Halloween Inspiration Week - Day 1 - Samantha & Maria

This week Newton's Nook Designs is getting ready for Halloween with a fun Inspiration week! 

All week the NND Design Team will be sharing inspiration using some of their favorite Halloween products to get you in the mood for tricks and treats! Today we are starting the week out with projects today by Samantha Mann and Maria Russell!

Samantha created a sweet Halloween card using pinks and oranges along with some of our favorite Halloween products!

For this adorable creation she paired the images of pets and pumpkins from our Newton's Boo-tiful Night Stamp Set and Pug-kin Stamp Sets. She colored both images using zig watercolor markers and colored some of the pumpkins a fun, unexpected, pink! She cut the images out using the coordinating Newton's Boo-tiful Night Die Set and Pug-kin Die Set.

For her card background she added more pinks to the sky using distress inks across the top of her card panel. Then she added pretty pumpkins using the pumpkin base and stem layers from our 3 piece Jack-o'-lantern Stencil Set. This stencil also includes jack-o-lantern faces but it's awesome how you can use it without the faces for a fun new look! The finishing touch on her card is the sentiment from the Newton's Boo-tiful Night Stamp Set, embossed in white on black cardstock and hand cut out to add onto the card.

Maria created a treat tag that is perfect for dressing up a halloween candy box! 

For this fun tag, Maria started out by creating a tag using our Fancy Edges Tag Die Set. She cut the tag from white, orange and yellow cardstock. Then she cut the yellow and orange tag again using the fun zig zag border that is is included in this die set, layering the colors to look like candy corn! So cute!

Next, she stamped the adorable kitty in the boot from our Witchy Newton Stamp Set and colored it in fun bright Halloween colors. She colored the kitty a light gray and added speckles to the fur for a fun effect! The image was cut out using the coordinating Witchy Newton Die Set  and layered onto the 

For the sentiment she stamped "best witches" from the Witchy Newton Stamp Set. She also added the Trick or Treat Die cut from our  Halloween Trio Die Set. The finishing touch is some pretty ribbon and black and orange twine. What a fun way to dress up a Halloween treat!

Happy Halloween Cat and Dog Card by Tina Herbeck

Happy Halloween!

Today Tina has created cute Halloween card that features a cute dog and kitty together in a spooky Halloween setting! 

To create this fun duo of Halloween friends, she used the image of the puppy from our Pug-kin Stamp Set paired with the kitty from our Trick or Treat Kittens Stamp Set. Don't these two images go perfectly together!? She colored both of them, adding fun shading and patterns to their fur and to the pumpkins. She also stamped and colored some candy from the Trick or Treat Kittens Stamp Set and a small jack-o-lantern treat tote from the Count Newton Stamp Set. The images were then cut out using the coordinating dies to add to her scene (Pug-kin Die Set,  Trick or Treat Kittens Die Set, Count Newton Die Set).

For the background she used trees from our Frames & Flags Die Set to create a scallop edged panel to hold the scene. On each side of the panel she embossed a spooky tree silhouette from our Spooky Street Stamp Set in black. Then she ink blended a spooky sky between the two trees with gray, purple and orange inks. She embossed the "Happy Halloween" sentiment from the Trick or Treat Kittens Stamp Set in the center. She cut out a hill using our Land Borders Die Set and inked it up with shades of gray and set our friends on top of it to complete this spooky scene! So adorable!

Halloween Shaker Card by Amanda Wilcox

Shaking Up a Happy Halloween!

Today Amanda is shaking things up with an adorable Halloween themed shaker card! This fun card uses a bunch of of our favorite fall and Halloween themed products together!

The main star of this card is that cute pug puppy from the new Pug-kin Stamp Set. He's so adorable popping his head out of the pumpkin! She colored this image and cut it out using the coordinating Pug-kin Die Set. She also colored a bunch of pumpkins and leaves from the Paw-tumn Newton Stamp Set to surround the cute little pup! These were cut out using the coordinating Paw-tumn Newton Die Set. The added white gel pen accents really add a fun detail! She also used our Land Borders Die Set to create a hill as a setting for the Pug and pumpkins!  

