Happy Camper!

Today we are sharing an adorable camping scene created by Andrea! She used our adorable Cozy Campers Stamp Set to create the camper, table and chairs and flamingos. Aren't those tiny flamingos just the cutest!!? She colored the images using fun bright colors using copic markers and a white gel pen for extra accents! Then she cut all the images out using the Cozy Campers Die Set to add to her scene. For her scene she used our Land Borders Die Set to create a hill from lime green paper and layered that over a blue sky. Then she added birch trees on either side using our Forest Scene Builder Die Set. She framed the whole scene using the negative cut that you get when you cut out a big postage edged shape using our Framework Die Set. How fun is that!?

She finished the scene off by adding a few clouds into the sky using our Cloudy Sky Stencil and added the sentiment from the Cozy Campers Stamp Set. She also added some tiny heart sequin shapes too! How adorable is this? It reminds me of a lovely postcard image!

That's How We Roll Card by February Guest Designer Jennifer Dove

Flamingos, bright cheery, retro, black and pink...need I say more? This is my second card using the  Cozy Campers Stamp Set from Newton's Nook Designs. When I think retro campers all the things I imagine are in this set! I love how you can use one set to get so many different styles of cards. You can see my other card HERE.

This warm and inviting camper was just asking to be colored in fun retro colors don't you think? I random stamped the background with a darker pink stamp pad and then colored in all the hearts and Flamingos with [R81]. I love creating my own background paper when the sets give smaller images to stamp. It was a huge bummer to cover so much of it up, but it just worked out that way for this card. I also used some of the fun frame dies from the Framework Die Set. What a great versatile die set. I know I will get a lot of use beyond just my Guest DT spot...it is now in my favorite-die pile. I hope you enjoyed the use of the Cozy Campers Stamp Set this month.

Happy Camper Card by February Guest Designer Jennifer Dove

Today we have our first post from our February Guest Designer, Jennifer from Just4FunCrafts.com! Jennifer is a lover of copic coloring and we are so excited to have her coloring up our images this month! Keep reading to find out more about her today and to check out her first project below!

I find that the most amazing moments are in the tranquil silence of nature. The moment when you can hear yourself think. When distractions are only the chirping of a bird or the fluttering of a butterfly. When that silly pine needle decides to drop to the ground in an out of control spiral and the thunk of a wayward pinecone. Nature is so unpredictable and I love it. When I saw this stamp set from Newton's Nook I just knew it was one that would bring a smile to my face.

Bringing back the moments of the tranquil silence in nature. Newton's Nook blessed me with asking if I would be a Guest DT for February. I didn't even hesitate to say yes! What an honor to use their fabulous stamps and dies. I chose this set Cozy Campers. We are full time Rv'ers so this set fit me just perfect!

   

I colored this sweet image up using my Copic markers and then cut it out. The great thing for those that aren't great with scissors is that you can also purchase the die too. I chose to use Newtons Nook Designs fabulous Framework Die Set which has a bunch of fun frame options. Once all the layers were added I finished it off with some fun pine trees. I love how it looks like the camper is tucked amongst the pines, don't you? It definitely takes me to that tranquil silence of nature!

Newton's Nook Designs & Therm O Web Inspiration Week - Day 3 with Holly & Nakaba

This week Newton's Nook Designs and Therm O Web are partnering for a fabulous inspiration week! All week long both design teams will be sharing ways to add fun foils and more to your cards using Therm O Web products with Newton's Nook Designs stamps! There are prizes too! Today we are featuring projects by Holly and Naki! 

First we two fun foiled cards by Holly: 

For her first card, Holly featured the cute kitty and coffee press from our Newton Loves Coffee Stamp Set. She colored the image with copics and added a few white gel pen details. Then she cut it out using the coordinating Newton Loves Coffee Die Set. For the Fun foiled background she used Brutus Monroe Designer Toner Sheets (Coffee Rings) with Amber Watercolor Deco Foil from Them O Web. She also added the sentiment from the Newton Loves Coffee Stamp Set, embossed in white on a banner that was cut out using our Frames & Flags Die Set. 

