Shell-ebrate Card by Donna Idlet

Shell-ebrate!

As summer is nearing the end we thought it would be fun to sneak in one more summer card! This card by  Donna features the adorable Newton's Sand Dollar Stamp Set along with our Seaside Paper Pad and Fractured Card Layout Die Set.

For this card Donna cut out the shapes using the Fractured Card Layout Die Set twice. She cut it out once using the gray seashell paper from the Seaside Paper Pad and once from a piece of light gray cardstock. To get the second shade of darker gray on the center piece she ink blended it over it with gray ink.  

She stamped and colored the images of Newton and the seashells from the Newton's Sand Dollar Stamp Set. She used neutral colors for the seashells and orange for Newton to add a fun pop of color! She cut the image out using the coordinating Newton's Sand Dollar Die Set and added him to her card. 

Last, she cut out a black stitched banner using our Banner Duo Die Set and stamped the "Shell-ebrate" message using a stamp from our Seashell Roundabout Stamp Set. This sentiment goes perfectly with the seaside images!

Shell-ebrate! Summer Shaker Card by Farhana Sarker

Shell-ebrate!

Today Farhana is shaking up some fun at the beach with a shaker card using our new Seaside products! 

For this card she started out by coloring the cute kitty image from our Newton's Sand Dollar Stamp Set. 

For the summer scene she cut a curved edge for her sandy beach and then added some brown ink along the edge and paint splatters for texture. She stamped the message "Shell-ebrate!" from the Seashell Roundabout Stamp Set along the bottom of the sand. 

Next she worked on her shaker background. She used a piece of bubble filled paper from our Seaside Paper Pad and slid it into a clear shaker sleeve. For this you could use a clear cellophane bag or envelope. Or you could create your own using some leftover plastic from a product's packaging. She then added some sequins and tiny little fish shapes into her shaker pocket. 

Then she layered the image of Newton and the beach scene over the shaker background. What a fun card!

Retro Summer Card by Samantha Mann

Retro Summer Card

Today we are sharing a beautiful (and simple) summer card by Samantha featuring our Retro Sun & Palms Stencil Set! 

If you know Samantha's work you know she loves beautiful bright colors but on this card she chose a more muted color palette to fit the retro theme and it is truly gorgeous!  The Retro Sun & Palms Stencil Set includes two pieces. The first piece has the big circle for the sun and the second piece includes trees and seagulls. The two pieces layer perfectly together for a fun summer scene. Samantha started with a kraft cardstock base and then stenciled the sun with lines through it, carefully blending the colors across the image.

Then she used the second stencil and added trees with white texture paste and glitter! So pretty!

The gulls were added in the upper corner using black ink. To finish it off she added the sentiment from the Seashell Roundabout Stamp Set, stamped and embossed onto a vellum banner that was cut out using our Banner Trio Die Set.

What a fun retro card! Plus, we love simple this card is to create. The stencils complete the scene and then you just need to add a sentiment.

Hello Summer Card Set by Samantha Mann

Hello Summer! 

Today we are getting the the summer mood with a series of gorgeous seashell cards by Samantha!

To create these beautiful cards she started by stamping and embossing the large circle of seashells from our Seashell Roundabout Stamp Set. After the images were embossed in white she added bursts of color over them using powdered watercolor pigments. These watercolor powders are perfect for creating random areas of color just by adding water. Every card looks so unique and pretty! She also added some white and gold paint splatters. Each card was then finished off with the "Hello Summer" greeting, also from the Seashell Roundabout Stamp Set. She embossed the greeting in gold one banners that were cut out using our Banner Trio Die Set.

Trio of Inky Seashell Cards by Amanda Wilcox

 

Celebrate Summer!

Today we are sharing a trio of inky summer cards by Amanda that are perfect for celebrating summer moments!

To create this fun trio she started with watercolor paper and Tombow markers and created some ink smooshed backgrounds in three different color combinations. Sometimes it's just fun to play around and make inky backgrounds, right!? 

