Christmas Magic Card by November Guest Designer Sybil Brewer

Hello again Newton’s Nook Friends!
Sybil here popping in today sharing a card that has me reminiscing about my childhood. When I saw the Holiday Home Stamp Set it brought back magical, memories of picking out the “perfect” tree, and my siblings and I decorating it in anticipation of Santa’s arrival!  I tried to convey that same magical feeling with this card.

 

 

For my slimline card I started out by adding grey ink onto the Mountains Stencil, creating two rows of mountains. I then added white, modeling paste with a palette knife to the stencil to form peaks, moving the knife about helped create a rough texture. When the paste was dry, I covered the mountains, and colored the night sky with a dark, blue ink.

Once again, I used the versatile, Mountains Stencil, lightly inking the bottom of it to make snow drifts for the rest of the card, doing this, grounds the stamped images that will be added to the scene.   

 

 

I copic colored the sweet, images from the Holiday Home Stamp Set, and popped them up with dimensional foam, and adhered them to the card. Since I planned on embossing the sentiment, I made sure all the ink on the background was completely dry, & also used a powder tool to prevent the embossing powder from sticking anywhere but to the sentiment. I finished the card by adding snowflakes to the night sky with a gel pen and adding glitter glue to the mountain peaks, the snow drifts, and here and there on the colored images.

A Llama Fun Birthday Card by Samantha Mann

Llama Fun Birthday!

Today we are having a "Llama" fun with this adorable birthday card by Samantha! She has created an adorable birthday scene featuring the llama from our Loveable Llamas Stamp Set. She colored the llama  in shades of gray, adding a fun texture with dots to make the fur look fuzzy! She added the blanket onto his back, also from the Loveable Llamas Stamp Set after coloring it in rainbow colors. The lama and blanket were cut out using the coordinating Loveable Llamas Die Set. 

To make the scene have more of a birthday theme, she added a trio of balloons stamped from our Fabulous Frenchies Stamp Set. She used the coordinating Fabulous Frenchies Die Set to cut the balloons out, but she also fussy cut a couple out by hand to layer and pop up for a bit of dimension! 

For the background, she created a wonderful landscape by using our Sunscape Stencil and Mountains Stencil with distress inks to add sun rays and mountains! The whitecaps were added using texture paste for even more fun detail!

The sentiment "Have a llama fun on your birthday," also from the Loveable Llamas Stamp Set, was stamped just below the horizon line.

Hay There! Farm Scene Card by Andrea Shell

Hay There! 

Hay There! Did you know we have a whole series of fun farm themed products? Today Andrea uses several of them together on a fun slimline card! She features the horse from our Neigh Stamp Set, the cow from our Moo Stamp Set, two goats from our Bleat Stamp Set, and the cute little piggy from our Oink Stamp Set. These animals are all sized to work together and each set includes images of animals facing front and one facing back so you have a variety of options to create scenes with! They also have coordinating die sets that work perfectly for cutting the images out (used here are the Neigh Die Set, Moo Die Set, Bleat Die Set, and Oink Die Set).

After coloring all these cute farm friends with copic markers, Andrea added them to a fun slimline card! The scalloped panel for the scene was created using our Slimline Frames & Portholes Die Set. Inside the frame she created layers of hills created with our Hills & Grass Stencil with distress inks. She also added some mountains along the top using our Mountains Stencil.

For a finishing touch she added the "hay there!" sentiment from the Moo Stamp Set!

She also added in the hay bale from the Moo Stamp Set, perfect for the goat to stand on!

This long format slimline card is perfect for showcasing all these critters together. You could also try creating more farm scenes using the chickens from our Cluck Stamp Set or tractors from our Farming Fun Stamp Set. You can find all the farm themed sets on our website here.

The trio of kitties on this card by Samantha are having a blast in the snow! She used the image of kitties on a sled from our Newton's Toboggan Stamp Set and colored them in such fun bright colors! She even added rosy cheeks and pompoms to the ends of their hats! Those kitties are sliding down a hill cut out using our Land Borders Die Set.Her background is awesome too, with layers of mountains added in with our new Mountains Stencil. It's so cool how she added dimension to the snowcaps with texture paste!

Enjoy the ride! The kitties on this card by Tatiana sure are having fun! She used the image of the three sledding kitties from our Newton's Toboggan Stamp Set and colored them in lovely colors with watercolor markers and added fun little details with a white gel pen. Behind them she masked off a snowy white hill and added a fun purple sky in the corner, complete with purple snowflakes! So fun!

This adorable card by Zsofia has so much energy! She used the cute trio of sledding kitties from our Newton's Toboggan Stamp Set and colored them in neutral shades of gray, adding bright pops of color on their hats and scarves! She created a fun winter scene for them by adding a line of mountains in the background using our new Mountains Stencil too! The kitties have so much to say that she added the sentiments into speech bubbles using our Speech Bubbles Die Set. And for a finishing touch, she embossed some snowflakes onto the sky too!

Maria created an awesome tall card to showcase a winter scene for the kitties from our Newton's Toboggan Stamp Set! She used the height of the card to create a layers of snowy hills, a line of trees using our Winter Memories Stamp Set and a line of mountains using the new Mountains Stencil. The trio of kitties from our Newton's Toboggan Stamp Set slides down the hill in the front on their awesome red sled! Such an awesome and colorful scene! 

Whee! The kitties on this card by Naki look like they are having a fabulous time in the snow on this slider card! She used the trio of kitties from our Newton's Toboggan Stamp Set and colored them with three different fur patterns of spots and stripes. Plus, how fun is that lime green sled!? For her card base she used our Mountains Stencil to created a line of mountains along the top of the card and fussy cut it out to make a shaped edge. She even added glittery snowcaps too! Last, she added on some snowflakes using the little snow die cut from our Snow Globe Shaker Die Set.

Bring on the snow! Whether you like snow or not, the fun and enthusiasm on this card by Andrea will make you smile! She created this card featuring the kitties from our Newton's Toboggan Stamp Set, coloring them in three different fur patterns. She added bright pops of color to the hats and scarves! For the scene she used our Hills & Grass Stencil to create snowy hills and our new Mountains Stencils for the mountains in the background. She added the sentiment into a speech bubble that was cut out using our Speech Bubbles Die Set. Then she finished off the scene with a postage edge using our Framework Die Set. What a fun winter day!

Ellen added those fun loving kitties to a cute square winter scene! She colored the image of the kitties from our Newton's Toboggan Stamp Set in fun bright colors. She even made the sled two tone with a wood color and red edges! For her scene she used our new Mountains Stencils to add a line of mint colored mountains. Then she added hills using our Land Borders Die Set and trees using our Forest Scene Builder Die Set. The stitched square edge was cut out using our Frames Squared Die Set to create an incredible square card!

These kitties are certainly ready for some snowy thrills on this playful card by Larissa. She colored those kitties from our Newton's Toboggan Stamp Set in soft neutral shades and added pops of red and green on their hats and scarves! In the background a soft skyline with mountains created using our new Mountains Stencil sets the scene! The sentiment was added on using a speech bubble cut out with our Speech Bubbles Die Set. She also used our Framework Die Set for the fun postage edge.
