This was a tough one, for sure, but we were AMAZED by all the creative things everyone did with just one layer! The challenge entries were so awesome this month! THANK YOU to everyone who entered!  It's always hard to choose a winner!

Our first winner is this gorgeous trio of Tags by Tatiana! We love how she tried watercoloring them in different ways - they all turned out so beautiful!! She used the Basket of Wishes and Bunny Hop Stamp sets. 

Our second winner is this awesome card by Dawn from the little mennonite. We really love the intense colorful background she created with watercolors! It's so bright and fun! She use our Newton's Summer Vacation stamp set.

Inky Paws #19 Favorites

Since there were so many beautiful heart cards, we chose THREE more as our favorite picks! If you see your card below, contact us if you'd like to get a "favorite" badge for your blog!

This adorable card by Melissa made us smile - we love how the pig is flipping across that fun watercolor background! So Adorable! The stamps she used are from the Farmyard Friends stamp set. 

We love the "spotlight" technique that Anja did on her card - using grays for most of the card and then spotlighting with bright colors inside the heart! What a fun idea!! She used the Just say Cheese and Newton's Antics stamp sets to create this card. 

This card by Vicki is also has some really fun watercoloring going on - we loved that background with the layers and splotches of watercolor! She used our cute little birdie stamp set - Tweet Talk.

Hi, my name is Chitra and I live in Detroit, Michigan with my husband 'Arun'. I have been into coloring and crafting in some form all my life. I came into card-making world in 2012 and since then I've come across many new stamp companies, new techniques, new blogs, amazing products over the years. I love coloring it doesn't matter what coloring medium it is, It is simply relaxing for me, love some bright and fun designs. I started blogging in September(2012) in order to join some awesome challenges and I became totally hooked. Hello Birdie Card by Larissa Heskett

Another super fun card  by Larissa today

Today I get to share this super sweet card by Design Team Member Larissa Heskett!  She created this card using the birdhouse from one of our newest stamp sets, Tweet Talk and combined it with the little hello sentiment and birdies from the Winged Wishes set! Isn't it cute how that bird house hangs right from the letter "o"? So fun! Plus I just LOVE woodgrain on cards too!

Two Tweet Bird Cards!

Have a Tweet Day!!

I admit - I'm feeling a bit of spring fever. I'm so glad it's March - It's been such a cold yucky winter and I can't wait for it to be spring. In anticipation of spring today I 'm share a couple fun cards I made using the new mini 3 x4 stamp set, Tweet Talk!  Here's the set - Isn't it adorable?

And here is the first card I made - Did you know that funny little stamp that looks like a weird shaped "o" is for making a loop to hang the houses from the branch? See how cute that is?

Sometime's when I'm on a roll with a color palette I'll make a couple of cards that use the same paper/colors - and that's what happened here. I started out by stamping some images on watercolor paper using archival ink (waterproof) and then colored the images with Distress Markers and a water brush.  I chose a color palette of melon, yellow, green and blue and then found some paper and sequins that matched!  For the first card I created a scene with one little birdie on a branch.

For the second card I created a similar scene but this time instead of one bird, I chose to use two (Isn't it fun how this set has two little birds that can face each other?) Then I stamped a house for them and used the "you're tweet" sentiment.

I added on some burlap and a doily along with the patterned paper and sequins for this one! I really love how these two cards turned out! 

Doesn't this make you ready for spring? I can't wait to open the windows and hear the birds singing! 

Inky Paws Challenge #7 - Go Green!

Happy Friday and the the first day of #07 Inky Paws Challenge!  This month's challenge is Go Green!

With upcoming spring weather (I hope) and St. Patricks day just around the corner I thought this green ombre cake image would be fun inspiration! You can use any shade of green on your card (other colors are ok as long as Green is the primary color) and any Newton's Nook Designs Stamps! 

Are you ready to get your paws inky with us and play along to win a prize? I love the green watercolor background on this card by our Guest Designer, Debbie Owens! She used our new stamp set, Winston's Birthday!

Our Guest Designer, Chrissie Tobas also did a watercolor background on her card featuring Newton's Birthday Bash! I love how this turned out too!  

 Design Team Member Danielle used our Dino Set, Prehistoric Pals to create this fun green scene! 

 This cute kitty card by Samantha Mann makes me smile! I love the sentiment she created to go with the kitty from Newton's Antics! Plus the green box is adorable!

Larissa Heskett is so good at combining stamps from different sets! She use the owl from Sweetheart Tails, the Branch and birdcage from Tweet Talk and the "hey there" from Love à la Carte!

For this fun "green" card Design Team Member Tessa Wise used the fun dragon from our Magical Dreams stamp set! I love the little bits of colored tape too! 

This fun card is by Design Team Member Christine Drogt. Christine used the bear from our Halloween set, Boo Crew and made it into a get well card! Such a fun idea!

Here's one from me :) I used some fun arrow washi tape and gave the kitty from Newton's Birthday Bash a stack of paper pierced green gifts! 

Another one by me - I couldn't resist using the newly- named Winston! I used the Winston's Birthday Stamp set to create this fun green scene!