Next, she stamped the big circle image from our Seashell Roundabout Stamp Set using VersaFine Black ink over each inky background. She used our Circle Frames Die Set to cut the images out into scalloped circle shapes. Then she used pages from our Summertime Paper Pad to create pretty patterned background that coordinated with the colors on each circle. She cut the papers out using our Frames & Flags Die Set to give them the scalloped edges. Then, she added messages to each card using sentiments from the Seashell Roundabout Stamp Set, embossed in white onto black banners that were cut out using our  Banner Trio Die Set. A bit of sheer ribbon and a few black enamel dots finish off each card.

We love this fun idea of inking backgrounds to create a series of cards that are similar, yet each individual! Plus, it's so fun to get inky!

Seaside Summer Note Cards by Samantha Mann

Seaside Summer Notes! 

Get ready for summer with gorgeous colors and stencils! Today Samantha is featuring both on a gorgeous set of cards!

For her cards she created backgrounds that look like a beach using alcohol inks. Then she layered seashells along the shores using our Seashells Stencil with white texture paste. Next she sprinkled sparkly sand colored embossing powder over the top and once the paste was dry she heat set the powder. What an awesome effect! It looks like sparkly sand at the beach! 

The final step was to emboss a few sentiments. She cut out banners from kraft colored cardstock using our Banner Trio Die Set and then embossed sentiments from our Seashell Roundabout Stamp Set and Heartfelt Blooms Stamp Set onto the banners. 

Sam is going to use these notes as end of year teacher cards! How awesome!

Shell-ebrate Card by Tina Herbeck

Shell-ebrate!

Today we are sharing a fun beach themed card by Tina that is perfect for any summer celebration!

She starts out by creating an awesome seashell filled background using our Seashell Roundabout Stamp Set. She stamps the big circle image of seashells multiple times, lining it up to fill the space and embosses it in white. The she adds inks over the top using blues along the top and brown tones on the bottom to create a fun land and sea theme! She cuts the panel out using our Frames & Flags Die Set. 

This fun background is the perfect setting for the image of the kitty listening to the seashell from our Newton's Seashell Stamp Set. She colored the image in neutral colors, adding striped details to the kitty and stippled dots onto the seashell. So pretty! The image was cut out using the coordinating Newton's Seashell Die Set. She adds a banner that says "Shell-ebrate" using the sentiment from the Seashell Roundabout Stamp Set. She embossed it in gold onto a white banner that was die cut using our Banner Trio Die Set. 

The last amazing detail is a subtle texture on the white background layer. She used our Seashell Stencil and added pressure by sending it through a die cutting machine to achieve this effect. Look closely at the photo above to see it. This panel was also die cut out using our Frames & Flags Die Set to give it the stitched and scalloped edge. 

There are so many fun occasions you could use a card like this for. How about a summer birthday, wedding or anniversary? The options are endless!

Shell-ebrate Card by Farhana Sarker

Shell-ebrate!

Today we are sharing a fun under the sea card by Farhana! This adorable card would be perfect for a birthday or to celebrate any event this summer! 

She created a fun seashell background featuring our new Seashell Roundabout Stamp Set. She took the big circle image and embossed it in white and added blue ink over the top. Then she cut it into a square. What a great way to get more milage out of the circular image. 

For the rest of the card, she features products from our Retiring Products category! That cute Narwhal and all the colorful fish are from our retiring Narly Mermaids Stamp Set. She used the coordinating  Narly Mermaids Die Set to cut them out (also retiring). Then, for that fun subtle texture in the background she used our Tropical Fish Stencil, dry embossing it by passing it through a die cutting machine. 

She added the sentiment "Shell-ebrate" from the new Seashell Roundabout Stamp Set to finish the scene.

Trio of Summer Cards by Samantha Mann

Hello Summer!

This trio of gorgeous cards by Samantha are perfect for celebrating summer! 

To create these amazing cards, Samantha created panels of fun sea themed colors using alcohol inks, adding some gold mixatives to the alcohol ink backgrounds to add some shine. Then, on each card front she added an edge of seashells that were added on using our Seashells Stencil along with white texture paste. For the sentiment she chose "Hello Summer" from our new Seashell Roundabout Stamp Set, embossed in white onto banners that were cut out using our Banner Trio Die Set. So pretty!
