SEAS the day!

Today Maria has created a fun underwater greeting that will inspire you to SEAS the day! 

For this fun card she combined two sets from our Retirement Sale. First, she used the cute manatee duo from our Manatee-rific Stamp Set. She stamped and colored them in neutral hues. Aren't they adorable? 

Next, she created an underwater scene for these friends. She started by masking off a circle and ink blending inside it. Then she added some bubbles and splashes, stamped using our retiring Tranquil Tides Stamp Set. On the lower right she added a couple of bold coral images, also stamped from our Tranquil Tides Stamp Set and cut out using the Tranquil Tides Die Set.  

The finishing touch is the sentiment "SEAS the DAY" stamped from the Tranquil Tides Stamp Set along with some pretty pearls.

Get Carried Away Card by Maria Russell

Get Carried Away!

Today we are getting carried away with this adorable card created by Maria! 

This card features the ballon filled image from our Sky High Celebrations Stamp Set. She colored the image in loads of fun bright colors and used the coordinating Sky High Celebrations Die Set to cut it out. 

For her card base she divided the front of the card into two panels. She used a thin strip of polka dot paper from the A Dog's Life Paper Pad to separate the two sides. On the right side she stenciled layers of clouds using our Clouds Stencil to create a sky setting for the balloon image to float away in. She added the sentiment "Get carried away" also from the Sky High Celebrations Stamp Set.

On the left side she added a bold pattern using the splash from our Tranquil Tides Stamp Set with light blue ink. Isn't it fun how the splash looks like a cloud when it's added to the sky? So cool!

You're the Only Fish in the Sea for Me Card by Maria Russell

Slimline Sea Scene!

Slimline cards are so perfect for creating fun scenes! Today we are sharing a fabulous underwater scene card by Maria featuring the bold aquatic images from our Tranquil Tides Stamp Set. 

To create this fun scene, Maria used the large scallop edged slimline rectangle from our Slimline Frames & Portholes Die Set. Then she masked off the edge outside the stitched border and used our Waves Stencil to create waves and our Hills & Grass Stencil Set to create sandy underwater hills. She stamped the fish from ourTranquil Tides Stamp Set, cutting them out by hand and adding gloss over them for a fun shiny look. She added them to her underwater scene.  Then she stamped the coral and bubbles from our Tranquil Tides Stamp Set over the background using bright colored inks so that the images pop off the background. She added the sentiment "You are the only fish in the sea for me" in the upper corner with black ink. Then she added a few sequins for a bit of finishing sparkle!

Two Sea Themed Cards by Maria Russell

Seas the Day!

Today we are sharing a duo of cards by Maria featuring our fun Tranquil Tides Stamp Set! These sea themed cards are perfect for sending cool wishes on a hot day!

For her first card, shown above, she use the images of the crab and starfish from the Tranquil Tides Stamp Set. She repeat stamps them in a row, with red and blue ink. She then cut out the one crab using a circle from our Circle Frames Die Set and added the sentiment in black over the crab! So cute! She adds this strip with a black border onto her white card base for a fun and simple card layout! 

For her second card, she created a a gorgeous sea of fish and coral using our Tranquil Tides Stamp Set:

She created a stripe of sea themed fun using several of the images from our Tranquil Tides Stamp Set in different colors. She added a frame of white over the top, adding curved die cuts using our Land Borders Die Set. 

Then she stamped a trio of fish in yellow, a duo of pink starfish and a red crab and cut them out using the Tranquil Tides Die Set. These fun images layered over the background give a fun bit of dimension to the layout! She adds the sentiment in black and a few bubbles to finish it off! 

What a fun way to use the same stamp set to make two very different but equally fun cards!

Newton's Nook Designs & Wow Embossing Powder Inspiration Week - Day 4 with Nakaba & Andrea

Newton's Nook Designs and WOW embossing powders are collaborating all week long to offer you inspiration using their products together! Both design teams will be sharing fun ways to use embossing powders on your projects using WOW embossing powders paired with Newton's Nook Designs stamps! 

Today we are featuring projects by Nakaba and Andrea! 

