Just Wing It! Butterfly Card by Samantha Mann

Just Wing It!

Samantha is enjoying playing with our Monarchs Stamp Set and has created another amazing card to share today! 

To create this gorgeous card she started by using our Tropical Leaves Stencil transfer gel on a dark blue cardstock background. Then she applied three colors of flock to create fun fuzzy leaves. She then used our 

Essential Alphabet Die Set to cut out the words "Just Wing It" from the background panel and mounted it onto a white card base so the white showed through behind the letter cut outs! Stunning! 

Next, she used our Monarchs Stamp Set and ctamped three butterflies. She colored their wings with reds, pinks and yellows and added white paint splatters. Then she cut the butterflies out using the coordinating Monarchs Die Set. She used the same die set again, this time cutting the shapes out with vellum. She then used her sewing machine to stitch the vellum wings over the stamped butterflies.

Isn't this card just stunning!? The mixes of textures really make this creation unique and the added dimension gives it a special finishing touch!

Hello Sunshine Card by Samantha Mann

Hello Sunshine! 

Are you enjoying the sunny days of summer? We hope so! This yummy card by Samantha is perfect for sending a sunny summer greeting! 

For this beautiful summer card she features the images of lemons from our Lemon Twist Stamp Set. She colored two full lemons and one single slice in beautiful bright colors. She cut the images out using the coordinating Lemon Twist Die Set. 

For the card background she created a gorgeous tropical themed setting using our Tropical Leaves Stencil with shades of pink distress inks to set the theme. She cut this panel to be just a little thinner than her cardfront and added some black and white washi tape along side it to add a pop of contrast.  Then she layered the lemons over the background, adding the two full lemons to the top and the slice to the lower right corner. 

In the center she added the sentiment, "hello sunshine" from the Lemon Twist Stamp Set. She embossed the words in white onto vellum paper and hand cut around them to add them to her card.  So lovely!

This tasty card is sure to brighten anyones day!

For this amazing yummy birthday card Amanda used the 3 piece cupcake stencil from Newton's Nook Designs with glitz gel (on the cherries and sprinkles) from Therm O Web. She also used a deco foil transfer pen to add fun foiled spots to the big cupcake wrapper on the stamped image for more fun sparkle! Full product list below.

Hummingbird Card by Samantha Mann

Humming Along... 

Let someone know they are in your thoughts with this adorable hummingbird card by Samantha!

For this card she features the sweet bird from our Hummingbird Stamp Set. She stamped the image once and then stamped it a second time using the mirror stamping technique so that she could have two birds facing each other! WOW! How cool is that!? She colored both bird using gorgeous bright greens and pinks, perfect for a cheerful greeting. For the bird on the right she used the coordinating Hummingbird Die Set and for the mirror stamped bird on the left she fussy cut the image out by hand with a scissor. 

For the background she used our Tropical Leaves Stencil to create a gorgeous backdrop filled with pink tropical leaves! Then she simply added the sentiment along the bottom and a bit of black and white washi tape for a finishing touch. So pretty!

Tropical Card by Zsofia Molnar

Hello Lovely!!

Today we are dreaming of summer with a wonderful tropical creation by Zsofia. 

Her gorgeous card today features that cute toucan from our retiring Toucan Party Stamp Set. She colored this bird in fun bright colors using copic markers. She layered this cute bird along with some of the little tropical flowers from the same stamp set onto a small circle cut out with our Circle Frames Die Set. She added tropical leaves all around the edge of the circle for a fun tropical wreath effect! She cut these leaves out using our Hibiscus Die Set. Then she also added the sentiment "Hello Lovely" from our Heartfelt Love Stamp Set, embossed in white onto a skinny black banner that was die cut using the little banner from our A7 Frames & Banners Die Set. How adorable!

For her card base, she used our Tropical Leaves Stencil with green ink over a light yellow distress inked background. She also added black paint splatters for a fun effect! What a gorgeous tropical card!

Toucan Do It Card by Samantha Mann

Toucan Do It!

Today we are heading to the tropics with this card by Samantha. Our adorable toucans from our Toucan Party Stamp Set are featured on this amazing inspirational creation. She colored two of the birds along with several branches and leaves from this set in awesome bright colors. Everything was cut out using the coordinating Toucan Party Die Set. For the beautiful background she used our Tropical Leaves Stencil with a rainbow of ink colors! So gorgeous! 

The finishing touch is the fun way she added the sentiment. She embossed the words from the Toucan Party Stamp Set in white on pink and yellow cardstock. Then she layered it over a black bubble from our 

Speech Bubbles Die Set to really make it pop!

This card is so fun and cheerful! It is sure to send smiles to the recipient!

Live, Love, Aloha Card by Samantha Mann

Live • Love• Aloha!

Are you in the mood for summer fun? This card by Samantha is perfect for a summer greeting! She created a delightful scene combing a bunch of NND products! To start out she colored the kitty with the ukulele from our Aloha Newton Stamp Set and the cute corgi wearing a hula skirt from our Corgi Beach Stamp Set. Don't they work perfectly together!? After she colored them in gorgeous vibrant hues, she cut the images out using the coordinating Aloha Newton Die Set and Corgi Beach Die Set.

