Giant Panda Wishes Card by Samantha Mann

Panda Love!

If you like pandas you will fall in love with this adorable card by Samantha! For this fun card she created a trio of tumbling pandas using the image from our Playful Pandas Stamp Set. She stamped the images in black and added a little bit of shading and pink on the feet. She cut the images out using our Playful Pandas Die Set. She rotated the pandas in different directions and gave them balloons and hats stamped from our Fabulous Frenchies Stamp Set and cut them out with the Fabulous Frenchies Die Set. 

To make a fun setting for the pandas, she cut out a frame using our Slimline Frames & Portholes Die Set. Then she added three squares of clouds over it that were cut out using our Slimline Frames & Windows Die Set. For the squares, she added orange and yellow distress ink backgrounds and textured clouds using our Cloudy Sky Stencil. 

She finished it off with sentiments from our Holding Happiness Stamp Set. She embossed the sentiments in white on black cardstock and fussy cut around them to pop them off her card! 

This card is so adorable and filled with fun!

Birthday Wish Card by Tatiana Trafimovich

Make a Wish! 

Today we have an adorable birthday card by Tatiana that is perfect for sending a sweet birthday wish! She started by coloring the kitty from our Newton's Antics Stamp Set in gray and adding dark gray stripes. She also stamped and colored a balloon from our Playful Pandas Stamp Set. Then she carefully fussy cut out the kitty and balloon to add to her card. She used our Essential Alphabet Die Set to cut out the letters to spell "wish" and used the kitty to in place of the letter "i". In the background she used our Clouds Stencil with light pink ink to create a soft clouds. The stitched rectangle panel was cut out using our Frames & Flags Die Set and she added a scalloped edge using our Sky Borders Die Set. This card is so sweet and pretty and would make anyone smile!

For her adorable Valentine, Andrea used two of the owls from the new Love Owl-ways Stamp Set. Isn't it cute how the one is flying in with a love note to give the other? She also added in a branch and leaves using our What a Hoot Stamp Set. 

This card by Larissa is so soft and pretty! She featured the owl carrying a love note from the new Love Owl-ways Stamp Set. Then she created that lovely sky using hearts from our Tumbling Hearts Stencil along with clouds cut out using our Sky Borders Die Set. She also added a scalloped panel to frame the whole scene using our Frames & Flags Die Set.

Zsofia featured three of the owls from our new Love Owl-ways Stamp Set on her card today. It's so cute how she created three stripes of pink and added one owl to each strip along with a sentiment from the set! What a fun way to showcase all three images when you can't decide which one to use! 

Maria created this cheerful owl card using the new Love Owl-ways Stamp Set. She featured the image of the owl couple from the new set sitting on a branch from our What a Hoot Stamp Set. The sunny background behind them was added using our Sunscape Stencil and it gives the card such a warm and cozy feeling!

This cute owl is bringing mail to Newton! How fun is that? Amanda created this fun scene using the owl carrying a love note from our new Love Owl-ways Stamp Set combined with Newton in the mailbox from our Newton's Happy Mail Stamp Set. She also used our Frames & Flags Die Set for the banner that holds the sentiment and for the Scallop edged border. 

The owls are so cute floating in the purple sky on this card by Samantha! She used the two owls from the new Love Owl-ways Stamp Set and colored them with adorable pink accents on their wings and bellies! Then she created a lovely sky full of fluffy purple clouds, using a cut out of our Sky Borders Die Set as a mask for the ink. She added the sentiment, embossed on a stripe of vellum to finish the dreamy scene. 

The owl on this card by Naki has SO MANY balloons! She created this delightful scene using the owl from the new Love Owl-ways Stamp Set. She stamped a bunch of extra heart balloons using the same image and some creative masking! Plus, don't you love the sparkle on the balloons? She also used the stitched rectangle from our Frames & Flags Die Set for the background panel and added in two little clouds from the Newton Scoots By Die Set.

Holly created an adorable cloudy sky scene using two of the owls from our new Love Owl-ways Stamp Set. She colored the owls with copics and added fun white gel pen details. For her sky, she used our Cloudy Sky Stencil with white embossing paste and added some blue ink to the center. So cute! 

This charming owl card by Tatiana is perfect for sending a love and happy mail! She used the owl holding a love letter from our new Love Owl-ways Stamp Set. Then she added in a whole bunch more letters using the Sending Hugs Stamp Set. So adorable!

Ellen created a playful interactive Valentine that is so fun to open! She featured one of the owls from our new Love Owl-ways Stamp Set on the front and then when you pull the card open, it flips to reveal one inside! Make sure you pop over to her blog today to see more photos. She also added in little pink clouds using our Cloud Sky Stencil and a layer of clouds across the bottom using our Sky Borders Die Set. She added in the word "love" from our Darling Hearts Die Set.

