A tip from Amanda for coloring vellum is to choose a much darker, deeper color than you're looking for because the vellum lightens it considerably.

For her card, she started with a white card base and inked green leaves onto it using our Trailing Leaves Stencil. The leaves coordinate perfectly with the florals for a fun nature theme. Next, she used our A2 Card Layout Die Set with kraft colored cardstock to cut out the fun panels. She added some ink to the edges to give them a bit of dimension. Then she layered the vellum image on top. The finishing touch is the sentiment from our Floral Roundabout Stamp Set, which she embossed in white onto a banner that was cut out using our Banner Trio Die Set. The bright pink paper she used for the banner really makes it pop off the card!

Orchids Card by Samantha Mann

Beautiful Orchids! 

Do you love orchids? We always have an orchid in our house as they are one of our favorite flowers! Today we are sharing a gorgeous card by Samantha featuring our beautiful Orchids Stamp Set. She stamped the blooms twice so that she could combine them to create a lovely tall orchid. She colored the blooms in stunning shades of pink and used the coordinating Orchids Die Set to cut them out. 

For her card base she created a beautiful leafy background using our Trailing Leaves Stencil with distress inks. She layered the flowers on top and then added white paint splatters to the whole card front for a fun bit of texture. She also added a fun black and white washi tape up the side for a fun detail. 

For the card message she chose a sentiment from our Floral Roundabout Stamp Set and embossed it in white onto a banner that was die cut using our Banner Trio Die Set. Isn't it fun how this banner pops the sentiment up? So cool.

CatPURRccino Card by Amanda Wilcox

Cat PURR-ccino!

Love coffee and cats? Then you will love this card by Amanda!

This adorable kitty themed card features the image of Newton peeking out of a giant coffee mug from our Newton's Mug Stamp Set. This image has a blank mug but Amanda carefully masked off the edges and stamped the floral image from our Floral Roundabout Stamp Set to cover the mug in a flower pattern! Here's a closer look:

So cool! We love the idea of customizing this mug for any occasion by adding images to the front! She colored the image in fun soft colors and cut it out using the coordinating Newton's Mug Die Set. 

For her card base she used our Frames & Flags Die Set to cut out a piece of floral paper from our Spring Blooms Paper Pad and also a white scalloped frame. She layered these together to make a fun background for the mug. She also added that fun decorative square, cut from vellum, using our  Frames Squared Die Set. Love all the layers! 

To finish off this amazing card she adds the "cat PURR-ccino" sentiment from the Newton's Mug Stamp Set, adding it to the circle from the  Frames Squared Die Set. She also adds a cute clay heart embellishment and some lovely striped twine.

Inky Paws Challenge Team Guest Week - Sue Trembeth

This week we are featuring our Inky Paws Challenge Design Team!

Each day this week we will have a fun project featuring an IPC team member using some of their favorite Newton's Nook Designs products! These awesome designers share projects each Monday inspired by the challenges over at our Inky Paws Challenge blog so make sure to visit them over there too and get inspired to play along with us and our Inky Paws Challenges! 

Today we are featuring a project by Sue Trembeth!  

 Sue created this sweet kitty card featuring our Cat Silhouettes Die Set:

This sweet kitty card by Sue would be perfect for sending a note to a friend who lost their pet to let them know they are in your thoughts! To create this card she started out by using our Retro Sun & Palms Stencil Set and inking the stripes in the sunset in a rainbow of colors. She then cut the image out using our Heart Frames Die Set to create that wonderful rainbow heart. What a wonderful idea! 

In front of the heart she added a black kitty silhouette using our Cat Silhouettes Die Set.

For the card base she dry embossed a panel of hearts using our Tumbling Hearts Stencil and pressing it through a die cutting machine. Then she cut the panel out with our Frames & Flags Die Set to give it a scalloped and stitched edge. She also added the "thinking of you" sentiment from our Floral Roundabout Stamp Set, stamped onto a banner that was die cut using our Banner Trio Die Set. Keeping all the background elements white really makes that kitty and rainbow pop! 

She also added a note to the inside of the card:

The paw prints are from our  Cat-itude Stamp Set and the "with love" is from our Heartfelt Roses Stamp Set. 

What a purr-fect way to send caring thoughts to someone. You could also switch this to a dog theme simply by using a dog from our Dog Silhouettes Die Set instead of the cat.

Thanks So Much Card by Larissa Heskett

Kitty Thank You! 

Today we are a card by Larissa that is PURRfect for sending a thank you note to a cat lover. 

This adorable card features the adorable duo of kitties in a flower pot from our Newton's Blooms Stamp Set. She colored the kitties in soft neutrals with Siamese kitty markings. So cute! Then she colored the blooms in a variety of pretty colors and added little rounded gems and pearls to the flower centers.  She added white gel pen details too for an extra special touch! she also stamped and colored two bees and a tiny bloom from the same set to add to her card. The images were cut out using the coordinating Newton's Blooms Die Set.

