Happy Birthday Macaroon Card by Tatiana Trafimovich

Macaroons for a birthday treat!

Today we have a birthday card by Tatiana that will tickle your sweet tooth! For her card today she created a whole stack of macaroons using our Love & Chocolate Stamp Set. She colored them in a rainbow of colors and cut them out using the coordinating Love & Chocolate Die Set. She stacked the images in a tall stack and added some twine around it! So cute!

For the background of this card she chose a kraft cardstock and added the Happy Birthday message up the side in black. She used the "Happy" from the Simply Seasonal Stamp Set and the "birthday" is from our It's a Plan Stamp Set. She also embellished the background with hearts from those two sets, embossed in white.

Make Every Day a Beach Day Card by Samantha Mann

A Beach Day in January!

How's the weather where you live? Is your January cold or warm? If you have a cold January this card by Samantha will warm you up today! She used the palm tree image from the Paradise Palms stamp and inked it up in green and brown to create two colors with one stamp! So cool! I love how she added some watercolor splashes for the water and some for the sun too! Then she stamped the word "summer" repeatedly from the Simply Seasonal stamp set in grey and added the "Make every day a Beach Day"  from the Aloha Newton stamp set in black! What a fun summery card. This card makes me want to take a tropical vacation to get away from the cold weather here!

Happy Birthday!

Cards by Yukari always make me smile and this one is no exception! She used the cute raccoon hanging from the branch from the Raccoon Rascals stamp set and fussy cut him out to put him in front of that lovely starry sky! She also added googly eyes on him which gives such a fun bit of whimsy to the card! For the sentiment, she use the big word "Happy" from the Simply Seasonal stamp set and added the smaller "birthday" below it. This is such a fun card!

Sadly we have another farewell today. This is Yuki's last post as a Design Team member! We have really enjoyed having her on our team for the last year and were a fan of her work even before that!  Her cards always make us smile! She has such clever combinations of images and uses stunning color combos! We are so sad to see her go but we've enjoyed having her be part of our team! We definitely wish her the very best in her future endeavors and will be checking out her blog Handmade by Yuki often to say hello and we hope you will too!

Happy Christmas Card by Jess Gerstner

Happy Christmas with Coffee!

Today Jess combined several NND sets to create this adorable Christmas card! She started out embossing some snowflakes from our Beautiful Blizzard stamp set onto some pretty woodgrain paper. She added on that adorable kitty hugging his coffee mug from our Newton Loves Coffee stamp set and finished it off with the "Happy Christmas" sentiment created using words from our Simply Seasonal set. This card is so perfect for Christmas with all the neutral colors and the pop of red and green!

Jess created a video for this card too! 

This week we are sharing several goodbyes as we are having a new Design Team starting in January! This post will be the last post for Jess as a Design Team Member! We've really enjoyed all her fun creations and videos over the last couple of years!

Although this is Jess's last post as on the Newton's Nook Design Team she's still going to be hanging out with us in 2017 to help out with our Inky Paws Challenges! In the new year we're going to switch up our challenges a bit so stay tuned for some exciting new changes!

First is the adorable duo of card by Yuki! She used our Newton's Holiday Mischief stamp set and created two cards with the same layout but different colors and images! This would be a fun way to create a set of cards to give as a gift! What a creative idea! 

Next is this lovely snowflake card by Jess! She used our big swirly snowflakes from the Beautiful Blizzard stamp set and added in a fun custom sentiment using the words from our Simply Seasonal stamp set! To see a video on this card, click here!

Anniversary Card by Danielle Pandeline

Cheers!!

This anniversary card by Danielle is so fun and colorful! She used the cute little champagne glasses  and the word Anniversary from the Years of Cheers stamp set, embossing them in white. She also embossed the big "Happy" from our Simply Seasonal stamp set. If you haven't checked out the Simply Seasonal stamp set, make sure you do - it's perfect for making custom sentiments all year long! I love the fun layers of distress inks over the embossing. And the metallic gold splatters really give a elegant and fun finishing touch!

