Love & Coffee! Valentine Card by Donna Idlet

Love & Coffee!

Love is in the air today on this coffee themed card by Donna!

This card features our Love Café Stamp Set along with our Fractured Card Layout Die and our Love & Meows and Lovely Hearts paper packs.

Donna stamped the image of two mugs from the Love Café Stamp Set and colored it with alcohol markers. She also stamped the steam with the heart on top and the coffee beans from the same set. She cut everything out using the coordinating Love Café Die Set.

To create her card she used our Fractured Card Layout Die along with papers from our Love & Meows and Lovely Hearts paper packs to create the background with all the pretty heart patterns.

Last, she added the fun coffee themed sentiment from the Love Café Stamp Set. She embossed the sentiment onto a black postage edged banner that was cut out using our Framework Die Set.

With Valentine's Day right around the corner this would be a great way to send love to a coffee lover!

Cat Window Card by Samantha Mann

Window Sitting!

If you have cats you know how much they love sitting in windows. Today Samantha used the cats from our Cat Silhouettes Die Set and created a unique window scene with die cuts. 

To create the window frame she used the die from our Frames & Tags Die Set, cutting it out from gray cardstock. She inked up a panel to go behind the frame using distress oxide inks in shades of pink. This created her window.

For the wall she created "wallpaper" by using a piece of patterned paper with tiny gray hearts from our Love & Meows Paper Pad. She cut the paper just a bit short of the card height to leave a white space for the "floor." 

To create the curtain she cut out a big curve using our Land Borders Die Set with some textured vellum paper. She added a sash by using the Land Borders Die Set again with pink paper, cutting it twice close together to create a curve with two stitching lines. This is such a unique use of the Land Borders Die!! She added a pink bow using the bow from our Pines & Holly Die Set.

She assembled the window and curtain onto her card and added the trio of black kitties that were cut out using the Cat Silhouettes Die Set. The finishing touch is the sentiment "from MEOW to you" from our Cat-itude Stamp Set. She embossed the sentiment in white onto a banner that was cut out using our Bookmark Die Set.

This scene is so adorable and it would be great to send to a cat lover. The touch of pink would even make it a great Valentine card!

I Really Dig You! Puppy Card by Donna Idlet

Digging up some Valentine Fun!

Today Donna is sharing a Valentine that is perfect for sending to a dog owner for Valentine's Day! 

She features that adorable pup from our Puppy Heart Stamp Set paired with our Fractured Card Layout Die Set and our Love & Meows Paper Pad.

She starts by stamping and coloring the puppy, giving him a bright red heart for Valentine's Day. The image from this set comes with a blank heart and several sentiments that fit inside it so you can choose your favorite. For this card Donna chose "I really DIG you!" which is a perfect for a dog lover on Valentine's Day!

The card base uses our Fractured Card Layout Die Set with papers from our Love & Meows Paper Pad.  Once the papers are cut using this fun die, you just assemble them with some glue and add your image to the center. Donna also added a heart behind the image using our Heart Frames Die Set to give it a bit more love!

You could make more adorable valentine cards using this layout with any of our other valentine papers. You can find them all in the Valentine category on our site

Dog & Cat Friendship Card by Donna Idlet

Life is Better with a Friend Like You!

Today we are sharing a cozy friendship card created by Donna that would be perfect for sending to a pet lover!

To create this adorable card she began by stamping the image of the dog and cat snuggling on the swing from our Porch Swing Friends Stamp Set. She choose a paper pattern that she wanted to use from our Love & Meows Paper Pad and colored the image using colors that matched the paper! This is a great way to choose a color palette if you're not sure what colors to use on an image! 

The image was cut out using the coordinating Porch Swing Friends Die Set. Then she cut out a scallop edged rectangle using our  Framework Die Set to layer the behind the image. She added a bit of light blue ink onto the rectangle. This really helps the image pop! She also added the sentiment "Life is better with a friend like you" from the Porch Swing Friends Stamp Set along the bottom and added a glossy heart next to it. She also added hearts to the top strings on the swing. So cute! 

This cozy scene is sure to make the recipient feel loved!

Let Love Bloom Card by Diane Morales

Let Love Bloom!

Today we are sharing an adorable card by Diane that combines love and spring themes together! 

To create this cute card she started by stamping the sweet birdhouse image from our Birdhouse Greetings Stamp Set. She colored the image in fun bright colors and also colored a few extra butterflies. The images were cut out using the coordinating Birdhouse Greetings Die Set and she layered them onto a vellum oval that was cut out using our Oval Frames Die Set. 

For the background she chose the pretty patterened paper filled with love letters from our Love & Meows Paper Pad. The paper matches the red birdhouse perfectly! Then she finished out her card by choosing the sentiment "Let love bloom" from our Heartfelt Roses Stamp Set. She embossed the sentient in white onto red cardstock and cut it out using the Banner Trio Die Set. What a perfect combination! 

This fun creation would be perfect to send as a Valentine but would also work perfectly for celebrating the love of spring! Such a fun combination of products!

Dog & Cat Valentine Card by Donna Idlet

Dogs or Cats? How about BOTH!

We know that some people prefer dogs and some prefer cats but this card by Donna is perfect for either, or for someone who loves BOTH! 