For her second card, Holly created a lovely night camping scene! She used those cute campers from our Cozy Campers Stamp Set, coloring them with copics and adding fun details with a white gel pen. She then cut out the campers with the coordinating Cozy Campers Die Set and added them onto her night scene. To set the scene she created a fun starry background using For the Fun foiled background she used Designer Toner Sheets (Starry Night) along with Silver Stars Deco Foil from Them O Web. She layered this over a dark distress inked background and also added a hill using our Land Borders Die Set. She also cut out the rounded rectangle and scallop edged rectangle using our Frames & Flags Die Set.

 Next, we have two adorable foiled cards by Naki:

For her first card Naki created an adorable winter scene featuring that sweet pair of foxy friends from our Fox Hollow Stamp Set. She colored the foxes with soft watercolors and cut them out with the coordinating Fox Hollow Die Set to add them to her card. For her card she created a winter scene by adding birch and pine trees in white that were cut out using our Forest Scene Builder Die Set. To add the sparkly dots she used Brutus Monroe Designer Toner Sheets (Distress Circles) along with Silver Deco Foil from Them O Web. She also created subtle sparkly hills using our Land Borders Die Set and adding on Iridescent Deco Foil from Therm O Web. 

For her second card, Naki created a gorgeous red foiled background using Gina K Designs Foil Mates (Holiday Flora) and Red Deco Foil from Therm O Web. Then she layered a fun teal ornament shape on top that was cut out using our Ornamental Shaker Die Set. She added on a gold glittery top and embossed the sentiment from our Ornamental Wishes Stamp Set in gold too! So sparkly and perfect for the holidays!

Happy Thanksgiving Camper Card by Amanda Bodine

Thanksgiving Camper Card! 

Today we are sharing a gorgeous thanksgiving camper card by Amanda! She used the adorable camper from our Cozy Campers Stamp Set and colored the camper with copics using yummy Fall colors and a pop of teal! Then she cut it out using the coordinating Cozy Campers Die Set. She surrounded the camper with cut pumpkins from our Newton's Thanksgiving Stamp Set, also using the Newton's Thanksgiving Die Set to cut them out. For her scene she used our Land Borders Die Set to create a hill and added some clouds using our Cloudy Sky Stencil. She added the thanksgiving sentiment from the Newton's Thanksgiving Stamp Set onto the sky. This scene is so cozy and inviting! I love how this camper can be used for all year long!

Holiday Camper Card by Tatiana Trafimovich

May your Holidays Sparkle!

Today we are sharing this fun Holiday camping scene by Tatiana! We designed that cute little camper from our Cozy Campers Stamp Set with summer in mind but we love the idea to use it for a winter camping scene too! Tatiana used that cute camper and colored it fun bright colors with copic markers. Then she cut it out using our Cozy Campers Die Set and added some snow along the top to make it feel right for a winter card! She added it to the scene along with the little deer and trees from our Snow Globe Scenes Stamp Set. She also cut out the trees and deer using the coordinating  Snow Globe Scenes Die Set and added bits of snow to their tops!

For the snowy scene in the background, she used white embossing paste with our Bubbly Stencil over blue cardstock to make a fun snowy background. Then she cut the snow globe shape out of white using our Snow Globe Shaker Die Set to set it into just one fun area of the card. 

She finished out the card by stamping a sentiment from our Sentiments of the Season Stamp Set along the bottom! What do you think of this winter camper scene!? Does it give you ideas on how to use your summer sets throughout the year?

Cozy Campers Cards by August Guest Designer Kara Pogreba

Today we have our first post from our August Guest Designer, Kara from Bright Hope Creations! We are so in love with her amazing coloring and fun bright and colorful cards. We are so happy to have her join us this month and we can't wait to share what she has created with our stamps! Keep reading to find out more about Kara today and to check out her first project below!