First up we are sharing a fun sparkly sea themed card by Nakaba: 

For her card Nakaba created a glittery under the sea scene. She started by creating a fun blue background with distress inks. Then she used our Waves Stencil. She inked over the stencil using an embossing ink pad and then added the Vintage Romance embossing glitter powder from WOW! She then stamped  the coral, seahorse and starfish using our Tranquil Tides Stamp Set and embossed them using Mint Macaroon and Avocado color blend embossing powders from WOW! for the blue and green. She also used the Vintage Romance embossing powder from WOW! for the pink coral. All the images were cut out using the coordinating Tranquil Tides Die Set. For the sentiment, she used a seashell shape that was cut out using the Tranquil Tides Die Set and embossed the sentiment on it using Opaque Seafoam White embossing powder from WOW! The sand dollar image is also from the Tranquil Tides Stamp Set and was embossed using the Opaque Seafoam White embossing powder from WOW! What a shimmer and shine make this underwater scene so magical!

 Next, we have gorgeous autumn themed card by Andrea:

To create this adorable Autumn scene Andrea used the mouse chasing leaves from our Autumn Mice Stamp Set. She colored the image in fun Fall colors and then cut it out with the coordinating Autumn Mice Die Set, adding it to a circle with a little blue halo around the image. She added the little "Happy Fall" sentiment from our Fall Fringe Stamp Set. Then she created a bunch of gorgeous fall leaves using our Autumn Leaves Die Set. She covered the die cut leaves with embossing ink and then embossed them using Inca Glintz, Rose Glintz and Mayan Glintz embossing powders from WOW! The leaves have such an amazing sparkle and sheen to them! For the square with the rounded corners she used our Frames Squared Die Set. 

Next up, she created a lovely Christmas card:

For her card Andrea die cut an ornament shape using our Ornament Shaker Die Set. She covered the ornament top with embossing ink and used Metallic Platinum embossing powder from WOW! to give it the shiny gold finish. She stamped the sentiment from our Ornamental Wishes Stamp Set and also embossed that with the Metallic Platinum embossing powder from WOW! on the center of the ornament. For the background she used our Snowfall Stencil to create a lovely snow background pattern. She inked over the stencil using an embossing ink pad and then added the Singing in the Rain embossing glitter powder from WOW! The scallop edged panel was die cut using our Frames & Flags Die Set. What a gorgeous Holiday greeting!

Salty Wishes Card by Maria Russell

Under the Sea!

Today Maria created this amazing under the sea scene! She stamped the fish and coral in several fun bright colors using our Tranquil Tides Stamp Set and cut them out using the coordinating Tranquil Tides Die Set. She added some glossy accents on the fish to make them shiny! So cool! For her underwater scene she created a fun blue background with lots of added bubbles and a sandy bottom using the curvy hill from our Land Borders Die Set. Then she layered all the fish and coral on top to create the lovely scene! She also added the sentiment "Salty kisses & Starfish wishes" from the Tranquil Tides Stamp Set on the bottom. Isn't this scene so pretty?

Under the Sea Card by Nina- Marie & a Fond Farewell

Under the Sea Scene with Nina-Marie

Today we are sharing this amazing under sea scene by Nina-Marie! She created this awesome scene by stamping the fish from our Tranquil Tides stamp set in dye ink and then stamping over them with an embossing ink! By doing this, she was able to create the blended inks over the top without effecting the bright colors of the fish! What a fun idea! I love how the scene has so much dimension with all the layers of ink - it's hard to believe it's only one layer!

I am sad to say that this card marks the LAST post for Nina-Marie as part of our Design Team at Newton's Nook Designs! We have really enjoyed having her on our Team for the last year  -  and we loved her cards even before she was on our team! She has some AMAZING coloring skills and creates the most gorgeous scenes with our cute critter stamps! We are definitely not saying goodbye for good - we hope she can pop in occasionally to inspire us! Meanwhile, you can always visit her over at her blog - Nina-Marie Design - to visit and keep up with her amazing work!

SEAS the Day Card by Danielle Pandeline

SEAS the Day!

Get ready for some summer fun with this fun card today by Danielle.  She stamped the crab and the fun water splashes and bubbles from our Tranquil Tides stamp set onto a white background. She added the "SEAS the DAY" sentiment, also from this set. That red and teal really pop off the white background. What a fun an simple way to make an awesome summer card! I love that color combo of red and teal - and the ribbon gives it the perfect finishing touch!

Shark Week Day 5 - Jess & Larissa

Welcome to Shark Week - Day 5!

Have you enjoyed our Shark week? Today is the LAST day!

Larissa created a fun scene for her shark using some coral and fish from our Tranquil Tides stamp set too! Isn't it awesome how the bright coral contrasts with the blue water background? Plus I bet it's so fun to play with this card and spin that shark around in the slider!
