Friends Fur-ever Card by July Guest Designer Rachel Alvarado

Hello friends! It's Rachel here with a new post featuring some adorable images from the Puppy Pals Stamp Set.

Friends Fur-ever Puppy Card by July Guest Designer Rachel Alvarado | Puppy Pals Stamp Set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook #handmade

I wanted the focal point of my card to be the two pups so I kept my card rather clean and simple.  To start, I stamped my images onto a sheet of Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 110lb Card Stock with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, colored them with Copic alcohol markers, and used the coordinating Puppy Pals Die Set to cut them out. (All Copic colors that I used are listed at the bottom of this post).

I then set these images aside and next created my card background. I trimmed a piece of white card stock to 4.25" x 11" and scored it on the long side at 5.5" to create a top-folding A2 card base.  I then trimmed a piece of blue patterned paper from the Sunny Studio Stamps Dots & Stripes Pastel Paper Pad to 4.25" x 5.5" and adhered it to the top of my folding card base. Next, I die cut a piece of smooth white card stock with the stitched rounded rectangle die from the Frames & Flags Die Set and lightly blended it with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink.

I then stamped my sentiment on the bottom center of my card and adhered this piece to my card base with some 3D Foam Adhesive Tape for added dimension. Lastly, I added my images with some more 3D Foam Adhesive Tape for even more dimension.

Thank You Card Duo by July Guest Designer Ildi Imrefalvi

Thank you. Twice.
Preparing for my guest designing I've made a bunch of sketches for the cards I planned to
create for Newton's Nook in July. Almost a dozen. As I realized that the end of the month is
near and there's only one blogpost to go, I tried to narrow and pick my favorite sketch to
make, but somehow I couldn't decide between two, so here they are :)

Thank You Card Duo by July Guest Designer Ildi Imrefalvi | Peony Blooms Stamp Set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook #handmadeFor my first card I stamped the floral elements of the set ‘Peony Blooms’ onto masking paper
and cut them out. After stamping the first flower I covered it with masking paper then went
for the next one. I stamped the images repeatedly making sure that the surrounding flowers
are covered with masking paper.

Thank You Card Duo by July Guest Designer Ildi Imrefalvi | Peony Blooms Stamp Set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook #handmade

I created a diagonal shape with the peonies leaving the bottom right area white. I coloured everything with Tombow markers and splattered white acrylic paint all over when it dried. To finish my card I stamped my sentiment with black ink and adhered the finished panel onto a deep blue card base.

For my monochromatic card I picked this adorable dog duo from the Puppy Pals stamp set as the center image and stamped it onto a card sized Copic friendly paper. The rest was just coloring with warm greys.

Creating monochromatic cards is really relaxing as there's no need to think about which colors to pick. This card just needed six markers and a white gel pen. I usually use a bunch of tools to create my cards so it's fun to make something interesting with supplies fit my pocket :)

Thank you for inviting me, it's been wonderful to be a guest designer for Newton's Nook and I have had so much fun creating cards with these adorable products.

Thank you for reading my posts, I hope you liked my creations!

Adorable Puppy Cards by Andrea Shell

Adorable Puppy Cards by Andrea Shell | Terrific Terriers, Puppy Pals and Say Woof Stamp Sets and Woof Stencil by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook #handmade

Puppy Love!

Do you love puppies? Today we are sharing TWO adorable puppy cards by Andrea today! Both of these creations feature our some of our new dog themed products along with adorable images from two of our favorite dog stamp sets!

Adorable Puppy Card by Andrea Shell | Puppy Pals and Say Woof Stamp Sets, Pawprint Shaker Die and Woof Stencil by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook #handmade
For the first card she created a fun little scene using the two pups sharing a bone from our Puppy Pals Stamp Set. She colored them using fun bright colors and added in sky and grass too. Then she created a layer of red using distress inks and cut a big pawprint out of it to frame the scene! The pawprint is from our Pawprint Shaker Die Set. Then she added the cute little sentiment from our Say Woof Stamp Set in the corner, adding it into a circle and making it look like a dog tag!

