Let the Good Times Roll Card by Jennifer Jackson

Let the good times Roll Card by Jennifer Jackson | Naughty Newton Stamp Set, Cycling Friends Stamp Set, Heartfelt Meows Stamp Set, Serene Stripes Stencil and various Shape Dies by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook #handmade

Let the Good Times Roll!

Hello! Jen here today and I'm sharing a fun cat themed birthday card that is sure to make the recipient smile!

To create this card I started by stamping the kitty unrolling the toilet paper from our Naughty Newton Stamp Set. Isn't this image so funny? I added stripes to the kitty and some white gel pen accents too. Then I cut the image out using the coordinating Naughty Newton Die Set

I was looking through my stamps and decided that it would be fun to make this image into a birthday card by pairing it with the cat themed birthday sentiment from our Heartfelt Meows Stamp Set and the message "let the good times roll" from our Cycling Friends Stamp Set. Doesn't that go perfectly with the unrolled toilet paper!? I cut out the sentiments using the Banner Trio Die Set for the blue banner and the circle from the Frames Squared Die Set for the stitched circle shape.

I then made a little setting for the cat using our Serene Stripes Stencil to make a wallpaper and a piece of gray for a floor.  I cut both pieces out into a smaller rounded square using our Frames Squared Die Set. The large scalloped rectangle is that frames the whole layout is from our Frames & Flags Die Set

I hope that this card made you smile today! And don't forget to look at the stamps you have and try mixing and matching the sentiments from different sets to create fun new ideas!

Always On My Mind Card by June Guest Designer Melissa Andrew

Hi ya everyone! Melissa here to share my last card as a Newton’s Nook guest!  I had so much fun creating with these adorable stamps, dies and stencils. Today is no exception as I used the Naughty Newton Stamp SetNewton’s Birdbath Stamp Set, and the Clouds Stencil.

Always on my Mind Kitty Card by June Guest Designer Melissa Andrew | Naughty Newton Stamp Set, Newton's Birdbath Stamp Set and Clouds Stencil by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook #handmade

First, I stamped little Naughty Newton and his flower pots in alcohol marker safe ink. Next, I masked him off and stamped Newton playing in a birdbath over top.  The mask prevents the lines from stamping on the image in the front.

I then colored the image in alcohol markers.  I wanted to also create grass beneath their little feet.  I then cut a piece of paper to an A2 size and used a blending brush and a light blue ink with the Clouds Stencil to create a cloudy sky. I then cut this panel down to a 4 x 5.25 inch panel.

I then used the little butterfly from Newton’s Birdbath to stamp onto the cloud background and cut out the image of the kitty and the birdbath to pop up onto the cloud background.

Last, I colored the butterflies, stamped a sentiment and popped up the kittens with foam tape.  I then adhered the panel to an A2 white card base.

Got TP? Card by Nakaba Rager

Got TP? Card by Nakaba Rager | Naughty Newton Stamp Set, Essential Alphabet Die Set and Confetti Stencil by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook #handmade

Got TP?

Today's card by Naki is sure to make you laugh! As we have been seeing stores with empty toilet paper shelves because people were afraid they might run out during the days of the pandemic, we  could use a laugh and this adorable card by Naki provides just that!

For this whimsical card she used the kitty unraveling the toilet paper from our Naughty Newton Stamp Set. She colored the kitty with a fun stripe pattern to look like her own kitty. She cut the image our using the coordinating Naughty Newton Die Set. For the background she created a blue inked background and added some texture using our Confetti Stencil. This set also includes other shapes but she applied the paste carefully to just add in the streamers.  The finishing touch is the words "Got TP?" added on by cutting out letters using our Essential Alphabet Die Set.

This is such a fun idea! I'm sure anyone who was sent this card in the mail would definitely smile!

Tea-Rex Birthday Party Card by Nakaba Rager | Tea Rex Stamp Set and Sunscape and Confetti Stencils by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook #handmade

ParTEA Rex!

This adorable card by Naki today will make you laugh!  She used our cute new dino holding tea from our Tea-Rex Stamp Set for the image. She colored him and cut him out with the coordinating Tea-Rex Die Set. Then she made a hilarious sentiment by paring the "TEA-REX" words from this set along with the "Par" from the word party from our Naughty Newton Stamp Set  to make a "ParTEA-Rex! So funny!

For her card background she used our Sunscape Stencil to create the grey rays and added some birthday confetti with embossing paste and our Confetti Stencil. She also added a party hat onto the dino using a hat die cut from our Balloon Shaker Die Set!

This card is so unique and fun for a birthday party! Thank you for the smiles today, Naki! If you like this project you can see more of Naki's work  you over on her blog, Notes from Naki. Stop by and say hello!

Enjoy the Little Things Card by Nakaba Rager | Naughty Newton Stamp Set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook #handmade

Enjoy the Little Things!

