A Perfect Summer-ween Card

Hi friends! This is Amanda from Twiddler's Nook. I've got a fun summerween card to share with all of you spooky lovers out there! Any excuse to pull out my Halloween goodies is a good day and now that we're past 4th of July, it's all fair game for me.

This card features:

A7 Frames & Banners Die Set

Oval Frames Die Set

Today I started by creating my stenciled background. I inked up pink and orange pumpkins using the Jack-o'-lantern stencil set on peach cardstock. After stenciling, I splattered the panel with pearl watercolor for some texture and sparkles.

 

Next, I stamped and colored my image from Newton's Boo-tiful Night with copic markers. I used the coordinating die to cut it out. Then stamped and heat embossed a sentiment from the same stamp set on a banner from the A7 Frames & Banners die set. To alter the sentiment I stamped "summer" from Newton's Happy Meowr in orange ink and trimmed it out with scissors, gluing the two together.

Then, I die cut the smallest scalloped oval in the Oval Frames die set from vellum cardstock and started assembling everything together. I glued the stenciled panel to a card base, then popped the Newton image and sentiment strip up on the vellum oval with foam squares. Finally, I hid another layer of foam squares on the back of the oval behind the image/sentiment banner and popped that up on the card front. 

For finishing touches, I added glossy accents to the jack-o-lantern faces, the crow beak and Newton's nose.

I hope you enjoyed today's summerween fun! I'd love to know if you celebrate at all. My daughter and I have at least one movie night during the summer watching our favorite Halloween movies with themed treats galore.

Hello Crafty Friends!
It’s Donna here I’m sharing a fun summer-themed card featuring Newton’s Happy Meowr Stamp Set! I wanted this card to have a cool coastal feel, so I paired the adorable image with papers from the Seaside Paper Pack and created a bold geometric background using Card Layout 4 Die Set.

The different patterned papers come together beautifully, adding lots of interest while keeping the soft blue color palette perfect for summer. I love how the turtle, fish, and dotted patterns complement sweet Newton as he relaxes with a refreshing drink in his fishbowl—definitely living his best summer life!

For the sentiment, I chose “Cheers to Summer!” from the Newton’s Happy Meowr Stamp Set. I heat embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder and die-cut it from the Basic Frames Die Set.

 

To finish the card, I added a few sparkling sequins around Newton for a touch of shimmer and tucked in a few seashells from the Newton’s Happy Meowr Stamp Set to complete the beachy vibe.

Hello Newton’s Nook Fans!
Here today to bring you a star-spangled summer card.

 

Newton’s Happy Meowr has the vibes that I am looking for this summer. To create a background for this stamp set I started by selecting paper. We are going for a star-spangled summer theme, so I chose 1 red, 1 white and 1 blue star themed paper from Stars & Stripes Paper Pad. I like to slide my paper underneath my die before cutting.
This is a good visual tool to see how everything is going to look before you make the commitment of cutting your paper.
For this card I will be using Card Layout 4 Die Set

 

After die cutting all of the pieces for the card I assembled the card front onto a card base. White cardstock for the border pieces and the card base. I stamped and colored my image from Newton’s Happy Meowr Stamp Set. The backdrop for my image is part of Hexagon Frames Die Set.

To finish this card up, I glued down all of the pieces of the front of the card. I created a banner with a piece of scrap dark blue cardstock, using white embossing powder to make sure the sentiment stood out.
The shells from Newton’s Happy Meowr add that finishing touch!

It's Happy Meowr Somewhere Card by Samantha Mann

A Tropical Happy Meowr Card!
Today we are fun, rainbow and tropical-themed card by Samantha!

This card features:
Frames & Tags Die Set
Cocktail Mixer Stamp Set
Cocktail Mixer Die Set
Newton’s Happy Meowr Stamp Set
Newton’s Happy Meowr Die Set
Hibiscus Stencil Set

I started by stamping the images from Newton’s Happy Meowr and the Cocktail Mixer stamp sets. Then I used Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers to color them in! Once they were dry, I used a white gel pen to add some details. Then I used the coordinating dies to die cut out the images.

To create the background, I used some light grey cardstock. Then I used some white embossing paste and the Hibiscus Stencil Setto add a little bit of tropical whimsy and fun! Also, the subtle addition of the texture is so cool!

Then I die cut out the frame from white cardstock using the Frames & Tags Die Set, which was popped up with foam tape!
I finished the card by heat embossing the sentiment in white. It's a combination of sentiments from
Cocktail Mixer and Newton’s Happy Meowr. It's was so fun to combine these stamp sets!