She created a scene simply by masking an edge and inking green along the bottom and blue along the top. The sentiment "thanks so much" is from our  Floral Roundabout Stamp Set. She added some black paint splatters and sparkly gems and then layered the image over a purple scalloped panel. The purple scallops were cut out using a piece of paper from our Springtime Paper Pad with our Frames & Flags Die Set. 

What a wonderful way to say thank you!

Mother's Day Card by Farhana Sarker

Happy Mother's Day! 

Have you thought about Mother's Day yet? Today we are sharing a card by Farhana that would be sure to make any mother smile!

For her card she features that gorgeous bunch of blooms from our  Daffodils Stamp Set, coloring them in shades of cheery yellow. She used the coordinating Daffodils Die Set to cut the image out and layered it over a fun shaker card window! 

To create this shaker card, she first used our Floral Roundabout Stamp Set and embossed the big round image in white. She inked over it with a blending of several ink colors for that gorgeous background. 

Next she cut created a white card front with subtle texture by dry embossing with our  Basketweave Stencil. She then cut a large circle out of this panel using our Circle Frames Die Set, which perfectly frames that floral inked background. She made this into a shaker window and added pretty sequins inside that coordinated with the colors! So beautiful! 

The finishing touch is the "Happy Mother's Day" sentiment, stamped from our Mom & Dad Stamp Set onto a stitched banner that was die cut using our Banner Trio Die Set.

You are Amazing Shaker Card by Larissa Heskett

 

Amazing Shaker! 

Today we are sharing a large shaker card by Larissa that is filled with fun! 

For this card she used the large scalloped frame from our new A7 Frames & Banners Die Set. This frame is perfectly sized to fit on a 5x7 card base. She used the die to cut out that fun houndstooth pattern from our Love & Meows Paper Pad. Then she layered her shaker panel over the top, filled with confetti hearts, sequins and "xoxo" letters. How fun! The background of this fun panel is also filled with hearts, stenciled in teal using our Petite Hearts Stencil. To finish it off, she added the sentiment "You are amazing" from our Floral Rounabout Stamp Set, embossed in teal onto the rounded banner shape from the A7 Frames & Banners Die Set. 

What a gorgeous card! And I bet it's super fun to shake around too!

Winter Thank You Card by Larissa Heskett

 

Farm Friends Say Thank You! 

Today we have a lovely card by Larissa that reminds us to continue to use those holiday stamps after the holidays for warm winter thank you cards! What a great idea!

Her card today features that adorable stack of farm animals donned in scarves from our Dairy Christmas Stamp Set. She colored these cute farm friends using bright cheerful winter colors using copic markers. Don't you just love that rainbow scarf and blanket!? She also added pink to their cheeks and glitter to the brims of the hats. White gel pen accents really add more fun detail too! She cut the image out using the coordinating Dairy Christmas Die Set to add to her card. 

For her card, she made a simple blue sky and added snowflake sequins. She added the "Thanks so much" sentiment from the Floral Roundabout Stamp Set, stamped onto a white banner that was die cut using our Banner Trio Die Set. 

She also created a background panel using a gingham print paper from our Meowy Christmas Paper Pad and cutting it out with our Frames & Flags Die Set to give it the fun scalloped edge.

Kitty Themed Thank You Card by Amanda Wilcox

Kitty Themed Thank You!

Today we are sharing a kitty themed card by Amanda that is purr-fect for sending a special note of thanks!  

For this adorable card, Amanda started out by stamping the sweet duo of kittens from our Smitten Kittens Stamp Set. She colored them to look like her own two cats and used the coordinating Smitten Kittens Die Set to cut the image out. 

For the card background she used our Bokeh Hearts Stencil Set to create a gorgeous bokeh pattern using shades of blue ink with the two piece stencil set. Then she added the sentiment "thanks so much" from our Floral Roundabout Stamp Set, stamped onto a pink banner that was cut out using our Banner Trio Die Set.

To add more of feline theme, she also added the sentiment "you're the cat's meow" from the Smitten Kittens Stamp Set.She stamped it inside a speech bubble that was cut out using our Speech Bubbles Die Set.  Some white paint splatters and heart embellishments add the perfect finishing touches!

I Just Plane Like You! Circular Easel Card by Amanda Wilcox

I Just Plane Like You!

Today Amanda has created a fun card featuring that cute bear driving an airplane from our Winston Takes Flight Stamp Set. This set has several sentiments that fit inside the banner behind the plane and Amanda has chosen to use "I just PLANE like you!" She colored the cute bear in his plane with copic markers in fun shades of teal and salmon pink. So cute! To cut the images out she used the coordinating Winston Takes Flight Die Set. Behind Winston, she created a sky using our new Petite Clouds Stencil with light blue flock. This adds such a fun fuzzy effect to those clouds!

For the card, she created a circular easel card using our Circle Frames Die Set. She simply cut the large scalloped circle out multiple times, adding folds so that when you open the card up, you can keep it in a standing position.

Here is a side view so you can see how it looks opened up:

The strip along the bottom is popped up using a dimensional so that it holds the card in place! She also added the "you are amazing" sentiment onto this strip using our Floral Roundabout Stamp Set.