Today we are sharing a sweet spring kitty card by Naki! She used the kitty tipping over the plants from our Naughty Newton Stamp Set. She colored the kitty and pots in soft colors using no-line coloring and trimmed out the image using the Naughty Newton Die Set to add it to her card. For the card she die cute a little stitched rectangle panel using the Frames & Flags Die Set created a scene with grass and sky using loose watercoloring. Happy Halloween Card by October Guest Designer Waleska Galinda

Hello Friends!!! Waleska here... and for today's card poor Newton was so scared he jumped to the wall.  Every time I make scene cards, I try to think on a special scenario and work with my images! Let me share with you how I created this one:

Happy Halloween Card by October Guest Designer Waleska Galinda | Creepy Cameos and Naughty Newton stamp sets by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook

CARD DETAILS:

I wanted to create a scene with a spooky wall with Newton hanging because he is so scared after seeing that spooky frame or mirror.  I cut a cream cardstock for the front of my card and sponge the edges with Walnut Stain Distress Ink.  To make the down part of the wall I used a score board and score every 1/2 inch to create a wall texture and sponge it again with Walnut Stain Distress Ink to accentuate the raised lines.  I cut a strip of cardstock in the same color and adhere it to the scored panel with foam.

After I had my wall I stamped the spooky frame from the Creepy Cameos Stamp Set with Versafine ink and added clear embossing powder, for the inside part of the frame I used gray cardstock to simulate glass and stamped the creepy skull that scares Newton.  Finally I added the very frightened Newton from a non halloween stamp set called Naughty Newton to the wall and I added the sentiment from Newtons Costume Party Stamp Set.

I hope you like my card and I could inspire you to create and think outside box with your stamps to create fun scenes!  I hope you have a great starting week!

Naughty Newton Card by July Guest Designer Cynde Whitlow

Hey folks!

I'm back for my third post in my guest design series for Newton's Nook! Woot!

I gotta be honest, the card I'm sharing with you today is extremely ambitious. It was loads of fun and worth every bit of work that was put in to it. HOWEVER! Don't be intimidated by it. I went totally over the top, but this would be doable on a standard 4.25"x5.5" card panel and just as cute!

Naughty Newton Card by July Guest Designer Cynde Whitlow | Naughty Newton, Hanging Around, Lovely Blooms and Versatile Vases Stamp sets by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook #handmade

did have had plan mapped out before I started making this card. I knew I would be working with quite a few stamps sets and let's be honest folks, 4"x9" is a pretty big canvas. I was really excited to be able to use 4 stamps set though. I don't get to do that very often. On this card I used: Hanging Around, Naughty Newton, Lovely Blooms and the Versatile Vases Stamp Set.

I started by using a ruler and lightly tracing a line just about the bottom edge of my card panel. I needed this to make sure all of my stamps would line up and I would get the proper perspective. Of course, I couldn't help myself I ended up adding an entire frame. What d'ya do?

To save myself a little bit of time, I cut multiple masks out of all of the images. All of them folks. It is a lot, but the trick is to layer 2 pieces of masking paper. Stamp the one on top and cut out both at the same time.

Naughty Newton Card by July Guest Designer Cynde Whitlow | Naughty Newton, Hanging Around, Lovely Blooms and Versatile Vases Stamp sets by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook #handmade

There was only one stamp I had do make a special accommodation for. This was the stamp from the Naughty Newton Stamp Set. It's the one where Newton is sitting next to the pot that's been knocked over. Since I had cut out 2 masks of this image, I took one and carefully trimmed Newton from around the pot. I left the other mask intact.

I placed my panel in a stamp positioning tool and placed the 2 piece mask on the panel where I planned on stamping my image. Then I placed the stamp over the top of the mask. I made extra sure it was line up properly. When I had it where I wanted it, I removed the pot portion of the mask, leaving Newton in place. I didn't ink the entire stamp, I went a little over onto Newton, but it's no big because we have a mask in place. I removed the mask and with a Copic Multiliner, I drew in the rest of the pot.

For the rest of the stamping, I stamped the rest of the images that are in the front, then started working my way backwards. The other trick for something this size is to work from both ends towards the middle of the panel. Stamp as many images at one time as possible. It's a huge time saver aaaaand it really helps to give you an idea where spaces need to be filled. The Versatile Vases Stamp Set has lots of choices and fillers for this!

After all of my images were stamped, I colored them all in with Copic's. The largest jar is from Lovely Blooms Stamp Set and the hanging Newton is from the Hanging Around Stamp Set. They fit together perfectly!

To finish it off, I added some detail with a Signo Uni-Ball White Gel Pen and a Clear Sakura Glaze Pen. Also, no card is complete without a little bit of Clear Wink of Stella. Here is where we call it a day.

I hope you enjoyed my card today and thanks so much for stopping by to see me!

Until next time!