For her second card she featured that adorable pup from our Terrific Terriers Stamp Set. She colored that cute pup with copics, adding strokes to a fun hair texture! She cut the image out using the Terrific Terriers Die Set. She layered it over the big pawprint that was cut out of the previous card using our Pawprint Shaker Die Set. For the background she created a fun dog themed panel of pattern using our Woof Stencil with red ink and gave it a fun decorative edge using our Frames & Flags Die Set. She also added the cute sentiment from our Say Woof Stamp Set in the corner, embossing it with white on a black circle.

Which card is your favorite? Both are so cute I can't decide!

Thank you, Andrea, for the adorable puppy cards today! To see more fun creations by Andrea, you can visit her over at her blog, Blissfully Scrappy too!

Two Puppy Pals Cards by May Guest Designer Anika Mercier

Hi Everyone!

It's always nice to send someone special a sweet card to show them you care or to thank them for their kindness. I absolutely love the Puppy Pals Stamp Set  since it has the perfect sentiments for both occasions and a super sweet image to match! Today I'm sharing two cards I made with this stamp set one is a thank you card and the other is perfect for a special friend.

Two Puppy Pals Cards by May Guest Designer Anika Mercier | Puppy Pals Stamp Set, Plaid Stencil Set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook #handmade

Card One

Background
Over the winter Newton's Nook Designs released two AMAZING stencils Plaid Stencil Set and Argyle Stencil Set which I absolutely love! I really wanted to use the Plaid Stencil Set on my cards since I think it adds so much interest and dimension. The super neat thing about these stencils is they have a very light etching on their surface so it's easy to line them up and have perfect inking every time.

I taped down a piece of Neenah Solar White cardstock and used Tumble Glass Distress Oxide ink for my first stencil layer. Next, I lined up the second stencil (super easy due to the etching) and inked it with Cracked Pistachio Distress Oxide ink. I love how these two colors look together such a soft and happy spring combo.

Image
I stamped the Puppy Pals image onto a panel I cut using MFT's Stitched Tag Corner Rectangle dies and then colored it with Copic markers. For the ground and sky instead of using Copics, I thought it'd be fun to create the suggestion instead of a more literal interpretation. So, I inked the bottom of the die cut with Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide ink to give an impression of grass and then inked to top with Tumble Glass Distress Oxide ink to give an impression of the sky.

Puppy Pals Cards by May Guest Designer Anika Mercier | Puppy Pals Stamp Set, Plaid Stencil Set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook #handmade

Sentiments
For this card, I wanted to use both friendship sentiments in the Puppy Pals Stamp Set. I thought it would be fun to add a pop of color so I silver heat embossed the first sentiment onto soft yellow cardstock. For the second sentiment, I silver heat embossed it onto a soft blue cardstock which also matches the card base. I popped both sentiments up with foam tape and positioned them around the image making sure they were a bit wonky to give them some pop and to draw the eye to the pups.

Finish Touches
To finish off the card I added Glossy Accents over the pups eyes and Black Glaze pen to their noses. Lastly, I added Nuvo Crystal Drops in Duck Egg Blue and Simply White around the card panel.

Card Two

This card is made virtually the same way as the card above with a few exceptions.

Puppy Pals Cards by May Guest Designer Anika Mercier | Puppy Pals Stamp Set, Plaid Stencil Set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook #handmade

Background
While I did use the Plaid Stencil Set for this card too however instead of using each stencil once I used one of the stencils twice which makes the pattern even stronger. I love that about these stencils you can layer and layer them to get different looks.

On this card, I used a combination of dye inks: Lawn Fawn's No. 2 Pencil, Lawn Fawn's Doe, and Altenew's Citrus Burst.

Image
Here again, I colored the Puppy Pals image using Copics but this time to give the die cut an illusion of sky and ground I used Faded Jeans and Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide inks.

Sentiment
I wanted this card to be a thank you card so I used that sentiment from the Puppy Pals stamp set. I think it makes for such a sweet thank you card!

Finish Touches
To finish off the card I added Black Glaze pen to the pups eyes and noses and went over the tags on their collars with Glossy Accents.

I hope you enjoyed both cards. I'd love to know which is your favorite so please comment below!