Hi, I’m Kara of Bright Hope Creations (formally Kara Lynne Card Designs).  I live in Kimberly, Wisconsin with my wonderful husband and our two amazing daughters (ages 16 and 14).   I love designing clean and layered cards, creating scenes, and adding dimension.  Copics are my favorite coloring medium as you will see this month, and I’ve been practicing with no-line coloring lately.  I am so excited to guest design for Newton’s Nook and hope to inspire you with their creative and adorable images!

I have three cards today featuring the newly released set, Cozy Campers.  These retro campers remind me of the one we had when I was growing up!  The first one was designed with that all too often sloping camp site in mind.  We camp a lot in the summer with our pop-up camper.  My daughter looked at this card and said, "Oh that reminds me of when..."  Yep, that's how we roll!

To create this card, I stamped the camper and flowers in a light gray ink and then lightly drew out the background with a pencil, erasing the pencil lines as I colored.

The second card is a birthday card.  I love how the retro camper, flamingo, and metal table and chairs match up so well with this sentiment from the Birthday Essentials stamp set.  This card was created much like the first one.  The sentiment is longer than the die from Framework dies, so I extended it with partial die cutting.

There are so many ways to color these images, so that's what I did for my final card today.  I kept some elements the same such as the lights, flags, window light, and wheels, but changed up other elements to create a colorful campground.  The sentiment comes from the newly released Newton's Summer Treats Stamp Set and each camper sits upon a die cut from the Framework Die Set.

Juliana created this fun camping card using our new Cozy Campers Stamp set and die set. She added in the fun sun in the background using our Sunscape Stencil and stamped the sentiment into the center of the sun! She added a layer of grass using our Land Borders Die Set. She also used our Frames & Flags Die Set for the scalloped edge and stitched rounded rectangle. 

The trio of kitties enjoying ice cream on this card by Larissa are so cute! She stamped the kitties from our new Newton's Summer Treats Stamp Set and colored them in fun cozy colors. Then she used the coordinating die set to cut them out. For her background she added in some paws with our Pawprints Stencil. 

Amanada created a gorgeous night scene using our new Cozy Campers Stamps and die set. She created such a lovely scene with the campers on the hills. She used our Starfield Stencil to create that twinkly starry sky and then added some hills and grass to her scene using our Land Borders Die Set. 

The kitty on this card by Tatiana is ready for some summer fun! She used the cute kitty with the sunglasses and popsicle from our new Newton's Summer Treats Stamp Set. She cut him out with the coordinating die set and added him over a fun soft rainbow striped panel that was created using our stitched rectangle die from the Frames & Flags Die Set. She also created a fun tropical background using our Tropical Leaves Stencil with white embossing paste. 

Zsofia created this adorable camping scene using both campers from the new Cozy Campers Stamp Set. She colored the campers in fun bright teal and nestled them in a grassy border using our Land Borders Die Set. She also used our Sunscape Stencil to create a lovely sunny sky in the background. 

This yummy ice cream card was created by Samantha using our new Newton's Summer Treats Stamp Set. Isn't the kitty with the tower of ice cream so cute? The bright colors on the ice cream really pop against the white card base!  

Maria created this romantic camping scene using our new Cozy Campers Stamp set! She colored the camper and bistro set in fun coordinating colors and cut them out with the coordinating die set to add to her card. She created the awesome moonlight scene using distress inks and added in some hills using Land Borders Die Set. 

Holly created this sweet ice cream card using our new Newton's Summer Treats Stamp Set. She stamped the trio of kitties and colored them in shades of grey with bright colored ice cream treats! She added them to a card base with some cute patterned ice cream paper! So yummy!

Naki created this lovely starry night scene using the camper and flamingo from our new Cozy Campers Stamp Set. She colored the images and cut them out with the coordinating die set and layered them in front of a starry sky created using our Starfield Stencil. She also added in a layer of vellum grass using our Land Borders Die Set. 

The cool cat on this card by Ellen is enjoying his summer in the city! Ellen used the kitty with his sunglasses and popsicle from the new Newton's Summer Treats Stamp Set. Then she created a city scene using buildings from our Snow Globe Scenes Stamp Set and the taxi cab from our Newton Dreams of New York Stamp Set. She also used our Land Borders Die Set to create the hills and grass!