More than Bamboo Card by Larissa Heskett

More than Bamboo!

Happy Friday! Today we are sharing a super fun panda and bamboo card by Larissa! She created this adorable shaker card featuring the panda from our Playful Pandas Stamp Set, stamping the panda LOTS of bamboo! She colored the bamboo in shades of green and then she cut out the panda and all those little bamboo shoots using the coordinating Playful Pandas Die Set. She clustered all of the pieces inside a circle and added the shaker with sequins behind them! How adorable!

For her card base, she cut out the scallop edged panel using our Frames & Flags Die Set. To finish off the card she used the "I love you more than bamboo" Sentiment from the Playful Pandas Stamp Set and added that to the front panel along with some sweet little hearts! What a great card to send to someone you care about!

Playful Pandas Card by July Guest Designer Milene Tiberius

Today we have our first post from our June Guest Designer, Milene! You may have seen her work as @milenetiberius on Instagram. We feel in love with her adorable cards and are so happy to have her join us this month! We can't wait to share what she has created with our stamps! Keep reading to find out more about Milene today and to check out her first project below!

Hi all! my name is Milene. I was born and raised in southern Brazil. I now live in Indiana with my husband and fur babies - two cats and a dog. I have been a crafter since childhood, but have recently become a cardmaker. I am very excited to be guest designing along Newton's Nook talented team, and I can't wait to share my creations with you! You can find my handmade projects on Instagram, @milenetiberius. I love using NND products, so you may just find some inspiration!

Hi everyone - Milene here! 

Welcome to my very first blog post as the July guest designer. I'm so excited to have you here today!

I have a fun card to share with you, using the “Playful Pandas" stamp set from the June release. When I think of pandas, I always think of the color pink - not sure why. Maybe it is because I do like the warm color along the black and white.

With my color combo in mind, I created a background using the bamboo stick and the noodle bowl stamps. I used a handmade watercolor paper to add a nice texture to my card (I purchased this paper and did not make it myself).

The first step was to heat emboss the three columns of images on my card. I used Versafine ink and clear embossing powder. I decided to heat emboss because I was having trouble getting a clear impression on the very textured watercolor paper. That also does make watercoloring a little easier!

Once all of my images were stamped and heat embossed, I colored them in using Distress Oxides. I used Peeled Paint, Antique Linen and Vintage Photo on the bamboo and bowls. Next, I created three horizontal watercolor stripes on my background. I used Worn Lipstick Oxide ink, and I made sure to blend my stripes nicely into the background. I wanted a very smooth transition to white.

I did, however feel that my background needed a little more. I decided to use the little solid heart image from the same stamp set. I did first, second and third generation stamping all over my background, using the same Worn Lipstick ink. I made sure to stay mainly on the striped areas to preserve the white.

I set my background panel aside to dry while I worked on the little panda. I once again used handmade watercolor paper and heat embossed the image. I added a little shading to him, using Black Soot Distress ink and added pink to his cheeks and feet. I LOVE this little guy! He is just so sweet, and I thought he went perfect with this sentiment. I can totally relate to being nasty when hungry! I thought it would be fun to give him some food, so I colored an additional bowl for him to hold.

The sentiment is so fun, and I decided to keep it very simple, white heat embossing on black cardstock. To create a layer between my background and focal point, I added a die cut circle of a polka dot vellum I had in my stash.

My background was raised up using craft foam, and I used foam tape for my images and sentiment. I added liquid glue to the back of my vellum only behind the panda and the black cardstock. That way you cannot see the adhesive through the vellum.

That is all for me today! I hope you have learned something fun from my tutorial. I sure had a blast with the Playful Pandas Stamp Set!

Newton's Nook Designs & Xyron Inspiration Week - Day 5 with Tatiana & Ellen

This week we are partnering with Xyron for a very awesome inspiration week! First up is the a fun panda card by Tatiana

For her card, Tatiana used three cute pandas from our new Playful Pandas Stamp Set and cut them out using the coordinating Playful Pandas Die Set. She created the fun cloudy background using our Sky Borders Die Set. She added layers of clouds across the top and bottom and left a strip of Clear Acetate showing in the center. She cut out the letters to spell "PAOLO" using our Essential Alphabet Die Set. She used the 3" Sticker Maker from Xyron to create stickers with the letters. This is a great way to adhere letters to your projects without having lots of excess glue around the letters! She also used the Mega Runner from Xyron to adhere the other pieces of her card together.

