Happy Brr-thday!

Today we are featuring a fun cold weather birthday card by Amanda that is sure to brighten and cold day!

To create this adorable card she started by stamping and coloring the adorable kitty creating a snow angel from our Snow Angel Newton Stamp Set! Isn't he adorable!?  She cut the image out using the coordinating Snow Angel Newton Die Set.

Next, she created a fun snow filled card with two layers of snowy patterns. For the bottom layer she created white on white snow with dimension using our Snowfall Stencil with white sparkly texture paste over white cardstock! So pretty! She cut this panel out using our Frames & Flags Die Set to give it that fun scalloped edge. 

For the next layer she embossed the snowflake filled circle from our Snowfall Roundabout Stamp Set in white and added a rainbow of ink colors over the top! That fun pop of color is so unexpected for a winter card like this and we think it will definitely make the recipient smile!  She cut this image out using our Circle Frames Die Set. 

To make this into a fun birthday card, she added the sentiment "Happy BRR-thday!" from our Snowman Roundabout Stamp Set and cut it out using our Banner Trio Die Set. We love that she added purple into the word letters BRR too! The bright colors on this card are sure to make any winter birthday feel cheerful!

Magical Snow Globe Card by Zsofia Molnar

Merry Christmas!

There is something so magical about a snow globe during the holidays! Zsofia captures that magic on this beautiful Christmas card today! 

For this gorgeous card she first created a snowy circle using the big snow filled circle image from our Snowfall Roundabout Stamp Set. She stamped the image with Versamark ink and embossed it in white. Then she ink blended soft blues over the top. She cut the image our using the large stitched circle die from our Circle Frames Die Set.  She next stamped the image of the horse and carriage from our Winter Memories Stamp Set and cut it out using the coordinating Winter Memories Die Set. Before adding this image to the circle she also cut out a snowy hill using our Land Borders Die Set to cut out a hill from glittery cardstock. Then she added this image the horse and carriage on top. To make this all into a snowglobe she added the bottom from our Snow Globe Shaker Die Set, cutting it from a shiny silver paper. So pretty! The sentiment was stamped into the sky, using a phrase from our Winter Memories Stamp Set.  What a gorgeous combination of images!

To complete the card, she cut out a scalloped rectangle using our Frames & Flags Die Set. Then she layered it over a piece of peppermint striped paper from our Meowy Christmas Paper Pad. The sentiment "Merry Christmas" was added to the bottom from our Heartfelt Holidays Stamp Set.

Magic of Christmas Card by Jennifer Jackson

Holiday Magic!

Hello! Jen here again today and I'm sharing a card that is filled with holiday magic! There is something magical about walking through the snow, especially if you tie it in with bringing home the holiday tree, and that is what this card is all about. 

To create this card I started by stamping the image of the two kids hauling a Christmas tree behind them on a sled from our Holiday Home Stamp Set. I colored the image using bright watercolor markers and then cut it out using the coordinating Holiday Home Die Set.  

Next, I stamped and embossed the big circle of snowflakes from our Snowfall Roundabout Stamp Set using white embossing powder. Then I inked over it with shades of blue distress inks and cut it out using our Circle Frames Die Set to create that awesome background circle. 

For the card layout, I used our  Framework Die Set to create the big rectangle with the postage edge and then layered the snowy circle and children with the tree over the top. I left room along the bottom for the large sentiment, stamped from our Holiday Home Stamp Set. 

I just love how this came together! It's so fun to mix and match dies and stamps to create scenes! I hope you have enjoyed this project today and are inspired to create some snowy scenes of your own!

Snowman Card Duo by Zsofia Molnar

Winter Snowmen!

Today we are sharing a wonderful winter card duo by Zsofia featuring some of our favorite winter stamps!

She combined images from our Frosty Folks Stamp Set and Snowfall Roundabout Stamp Set for these cozy winter cards. 

She started out by cutting two panel of kraft cardstock using our Framework Die Set to give them a nice postage stamped edge and stitching. Then she used the big circle of snowflakes from our Snowfall Roundabout Stamp Set and embossed it in white on each of the kraft card panels. 

To create the cute snowman families she used our Frosty Folks Stamp Set. This stamp set includes an image of  5 snowman together but she stamped it twice and carefully cut around them to create two different images that only have three snowmen each. So creative! She colored the snowmen using all different shades of blue and then added them onto each card in front of the snowflake circle. 

For the first card she also added the sentiment,"winter greetings" from the  Snowfall Roundabout Stamp Set, embossed onto a light teal banner that was cut out using our Banner Trio Die Set.

For the second card she added the sentiment,"Happy Brr-thday" from the Snowman Roundabout Stamp Set embossed onto a blue banner that was cut out using our Banner Trio Die Set.

