A Holiday Hug in a Mug Card by Larissa Heskett

A Holiday Hug in a Mug

The holidays are the perfect time to cozy up with a hot beverage. Today Larissa has created a card that is perfect for sending cozy wishes!

To create this card she started out with our Cup of Cocoa Stamp Set. She created a background using all the fun images from the set, stamping them in black and added bits of paint splatter. 

Next, she features our new A Hug in a Mug Die Set, cutting the sentiment from black paper. She layers it over circles that were cut using our Circle Frames Die Set. The largest scalloped circle also features red polka dot paper from our Christmas Basics Paper Pad. 

What a perfect way to send a holiday greeting or cozy thank you to a a friend who loves cocoa or coffee!

No Coal for You!

Today Diane has created an adorable bookmark featuring Newton dressed up as Santa Claus!

She started out with the kitty Santa with the bag of gifts from our Santa Paws Newton Stamp Set. She colored the image, giving him a light blue Santa suit and gifts in a pastel color theme. The image was cut out using the coordinating Santa Paws Newton Die Set and she added some glitter to the gifts and the Santa hat too! 

To create the bookmark she used our Holiday Foliage Hot Foil Plate with silver foil onto a dark blue paper. Then she cut the foiled pattern out using our Bookmark II Die Set. She also used our Labels Hot Foil Plates & Dies Set to create the gold arch. This set creates a label with a foiled border, perfect for holding a sentiment. She added the "No coal for you!" sentiment onto the label and then added it to her bookmark. Last, she layered on the cute kitty image. 

This adorable bookmark would be perfect for adding in with a holiday gift of a book. Or, you could add it to a package as a tag !

Happy Thanksgiving + Black Friday Sale Starts Now!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Jen here today (owner of Newton's Nook Designs with my husband Jeff) and we want to take a moment to wish everyone a wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday! We are hope you are spending our day today filling up on turkey and relaxing! If you are at home doing a little online shopping, make sure to scroll down to the end of this post for details on our Black Friday Sale!

This holiday season is a time to reflect and appreciate everything you are thankful for and we want to let you know that we are so thankful for YOU, all of our AMAZING customers and fans! 

In the spirit of gratitude, I'd like to share a couple of beautiful thank you cards I created. Both cards feature our Leaf Splendor Stamp Set and our Autumn Basics Paper Pad.

For the card above I colored the leaves from the Leaf Splendor Stamp Set using watercolor markers. I cut them out with the coordinating Leaf Splendor Die Set. For the card I cut the postage edged frame from white cardstock using our Framework Die Set. I added 4 squares of patterned paper chosen from our Autumn Basics Paper Pad and layered the leaves over the top. The sentiment was stamped along the bottom and a bit of twine finishes the simple layout. 

For the second card I again colored a leaf from the Leaf Splendor Stamp Set with watercolor markers and cut it out with the coordinating Leaf Splendor Die Set. This time created a fun patterned background using our Autumn Basics Paper Pad. I cut an A2 sized piece of copy paper and then added strips of scrap paper from the paper pad, cutting them at angles and randomly adhering them to the copy paper. I then cut the paper out using the stitched rectangle from our Basic Frames Die Set. I added a strip of vellum and a sheer ribbon across the center and layered the leaf over that. I also added the sentiment, stamped onto an oval cut using our Oval Frames Die Set. This whole panel was then framed with an orange postage edged frame that was cut out using our Framework Die Set.

Pattern Papers for a Fun Holiday Greeting!

Today Donna is sharing a fun way to use paper scraps to create a beautiful holiday card! 

This card features papers from our Canine Christmas and Christmas Time Paper Pads. She picked the papers that she wanted to feature on her card and then cut them out using our A2 Card Layout Die Set. We love how she lined up the stockings to fit perfectly inside the rectangle die cut! 

She also used our Christmas Word Trio Die Set to cut out the "noel" sentiment with the stitched banner edge. This die fits perfectly inside the center window of the A2 Card Layout Die Set!