To create this fun dog and cat combo she started out by stamping the dog and cat holding a heart from our Puppy Heart Stamp Set and our Newton's Heart Stamp Set. These sets are simliar in design so they pair perfectly together! Each set features an empty heart, being held by the dog or cat and several fun sentiments that fit inside it so you have your choice of messages to add to your card. For her card Donna added "You make my tail wag!" inside the dog's heart and "You make my heart purr!" inside the cat's heart! So fun! She colored both images using alcohol markers and then cut them out using the coordinating Puppy Heart Die Set and Newton's Heart Die Set. 

For her card, she started with a white card base and added on two fun patterned papers from our Love & Meows Paper Pad, framed with a thin edge of black. Then she added a fun pink scalloped heart to the center, cut out using our Heart Frames Die Set and layered the dog and cat on top! 

What a fun way to make a Valentine for a pet lover!

Hello Sunshine Card by Larissa Heskett

Hello Sunshine

Today Larissa has created a card that is sure to brighten your day!

This sunny card features a cluster of lemons from our Lemon Twist Stamp Set. She colored them in gorgeous bright yellows and cut them out using the coordinating Lemon Twist Die Set. She added them to her card, arranging them in a yummy bunch and added several little flowers and swirls from the same set.

To add a pop of color she layered a butterfly on top using our  Monarchs Stamp Set, cut out with our Monarchs Die Set. She framed the whole panel with a pretty blue polka dotted paper from our Love & Meows Paper Pad, cut out using our Frames & Flags Die Set.

Kitty Valentine Card by Donna Idlet

Kitty Valentine!

Today Donna has created a kitty themed Valentine that is sure to warm your heart!

This sweet Valentine features the cozy duo of kitties from our Newton's Antics Stamp Set. She colored the the kitties and their toy mouse and cut them out using the coordinating Newton's Antics Die Set.  She layered them over a duo of hearts that were cut out using our Heart Frames Die Set. She also added a couple of hearts around them, stamped using our Heart Frames Die Set. 

For her card base she choose two fun patterns from our Love & Meows Paper Pad and cut them both out using our Frames & Flags Die Set. She split the panel in half, giving her card two fun patterns and added a little black strip in the center to separate them. The finishing touch is the sentiment "loves mew" from the Newton's Antics Stamp Set, embossed in white onto a little black rectangle.  

This snuggly kitty card would make a perfect Valentine or would be great for an anniversary or other occasion too!

Newton's Nook Designs Sweet Treats Blog Hop!

It's our 9th Annual Sweet Treats Blog Hop!

The Newton's Nook Designs Team is hopping along today to share some great Sweet Treats - just in time for Valentine's Day! Make sure you scroll down to the bottom of this post to see the whole list and hop along and comment for a chance to win!

For my stop on the hop today,  I created a trio of treat toppers to hold some yummy candy hearts!

For these treat toppers I knew I wanted to feature our Smitten Kittens Stamp Set so I got out the stamp set, stamped a bunch of kittens and  colored them in a a variety of different fur colors. I used watercolor markers to color the images. Next, I cut the images out using the coordinating Smitten Kittens Die Set. 

I found some cellophane bags that fit my jelly candy hearts and then measured the width of the bags to decide how wide to make the treat toppers. In this case the bags are 3" wide so I made the toppers 3 1/4" wide by 2 3/4" tall but you could adjust the size to fit any treat bag you might have on hand. I started with a kraft colored cardstock base and then added pieces of patterned papers from our Love & Meows Paper Pad, adding two patterns across each topper. I then cut out the hearts using our Heart Frames Die Set. I chose a color for each heart that coordinated with the papers and kittens.  I used two sentiment from the 

Smitten Kittens Stamp Set ("Smitten as a Kitten" and "You're the cat's Meow"). Then I added the sentiment "Be my MEOW-entine" from the Newton's Heart Stamp Set for the third treat topper.

Birthday Tacos!

We are ready to celebrate a birthday with tacos and margaritas on this card today by Ellen!

For this fun and festive birthday card she stamped and colored the kitty holding the margarita from our Newton Loves Tacos Stamp Set. She added fun dot details to the fun and pink cheeks to the kitty too! She also stamped and colored the cat shaped taco from the stamp set and cut both out using the coordinating Newton Loves Tacos Die Set. 

For the card base she started with a square card and added layers using our Frames Squared Die Set with solid colored papers and with a paw prints pattern from our Love & Meows Paper Pad and a stripe pattern from our Meowy Christmas Paper Pad. She added the happy birthday sentiment from our Cycling Friends Stamp Set, stamped onto a banner that was cut out with our A7 Frames & Banners Die Set. 

What a great way to celebrate a birthday!

Belly Rubs Scrapbook Layout by Samantha Mann

Belly Rubs!

Today we sharing a creative sunny scrapbook page by Samantha using some of our brand new products.

For this page layout she used a photo of her sweet kittens and then created sun rays around the left side of the photo using yellow and orange patterned papers from our new Springtime Paper Pad. Behind the phot on the right side she added some blue sky using paint and then little textured paw prints over the top using our new Petite Paw Prints Stencil. She also cut out some clouds using the cloud patterned paper from the Springtime Paper Pad with the cloud die from our Sky Scene Builders Die Set. The little gray heart pattern is from our Love & Meows Paper Pad and gives this layout just a little pop of neutral color to match those gray kitties. Then she added the "belly rubs" title with some 3D letters. How adorable!
