Fan Feature Week - Day 1

The rest of this week we're spotlighting creations by our fans!

We see so many amazing projects featuring Newton's Nook Designs products that we thought it would be fun to have our Design Team members pick their favorites and share them on our blog this week! Each day for the rest of this week we will share a couple of our favorite projects, created by YOU, our fans! See your project below? Design Team member Samantha Mann picked this fun and summery card by Pricsilla Joseph at Nubble Light Designs This card uses our Mermaid Crossing Stamp Set.

"I am in love with this very summery card! I LOVE the nautical feel and the texture around the porthole! The mermaid really is the star of the show!"

Design Team member Andrea Shell picked this beautiful and colorful floral card by Ishani. This card uses our Floral Fringe Stamp Set and Loads of Blooms Stamp Set.

"This card by Ishani is so beautiful! I love how she stretched the square Floral Fringe stamp into a slimline card and fussy-cut the flowers to frame her sentiment! Her colors are so cheerful, and her coloring is fabulous!"

Newton's Nook Designs & Xyron Inspiration Week - Day 3 with Amanda

This week we are partnering with Xyron for a very awesome inspiration week! Each day we will have fresh inspiration using Newton's Nook Designs products with Xyron adhesives on the NND blog and Xyron will be featuring  projects as well on the Xyron facebook page! Today we are featuring projects by Amanda! 

Today we have this amazing mermaid scene by Amanda:

For her card, Amanda created an amazing summer scene using several NND products. She started out by created a sunny background using the new Sunscape Stencil with orange ink on a yellow background. Then she added a palm tree silhouette to each side using our Paradise Palms Stamp Set. She created the layers of sand and sea using our Land Borders Die Set and Sea Borders Dies. Then she added the sweet mermaid in front using our Mermaid Crossing Stamp Set. She added some gorgeous glitter to the mermaid in green and gold. The sentiment "have a fin-tastic birthday" is also from the Mermaid Crossing Stamp Set. She used the Teresa Collins Mega Runner by Xyron to assemble all the pieces together.

Newton's Nook Designs & Therm O Web Inspiration Week - Day 2 with Amanda & Samantha

Today is day two of our inspiration week with Newton's Nook Designs and Therm O Web! All week long both design teams will be sharing ways to add fun foils and more to your cards using Therm O Web products with Newton's Nook Designs stamps! There are prizes too! Read all the way to the end of this post to find out how you can win! 

Today we are featuring projects by Amanda and Samantha! 

First up is the this gorgeous shaker card by Amanda:

For her card, Amanda used the new Clear Toner Sheets (Groovy) by Therm O Web for her shaker window. She foiled the pattern on the clear sheet using Deco Foil in Spring Green from Therm O Web and a heat laminator to make the yummy green pattern on the front of the shaker! Once the shaker portion of her card was created she added florals to her card using our Lovely Blooms Stamp Set and Die Set.  She stamped the mason jar and flowers from the Lovely Blooms Stamp Set, colored them in gorgeous bright colors, and trimmed them out with the coordinating Lovely Blooms Die set. She assembled them into a big and beautiful Bouquet in front of the shaker window. Then she finished the card off with the "thinking of you" sentiment from the Beautiful Wings Stamp Set. How lovely!

Next we have two beautiful cards using foil  by Samantha: 

For first card, Samantha used created a gorgeous little circle of foiled waves using our Waves Stencil and the Deco Foil Transfer Gel from Therm O Web. Once the transfer gel was dry, she added on pieces of Deco Foil by Therm O Web in Aqua, Silver Shattered Glass and Spring Green colors and heat set it with a laminator! So pretty! She then colored that sweet mermaid from our Mermaid Crossing Stamp Set and fussy cut it out to layer over the waves. She added the "have a fin-tastic birthday" sentiment on a black banner that she cut out using the little banner from our Frames & Flags Die Set. 

For her second card, Samantha created lovely foiled buildings! She used the Deco Foil Transfer Gel from Therm O Web and smeared it all over a piece of cardstock. Once the gel was dry, she foiled sections of the cardstock using several different colors of Deco Foil by Therm O Web. The foil colors she used were Aqua, Silver Shattered Glass, Spring Green, Gold Shattered Glass, Red Rouge and Pink Melon. She stamped and embossed the buildings on top of the foiled colors and fussy cut them out to add onto her card! For the buildings she used images from both Newton Dreams of London and Newton Dreams of New York. She added the "lets go on an adventure" sentiment from the Stowaway Newton Stamp Set, embossing it with white embossing powder on a black banner that she cut out using the little banner from our Frames & Flags Die Set.

Several of our Design Team Members decided to play along - check out all the awesome birthday cards they created! Read the description below each card to see who made it.

Our April Guest, Christy played along with our challenge and created this yummy card! She used our Tag Sampler stamp set and Tags Times Two Die Set for the handmade with love tag. The little dotted heart image is from Winston's Honeybees. I love how she paired it with pattern paper that has handmade jars of yummy goodies on it! 