For the shaker window she used our Framework Die Set to create the yellow postage edged panel. Then she used our Frames & Flags Die Set to cut out the inner window to make it into a frame. Behind the frame, a panel of stenciled leaves created with our Falling Leaves Stencil makes the perfect background! She filled the shaker window with fall colored seed beads, that make a fun rustling sound when you shake it. The finishing touch is the "Happy Halloween" sentiment, stamped from our new Spooky Roundabout Stamp Set onto a banner that was cut out using our Banner Trio Die Set. All these elements combine perfectly for a lovely Halloween card!

Maria created this fantastic Halloween card featuring our new Knight Owl Stamp Set! This fun layout includes three circles cut out using our Circle Frames Die Set. She added purple clouds behind the owl using our Clouds Stencil and black grass using our Land Borders Die Set. Behind the other circles she added yellow distress ink with bats and the "Trick or Treat" die cut form our Halloween Trio Die Set. These items combine perfectly for a fun Halloween card! 

Andrea created a playful Halloween card combining several new products. She created a fun purple and black web background using our new Spiderweb Stencil. She added the adorable pug in a pumpkin from the new Pug-kin Stamp Set. The sentiment is from our new Batty Newton Stamp Set and fits into a banner cut out with our Banner Trio Die Set. The stitched rectangle shape was cut out using our Frames & Flags Die Set.

Amanda created a scene that is fitting for this owl in knight armor! She colored the image from our Knight Owl Stamp Set and added trees around him using our Forest Scene Builder Die Set and grass using our Land Borders Die Set. The starry background was created using our Cascading Stars Stencil. She paired the Knight-Owl sentiment with "thinking of you" from the new Heartfelt Essentials Stamp Set. She also used our Framework Die Set and Frames & Flags Die Set for the stitched and postage edge frames. 

Larissa created this adorable Halloween card featuring the pug from the new Pug-kin Stamp Set. Isn't he so cute popping out of the pumpkin? She added a distress inked sky behind him and a couple of bats from the Halloween Trio Die Set. The patterned paper frame was cut out with the Frames & Flags Die Set to give it a scalloped edge. She also used the Gingham Stencil on the envelope flap. 

Amy created this charming card with the new Knight Owl Stamp Set. She colored the armor on the owl with pops of purple to match her card base. The layers of white, purple and gray were cut out using the Framework Die Set. She added pattern to the gray layer using our new Houndstooth Stencil. The sentiment was added onto a banner from our Banner Trio Die Set. 

This whimsical Halloween card was created by Tatiana. She stacked three images from the Pug-kin Stamp Set with the pug peeking out of the top one. In the background she added webs using our new Spiderweb Stencil. She also added the sentiment to a little banner from our Banner Trio Die Set and added more flags using our Frames & Flags Die Set. 

Zsofia created a whole castle scene for her owls! She added two owls in armor from the Knight Owl Stamp Set onto the castle and aded a custom sentiment in the sky by cutting letters using our Essential Alphabet Die Set. So adorable!

Samantha created this adorable Halloween card featuring a pair of pugs! She used the larger pug from our Pug Hugs Stamp Set and paired it with the smaller pug in the pumpkin from our new Pug-kin Stamp Set. She also combined sentiments from both sets to complete the theme! She added a scene behind this duo using our Land Borders Die Set and Fence Die Set. The bats in the sky are from the new Batty Newton Stamp Set. 

Ellen created a card that is perfectly fitting for the knight theme! She used the owl in knights armor from our Knight Owl Stamp Set and created a tiny scene for him on the small decorative square from our Frames Squared Die Set. She added clouds using our Sky Scene Builders Die Set and a branch using our What a Hoot Stamp Set. For the background she used our Houndstooth Stencil with sparkly blue texture paste for a fun and regal look. She added the scalloped border and the flag that holds the sentiment using our Frames & Flags Die Set.