To set the scene, she created two little islands using our Circle Frames Die Set and inking the die cut shapes with distress inks. She added a curve of waves in front using our Land Borders Die Set, again adding lovely distress inks to the shape. in the background she stenciled a leaf pattern using our Tropical Leaves Stencil and some green inks. To add on more leaves and flowers she stamped images from our Toucan Party Stamp Set (cut out with the coordinating Toucan Party Die Set). Plus, she added seashells from our Manatee-rific Stamp Set and a couple of tiny starfish from our Purr-maid Newton Stamp Set.

The finishing touch is the "Live Love Aloha" from the Aloha Newton Stamp Set, embossed in white onto a black banner.

What a gorgeous tropical scene! The colors are so vibrant and perfect the the tropical setting!

Heartfelt Wishes Card by Samantha Mann

Heartfelt Wishes!

Today we have a gorgeous card by Samantha that is filled with love! For her card today she is featuring the sweet duo of love birds from our retiring Darling Duos Stamp Set. She has coloring them in stunning bright colors and carefully fussy cut around the image by hand. She layered this sweet image over a vellum heart that was cut out using our Darling Hearts Die Set. Underneath the image she added the custom sentiment "heartfelt wishes" using words from the retiring Simply Sentimental Stamp Set, embossed in white. She cut around the sentiment by hand and added it to her card. She also added a gorgeous tropical background using our Tropical Leaves Stencil with distress inks.

Sothy Valentine's Day Shaker Card by Samantha Mann

Have a Sloth-some Valentine's Day!

Here is a fun take on a Valentine's Day card by Samantha! She has created a fun shaker card featuring the cute hanging sloth from our In Slow Motion Stamp Set. She colored the sloth and hand cut out the image. Then she nestled him inside a heart shaker shape that she cut out using our Darling Hearts Die Set. She shaker is filled with fun purple and white sequins and beads that go perfectly with the purple background. To create that fun Tropical background she used our Tropical Leaves Stencil in shades of purple! So lovely! To create that custom sentiment used creative masking and  combined the "have a sloth-some" phrase from the In Slow Motion Stamp Set with the "Happy Valentine's Day" phrase from the Love Bites Stamp Set. What a fun way to create your own sentiment!

Go Shorty Card by Tatiana Trafimovich

Go Shorty!! 

Don't you think Corgi butts are the cutest!? Today Tatiana created this fun card featuring the corgi butt image from our new Corgi Beach Stamp Set that will make you smile! She created a trio of corgis in a row, and added sunglasses onto each one. She cut the dogs and their sunglasses out using the coordinating Corgi Beach Die Set. Each pup is also added onto the card using an action wobbler so their butts wiggle!! How fun is that!? Behind each pup is a stitched circle that was cut out using our Frames Squared Die Set. The stripe of tropical leaves was created using our Tropical Leaves Stencil This card makes me smile every time I look at it! So adorable!

Newton's Nook Designs 6 YEAR Celebration Blog Hop!

Newton’s Nook Designs is so excited to be celebrating our SIX Year Anniversary
- WOW - That's six whole years of getting our paws inky!

I remember how excited I was when our first four sets came in the mail over six years ago! Now we have over XX products in our shop! It's been an Incredible journey so far- filled with happiness, stress, lots of excitement and very little sleep! Here are a few behind the scenes photos from this last year of Jeff and I and our little helpers, Newton and Hobbes!

We want to take a minute to say THANK YOU to all our fans, designers and customers who helped make it happen! We are so happy to be here and we can't wait to see what the next year brings!

Every stop on the hop is sharing cards made with our new products and I made a card to share today too! For my card I colored the image of Newton surfing from our new Newton's Perfect Wave Stamp Set. Isn't that kitty adorable in his bathing suit with fish on it!? I colored the image with copics and added fun little stripes to the kitty.

For the background I created layers of clouds using our new Clouds Stencil. Then I added a die cut wave across the bottom using our Sea Borders Die Set. I cut this whole panel out using the scalloped edge from our Framework Die Set. For the background I created a fun pattern of orange leaves using our Tropical Leaves Stencil. Last, I added the sentiment from the Newton's Perfect Wave Stamp Set, stamping it onto a circle that I cut out using our Frames Squared Die Set. I added some orange distress ink to the circle to make it look like a sun!

Pineapple Delight Card by Nakaba Rager

A Pineapple a Day!

Today we are feeling in the mood for some summer fun with this sweet card by Naki! She created a fun tropical theme using the bold pineapple image from our Pineapple Delight Stamp Set. She stamped the pineapple and top from the set in colored inks and then cut them out using the Pineapple Delight Die Set. She layered this image over a background that was lightly colored with pink ink and she added the sentiment, "a pineapple a day keeps the worries away", also from the Pineapple Delight Stamp Set,  in the corner with gold embossing powder. The stitched edge rectangle was cut out using our Frames & Flags Die Set. For the card base she created an awesome gold background using our Tropical Leaves Stencil.

Ear-Resistable Sloth Card by Samantha Mann

Ear-resistable Sloth!

Today have an adorable sloth card by Samantha that is perfect for Spring! She started with the cute sloth from our In Slow Motion Stamp Set. She colored the image and added on some leaves from our Toucan Party Stamp Set and fussy cut the image out.  She also added some adorable bunny ears to the sloth by stamping the image of Newton wearing bunny ears from our Newton's Easter Basket Stamp Set and coloring and fussy cutting out just the ears! What a fun idea!

For the background she created an awesome background of leaves using our Tropical Leaves Stencil and distress inks. Then she added the sloth image over the top of the background. She also added the "you are ear-resistable" sentiment, stamped from our Bitty Bunnies Stamp Set, on a black banner.