Samantha created this fun card using the sketch! I love the black and white background with the pop of color for the tag! She used our Tag Sampler stamp set and Tags Times Two Die Set for the tag. The ice cream is from the Summer Scoops stamp set. 

Jess created this fun BEE card using our new Tag Sampler stamp set and Tags Times Two Die Set  along with the cute bees from the Winston's Honeybees stamp set! I can just imagine those bees buzzing every direction!

Crafty Math-Chick had fun with our new Tag Sampler stamp set and Tags Times Two Die Set on her card. I love how she added in the ball of yarn from the Newton Unwinds set to create a fun background - and the subtle sweater paper too!

I created a mermaid themed card with this sketch! I used our Tag Sampler stamp set to stamp the tag and I cut it out with the Tags Times Two Die Set. Then I colored the mermaid from the Mermaid Crossing stamp set and fussy cut her out. I added the "have a FIN-tastic birthday" sentiment to the tag, also from the Mermaid Crossing stamp set!

Fintastic Birthday Card by Larissa Heskett!

Here is an adorable birthday card by Larissa using Tranquil Tides and Mermaid Crossings! Just look at that amazing color and dimension on those seahorses! The Tranquil Tides Dies make it so easy to focus on the coloring, and not worry about the cutting! I love the cool circles she used to create the 'porthole' for the shaker card! And as a surprise, it's a DOUBLE shaker! Wow!

Mermaid Treat container by Guest Designer Liz Munoz

Fun Mermaid Treats! 

We have another fun project today from our August Guest Designer, Liz! She used our Mermaid Crossing stamp set to create a fun little treat holder, filled with fish shaped crackers! I love how she fussy cut out the mermaid and the seaweed and starts to create a cute little cluster on the front of the box and also for the cute little tag! This is such a cute idea! Wouldn't these be great party favors for a kids birthday party?

Cupcake Inspirations Challenge Sponsor!

Of course I had to play along -- here's the card I created. I was inspired by the cupcakes the little purple flowers to make a girly mermaid card! I grabbed our new Mermaid Crossing stamp set and started creating. I wanted wanted to make a sweet girly card with the mermaid surrounded by little tiny flowers but I ended up finding this big fun flower in my stash and it reminded me of seaweed or sea coral so I just had to use it. I colored the mermaid with Zig clean color brush markers and cut her out with an oval die. Then I added some distress ink along the edges of the oval. I also used the little tiny seaweed stamp to create a fun tonal background with brown ink on kraft paper.

I found a few other smaller flowers and then punched out a couple with different shades of purple. I added white centers to them with some liquid enamel. Then, I used the "we're mermaid for each other" sentiment, also from the Mermaid Crossing stamp set to finish it off. This card is totally different from my usual style but I'm loving how it turned out!

SEA-sons Greetings!

Today I'm sharing a clever holiday card by Crafty Math-Chick! She had the coolest idea to take the coral from our new Tranquil Tides stamp set to create coral Christmas Tree! This is the perfect tree to for our mermaid from our new Mermaid Crossing stamp set - isn't it cute how she's decorating it with stars? She also added in our cute little crab and fish from the SEAson's Greetings stamp set to complete this fun underwater sea card! The Sea-sons greetings" sentiment is also from the SEAson's Greetings stamp set. This is such a fun and unexpected holiday card! Love this idea!

  Here is a fun shark Birthday card by Yukari using our sketch! I love how she created two cute sharky scenes with our Shark Bites Stamp set!

Check out this beautiful under the sea scene that Larissa created for this challenge! She used our fun little Seahorse from the Tranquil Tides stamp set and cut him out with the coordinating Tranquil Tides die set! I love the added dimension she gave him with the white dots and the googlie eye!!

Here is a cute early christmas card by Samantha. I love the two bottle cut-outs with fish inside! Such a fun idea! She used our Message in a Bottle Stamp Set and Message in a Bottle Dies along with the SEAsons Greetings stamp set. 

Here is a fun birthday card by Crafty Math-Chick! I love how she used the bright colored balloon paper paired with the black and white colored kitty from the Newton's Antics Stamp set. She also used our new coordinating Newton's Anitcs purr-fect die set to cut out that cute kitty! 

Here's a card I created using our Mermaid Crossing stamp set. I colored the image on watercolor paper with Zig Clean Color watercolor markers. I love how vibrant these are! Then I added some fun bubble paper for the background and a fun blue twine bow!

I love all the sparkle on this card by Lydia. The sparkle on the tail and starfish really make it pop off the fun clean layout!

Larissa created a gorgeous jewelry pendant using the mermaid! It is so pretty with all that sparkle! Plus she created a card to put it on to give to the recipient! Such a cool presentation! 

This shaker card by Yukari is so pretty! I love the soft colors with the pop of black! What fun!

I love the fun clean and simple layout on this card by Nina-Marie! And the coloring on the mermaids hair is gorgeous!