Merry Woof-mas Card by Amanda Wilcox

Merry Woof-mas!

Today we have another fun dog themed holiday card to share! This cute circle card by Amanda features the cute puppy, nestled in a cozy Christmas scene! 

To create this fun card she stared by coloring the puppy from our Christmas Puppies Stamp Set. She colored in in various neutral colors using copics and then added gloss to the candy cane and nose and glitter to the polka dots on the scarf! These fun details really make the card feel special! Here's a clos up so you can see all the detail:

The puppy image was cut out using the coordinating Christmas Puppies Die Set. For the background she created layers of circles using our Circle Frames Die Set. On the smallest circle she also added a snowy hill using our Sea Borders Die Set. Behind the snowy hill she created a snow filled sky by embossing the snowflake image from our Snowfall Roundabout Stamp Set onto a blue inked background. 

The finishing touch is the sentiment "Merry Woof-mas," stamped onto the bubble cut out using our Speech Bubbles Die Set. What a fun little scene!

Snowfall Card Set and Farewell to Amy Tsurtua

 

Snowfall Card Set!

Today we are sharing a set of snowy cards by Amy! She created a set of four gorgeous cards that would be perfect for sending a holiday or winter greeting! She featured the big circle of snowflakes from our Snowfall Roundabout Stamp Set, embossing it in white off the top edge of a colored cardstock panel. Then she added the sentiment "Winter Greetings", also from the Snowfall Roundabout Stamp Set, embossed in white on a stripe of black and placed that over the top. So simple and yet elegant and pretty!

Simply changing the color of the cardstock, she created a set of cards all in the same layout. This would be a great way to create a set of cards to give as a gift, or a great way to make quick and easy cards to send out this holiday season! 

I am sad to say that this project marks the LAST post for Amy Tsuruta as part of our Design Team at Newton's Nook Designs! Although we've only had Amy on our team a short time, she has had a big impact! She has inspired us so much with her lovely color schemes and thoughtful creations. We have learned a lot from her. We are so sad to see go but we know we will continue to be inspired by her in the future! We wish her the very best in her next creative endeavors. We know it will be awesome! This Happy New Year card by Amy is definitely in our top picks! She created this awesome celebratory card featuring the image from our Happy New Year Stamp Set, embossed in white on a black circle that was cut out using our Circle Frames Die Set. For her other favorite, Amy chose this set of adorable shaker tags! The lovely shaker ornaments were created using our Ornament Shaker Die Set. She added them onto tags that were cut our using our Fancy Edges Tag Die Set. She added patterns to the tags too, using our Tiny Trees Stencil and Reindeer Stencil.

Snow-one Else Like You Card by Tatiana Trafimovich

Snow-one Else Like You! 

If you like snowmen, you will fall in love with this adorable snowman by Tatiana today! She features the snowman holding a sign from our new Snowman Greetings Stamp Set. This set has a variety of different sayings that fit inside the sign and she chose to use the one that says "snow-one else like you!". You could also create a birthday card or thank you card using a different sentiment from this set! For her snowman she chose a fun pink and teal color combo and added fun polka dots with a white gel pen! So cute! She cut the image out using the coordinating  Snowman Greetings Die Set too. 

For the card background she cut a big circle from a panel of white using our Circle Frames Die Set. Behind the circle cutout she added the big snowflake image from the Snowfall Roundabout Stamp Set, embossing it with white and adding blue ink over the top. She also added some sparkle with sequins in coordinating colors! How pretty!

Slimline Christmas Shaker Card by Amanda Wilcox

Loads of Holiday Cheer!

Today we are sharing a fun and festive slimline shaker card by Amanda! She showcases three of the vehicles laden with holiday decor and gifts from our Destination Christmas Stamp Set. She colored the images in fun and festive colors and cut them out using the coordinating Destination Christmas Die Set. She added three extra gifts to the roof of the station wagon, using the single gift image, also from the Destination Christmas Stamp Set. 

Once all the images were colored and trimmed out she added them onto a fun slimline shaker card. To create the shaker window frame she used the stitched square window cut out from our Slimline Frames & Windows Die Set, which perfectly frames the images of the vehicles. Behind them she created a scalloped frame with blue cardstock using the largest die from our Slimline Frames & Portholes Die Set. She also added snowflakes to the background with our Snowfall Roundabout Stamp Set. Then she assembled the layers together with some dimension between them to allow room for fun little sprinkles and sequins! 

The finishing touch is the sentiment, Loads of Holiday Cheer" from the  Destination Christmas Stamp Set. It was stamped onto a banner cut out using our Banner Trio Die Set.
