Newton's Nook Designs & Therm O Web Inspiration Week - Day 1 with Samantha Mann & Amanda Wilcox

This week Newton's Nook Designs and Therm O Web are partnering for a fabulous inspiration week! All week long both design teams will be sharing ways to add fun foils and more to your cards using Therm O Web products with Newton's Nook Designs stamps! There are prizes too! Today we are featuring projects by Samantha and Amanda! 

First up we are sharing a gorgeous duo of summer themed cards by Samantha: 

For her first card Samantha created a gorgeous pineapple card using foil and flock transfer sheets and Transfer Gel from Therm O Web and along with our two piece pineapple stencil for a fun mix of textures and sparkle! She added the sentiment using a combination of stamps, die cuts and foil too! Products listed below.

Next, we have an incredible sparkly kitty cupcake card by Amanda:

For this amazing yummy birthday card Amanda used the 3 piece cupcake stencil from Newton's Nook Designs with glitz gel (on the cherries and sprinkles) from Therm O Web. She also used a deco foil transfer pen to add fun foiled spots to the big cupcake wrapper on the stamped image for more fun sparkle! Full product list below.

Hip Hip Hooray Card by Ellen Haxelmans

Hip, Hip, Hooray!

Today Ellen has created a fun cupcake card that is filled with sparkle and shine! 

For this fun card she used our Cupcake Stencil Set to create the cupcakes. This stencil is a three piece set. On stencil one she used distress inks for the yellow tops. Then she used stencil two to add foil onto the cupcake bottoms. Lastly, she used stencil three with red glittery gel for the cherries and sprinkles. (see her project details at the bottom of this post).

After everything was dry, she cut out this fun pattern and added it over a yellow scallop edged frame that was die cut using our Frames & Flags Die Set. Then she added a big pink ribbon and the "hip, hip, hooray" sentiment from our Uplifting Wishes Stamp Set. The sentiment was cut out using circles from our Circle Frames Die Set and our Frames Squared Die Set. 

Here is a close up so you can see all the sparkle!

It would be so much fun to get this card in the mail for a birthday or any other celebration!

Details on the cupcake background from Ellen:

Below we have some instructions from Ellen on how to create this background.

1. (left photo) I used the first stencil and layer taped parts off. Later you can add distress ink. I taped a few things off and then applied transfer get over all the cupcake wrappers using stencil 2. 
2. (center photo)When it was dry I turned on the laminator and let it heat well. I applied foil (colored side up) put it in between parchment paper and used my laminator (ps. If you use the transfer gel duo you can also apply the foil with pressure by using your die cutting machine).
3. (right photo) I applied red glitz glitter gel to add the last layer of the stencil to get the sparkly sprinkles.

Treat Yo' Self Card by Zsofia Molnar

Celebrate with Treats!!

Today we have a fun celebratory card by Zsofia that is filled with sweet treats!  To create this fun and tasty card she started by creating a fun background of cupcakes using our new 3 piece Cupcakes Stencil Set. She used two of the stencils from the 3 piece set to create fun gray and white cupcakes over a kraft cardstock panel. This stencil also includes a third piece if you want to add sprinkles and cherries to the cupcakes but it looks great with just the first two stencils too! She cut this panel out using our Frames & Flags Die Set to give it a fun scalloped edge. 

Next, she used the image of the kitty with a giant ice cream cone from our Newton's Summer Treats Stamp Set for her focal image. She colored the kitty in neutral tones and added fun bright pops of pink, mint green and red to the ice cream! She also added a bit of gloss accents. The image was cut out using the coordinating Newton's Summer Treats Die Set. 

She assembled her card, framing the kitty with a circle shape that was cut out using our Circle Frames Die Set. She added a second circle, cut out with the same set using pink paper and added the sentiment from the Newton's Summer Treats Stamp Set onto it. She added some hearts too, also cut out using the bonus heart on the Circle Frames Die Set.

She finished the card by adding the sentiment "Time to Celebrate" from the Birthday Roundabout Stamp Set. She stamped this onto a mint colored banner that was cut out using the Banner Trio Die Set. 

This card is filled with treats that are perfect to make any day special!