Next, we have an adorable magnetic closure tag by Ellen:

To create this adorable tag Ellen used our Fancy Edges Tag Die Set to cut out a double tag (leaving the top part connected as a hinge. She decorated the front of her tag using our Serene Stripes Stencil to create a fun striped background. Then she added on the image of a lady holding a gift from our Holding Happiness Stamp Set. She also added on the word "wish" from our Balloon Shaker Die Set. She used the 1.5" Sticker Maker from Xyron to create a sticker with the wish die cut so that it was easy to adhere to her tag. She also added on the tiny word "big" using the Simply Relative Stamp Set.

For the Inside of the tag, she added the Happy Birthday to you sentiment from our Uplifting Wishes Stamp Set. She also added a strip of magnet across the bottom using Magnet Tape from Xyron to keep the tag closed. She also used the Mega Runner from Xyron to adhere the other parts of her tag together.

Naki used several of her favorite NND stamp sets to create fun stickers to add onto her big wall calendar to decorate the dates in July! She used the cute little BBQ grill from the Winston's BBQ Stamp Set, the kitty wearing a nurse hat and bottles of pills from the Newton's Sick Day, the kitty on a stack of books from the Newton's Book Club Stamp Set, sharks from the Shark Bites Stamp Set., cake from the Newton Loves Cake Stamp Set, balloons from the Playful Pandas Stamp Set, and die cut metallic arrows and feathers from the Points & Plumes Die Set.

To make the stickers, Naki die cut out the images using the coordinating die sets and then used the 1.5" Teresa Collins Create-A-Sticker Maker by Xyron to make them into sticker sheets! These are so fun too because you don't have to use them right away and can keep the stickers on their sheets until you are ready to add them to the calendar pages!

TWO new Stencil designs!

This month we're adding TWO new beautiful stencils to our product line! The Serene Stripes Stencil (below left) features rows of lines that will be perfect for creating backgrounds and textures! The Sunscape Stencil (below right) will become a fast favorite for creating cheerful landscapes and more. Use the stencil vertically on a card front to include the landscape with hills along the bottom. If you prefer to just use the sun rays, turn the stencil 90 degrees and the sun rays will fill your card front without the hills.

Amanda created this amazing card using three of the pandas from the Playful Pandas Stamp Set. She cut them out using the coordinating die set and added them scattered over the background that was created using the new Serene Stripes Stencil. 

This sweet panda card was created by Larissa. She used the tumbling panda from the Playful Pandas Stamp Set as her focal point and layered hi over a heart and a lovely distress inked background! She even added a tiny heart onto his butt! So cute!

Maria created this fun trio of bears in an fabulous shaker scene using the three panda images from the Playful Pandas Stamp Set. She used the new Sunscape Stencil with pink ink for the background and added layers of clouds for them to tumble in using the Sky Borders Die Set! And, of course, lots of bamboo too!

Isn't the panda so cute tumbling through the bamboo on this card by Holly? She used our new Playful Pandas Stamp Set for stamp the panda and bamboo and layered them over the fun background. The stripes in the background were created using our new Serene Stripes Stencil.

Hungry? This adorable card was created by Samantha. She used the fun bear with his bowl of noodles and bamboo from the new Playful Pandas Stamp Set. She added a fun distressed background and the "Sorry for what I said when I was hungry" sentiment! So fun!

The bear slides down the hill on this playful card by Naki! She created a background using our new Sunscape Stencil and layered a second hill along the bottom for the bear to slide on using our Land Borders Die Set. The cute panda is from the new Playful Pandas Stamp Set. What a fun interactive card!

Juliana created a trio of bears who are perfect for celebrating a birthday! She used the pandas and balloons from the new Playful Pandas Stamp Set and added in accessories from our Sending Hugs Stamp Set and birthday hats from our Newton Loves Cake Stamp Set. She added the "Big Wishes" Sentiment from our Holding Happiness Stamp Set and used the Confetti Stencil for her background! 

Ellen created this sweet panda card using the fun tumbling panda image from our new Playful Pandas Stamp Set. She paired him with some bamboo and the fun sentiment inside a heart shaped scene. Then she layered it over the fun striped background that was created using our new Serene Stripes Stencil. 

This delightful card by Tatiana is sure to make you smile! She used the panda, along with a trio of balloons and the bowl of noodles from our new Playful Pandas Stamp Set to make a cute little scene. She layered it over a circle that was stenciled using the new Serene Stripes Stencil along with some sequins and the "hey there" sentiment! It really pops off the white background!

This striking black and white card by Jennifer is so clever! She used a fun striped background and layered the cute panda and bamboo over it using our new Playful Pandas Stamp Set. Isn't it so cute how she added a bunch of bamboo for a fun pop of green?