May Flowers Blog Hop!

Happy Flowers Blog Hop!

Since April showers bring May flowers we decided it was a good excuse to have a May Flowers Blog Hop! You are at the first stop of the hop so make sure to click through all the Design Team Members posts - they are all featuring flower cards on their blogs today with Newton's Nook Designs stamps! And of course there will be prizes (scroll down to the end of the post to see how to win) YAY! 

Here's what I created:

I used our Beautiful Blossoms stamp set to create a fun watercolor Mother's Day card! I stamped the three flowers from the Beautiful Blossoms stamp set onto yellow, pink and orange colored cardstock and embossed them with white embossing powder. Then I used the Beautiful Blossoms Die Set to cut them out. I wanted to use larger leaves than the stamp set had so I used the die that goes with the flower with the pointed edges and then cut it apart where the petals would have been to create leaves. 

I added all three flowers and leaves to a watercolor background that I had created using Ken Oliver color bursts. Then I embossed the word "Happy" from the Simply Seasonal stamp set right over the watercolor with white embossing powder. I also embossed the "Mother's Day" from the Simply Seasonal stamp set onto a little strip of black cardstock and added it underneath. (I stole this idea from Samantha's bee card from last week - you can see it here)

Sweet Giraffes for Mother's Day!

Awww! Today we have this adorable Mother's Day Card by Crafty Math-Chick! She used our sweet Giraffe mother and baby image from our Wild Child stamp set to make this animal themed card. I love the added animal print background paper! She finished it off with the "Happy Mother's Day" sentiments from the Simply Seasonal stamp set! Any mother would go wild for this card!

Bunny Week Cards - day 1:

Today we have bunny inspiration from Jess and Lydia!

Jess created two fun cards using our Garden Whismy stamp set! I love how she used the same design on both, creating a fun background using the smaller leaf and flower from this set. Yet they look so different, just because of the colors she used! Super fun! She also used our Simply Seasonal stamp set for the "Happy easter" sentiment. 

Lydia also used the bunny from our Garden Whismy stamp set. For her card, she stamped the bunny with white ink on kraft colored cardstock and colored her with colored pencils! Isn't this so pretty? I love the soft pastel effect this has! She added in the "plant smiles" sentiment, also from the from our Garden Whismy stamp set.

Happy Spring Card by Kimberly Rendino

Happy Spring!

Is it feeling like spring yet in your neighborhood? It's supposed to snow here today in Wisconsin so I'm really enjoying this beautiful spring card by Kimberly! She this lovely card using all those fun swirly blooms from our Beautiful Blossoms stamp set. It's so pretty how she stamped the images in ombé colors! I also love the light blue outline - it really makes them pop. Then she added the "Happy Spring" using words from our Simply Seasonal stamp set! I hope if you are still having winter weather like us, this card will cheer you today!

Happy Mother's Day Penguin Card by Jess Gerstner

Sweet Penguins for Mother's Day! 

Awww! What mom wouldn't love this adorable mother's day card by Jess? She used the sweet little penguin mother and chick from our Wild Child stamp set and fussy cut them out to add to her card! I love the colors on this card. The basic black and white with the pop of bright pink and red on the oval really creating a stunning combo!

For the sentiment she used the fun big "happy" and "mother's day" from the Simply Seasonal stamp set! This set is one you can use all year long to make custom sentiments for any Holiday or Occassion! Just mix and match the different "happy" stamps with all the included words!

Here is an adorable Valentine by Jess! She used the cute frog image and "Hoppy Valentine's Day" sentiment from our Hoppy Days Stamp set!  I love how the colors pop off the black background!

Samantha used the cute pup from our Fetching Friendship stamp set for her love-themed creation! Pet lovers will definitely agree that LOVE is a four-legged word! 