Beach Card with Newton by Samantha Mann

Hello Sunshine!

Today Samantha heads to the beach with our favorite kitty to bring you some sunshine and smiles!

First she colored that adorable kitty from our Newton's Happy Meowr Stamp Set. Isn't it cute how he's enjoying a drink from a fish bowl? She also added sunglasses to the kitty and stamped a few seashells to adorn the beach! 

Next she created a gorgeous beach background for Newton to sit in. She started by ink blending the background with shades of blue fading up to brown. Then she used some white acrylic ink and a dry brush to add the sea foam across the center. She also added more splatters to add texture to the sand. What a beautiful effect! 

For the sentiment she embossed "Hello Sunshine!" with white embossing powder onto black paper and hand cut it out around the edges. As a finishing touch she added som sequins onto the waves for a bit of sparkle!

We love this fun background technique and we hope this card has inspired you to try some fun backgrounds for your cards too!

Cheers to Summer!

Happy July 4th! Today we are celebrating by sharing some summer fun with Newton enjoying a beach drink on this adorable card by Larissa!

To create cheerful summer greeting, she used the kitty with the big fishbowl drink from our Newton's Happy Meowr Stamp Set. She colored the kitty in neutral colors with added dots on the fur for texture. She also added in a couple of seashells from the stamp stamp set, cutting all the images out with the coordinating Newton's Happy Meowr Die Set. 

For her card she created a gorgeous seashell background using our Seashells Stencil with a variety of ink colors. So pretty! Then she created a little summer scene for the kitty inside the frame from our Framework Die Set and layered it over the seashell background. 

What a fun summer greeting!

It's Happy Meowr Somewhere! Card by Diane Morales

Happy MEOWR with Newton!

Today we are headed out to the beach to share a fun drink with Newton on this fun summer card by Diane! 

For this card Diane features the cute image of the kitty with the fishbowl drink from our Newton's Happy Meowr Stamp Set. She colored the image in fun bright summer colors with alcohol markers and cut it out using the coordinating Newton's Happy Meowr Die Set. She also stamped and colored the fun little seashell images that are included in this set to add to her beach scene. 

To create a fun beach scene for Newton, She used our Sunscape Stencil with orange ink over a yellow cardstock panel to create a sunny sky. Then she used our Sea Borders Die Set to cut a curved border of sand to go across the bottom of her scene. She used our Frames Squared Die Set to create a scalloped square for her card base and cut the layers to fit onto the front. So fun! 

The finishing detail is the sentiment "It's happy MEOWR somewhere!" stamped onto a banner that was cut out using our Banner Duo Die Set.

Happy Meowr Cards by Jennifer Jackson

It's Happy MEOWR! 

Hello! Jen here today and I've been having so much fun with our NEW Newton's Happy Meowr Stamp Set! We snuck this new design into our shop over Memorial Day Weekend but we didn't get a chance to share it on our blog yet so I thought I'd show you what I created using this fun new design! 

For my first card started with the adorable image of Newton drinking a summer drink from a fishbowl! On this one I imagined him drinking a lemonade. I used watercolor markers to color the kitty in shades of gray and added bright yellow to the water in the bowl. I hope the fish likes lemonade too! I also stamped and cut out the sunglasses to add onto the kitty. 

Behind the kitty I inked up a panel using shades of yellow and then die cut it using our Basic Frames Die Set to make it into a big banner. I added the sentiment "It's Happy Meowr Somewhere!" onto a speech bubble that was cut out using our Speech Bubbles Die Set. 

For the background I repeatedly stamped all the little images that are included with this set in a random pattern and then addd splashes of color over them. I then cut it out with our Frames & Tags Die Set to give it that fun zig zag edge. I love how this turned out! It's so fun and cheerful for summer! 

For my second card I created a fun summer theme and added some waves:

I used the same image from our NEW Newton's Happy Meowr Stamp Set again to start out. I used watercolor markers agin but this time I colored the kitty orange (just like our Newton). This time his drink is blue. Maybe it's a summer punch or blue raspberry flavor? I cut the image out using the coordinating Newton's Happy Meowr Die Set. 

For the background I used our Waves & Splashes Stencil to create layers of fun waves. Then I cut the panel out using the rectangle from our Basic Frames Die Set. I also added a stripe of yellow polka dot paper along the bottom of the panel using our Bright Basics Paper Pad. 

Lastly, I used our Circle Frames Die Set to add a scalloped circle of vellum behind the kitty and a  yellow circle next to him with the sentiment "Cheers to Summer!"