Here is delightful Valentine by Yukari! That sweet kitty image, eiffel tower and hot air balloons are from the Newton Dreams of Paris stamp set. I love the scene she created with them! Then she added the "Happy Valentine's Day" sentiment using our Simply Seasonal stamp set! 

Here is an adorable Love card by Stephanie featuring our elephant image from the Wild about Zoo stamp set. I love the big pink bow and the  "Will ZOO be mine?" sentiment on the wood!

This sweet card by Danielle is purr-fect for Valentines Day! This image from the new Darling Duos stamp set is perfect to go with the "I just want to Snuggle" sentiment that Danielle created!

The rainbow hearts on this card by Kimberly look good enough to eat! She used our new Darling Hearts die to cut out the hearts and the "thinking of you" sentiment is from our Whispering Pines stamp set!

And lastly, here is what I created. I used the love birds from our new Darling Duos stamp set and colored them bright colored copics. I cut them out with the coordinating Darling Hearts die set. I also added the small heart & "love" sentiment from the die set.

Happy Valentine's Day Card by Kimberly Rendino

Valentine Kitty Kisses!

Today I'm sharing this sweet Valentine kitty card by Kimberly! I love how she used the kissing kitties from our Newton's Christmas Cuddles stamp set to create a Valentine. Even though this set was released at Christmas, most of the images in it were designed so that they could be used for other occasions too - Birthdays, Valentines, Anniversaries - I love the versatility it has!  She also used the coordinating  Newton's Christmas Cuddles die set  to cut out those kitties! I really LOVE that pretty pink watercolor background too!

To create the custom sentiment, Kimberly used our Simply Seasonal stamp set. This is another very versatile set since it has a ton of holidays and seasons on it!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Today I'm sharing this super cute Thanksgiving card by Danielle. She used our favorite kitty, Newton, from the Newton's Antics stamp set and the "happy" and "Thanksgiving" words from our  Simply Seasonal stamp set! I love all the tiny colored dots behind the words! This is such a simple way to add color to the card and it looks so fun! It's super cute how she added a few dots onto the kitty too to tie him in!

Happy Holidays! 

Here is a super sweet Holiday card by Jess! She used our fun new Simply Seasonal stamp set to stamp the "Happy" and "Holidays" and added to the letter y to create a place for the cute kissing birds from our Holiday Smooches stamp set! This is such a cute idea! I also love all those pretty snowflakes stamped in white on the kraft cardstock! That cute little snowflake is also part of the Simply Seasonal stamp set! This set is so fun with the big words and the added in little images - I love how versatile it is!

Here's a sweet little pillow box by Larissa! I love the red sparkle she added on the snowflake tag from the Jolly Tags stamp set! She also used red sparkle on the word merry from the Holiday Wishes stamp set. 

Danielle created this adorable penguin Holiday card! she used our new our new Simply Seasonal stamp set for the big "happy Holidays" and added the sweet penguins from the Wild Child stamp set - so cute!! I love that gold background too!

Here's a beautiful snowflake card by Jess! I love the embossed white on the Kraft paper - it makes the white really pop off! What a fun way to showcase our Beautiful Blizzard stamp set!

I love those sparkly snowflake tags on this card by Samantha. She used our new Jolly Tags stamp set and Tags Times Two die set!

Here is an awesome Happy New Year Card by Kimberly! I love the gold countdown on the side of the card!! She used our Years of Cheers stamp set for the numbers and champagne glasses and added the sentiments from the new Simply Seasonal stamp set.

Nina-Marie created this awesome winter scene using our Newton's Curious Christmas stamp set for the main images. She also used the sentiments from the Newton's Christmas Cuddles stamp set. If you look close you can find some snowflakes from the Fox Hollow stamp set and gifts from the Holiday Wishes stamp set! I love that gold striped background too!

Here's what I created! I used the Beautiful Blizzard stamp set to create gold and white snowflakes over a Kraft background and then added the "Happy Holidays" sentiment from our new Simply Seasonal Stamp set.
