Mail Christmas Magic!

Today we are sharing this adorable holiday card by Tatiana that combines two fun stamp sets to create a magical holiday mailbox scene! 

For this card, Tatiana used the cute image of the kitty and puppy mailing Christmas letters from our Holiday Post Stamp Set. She colored the image using holiday red and green with a pop of teal! So cute! The image was cut out using the Holiday Post Die Set to add it to her scene. 

For her scene, she started with a small slimline card (sized 6" x 3 1/2"). She then created a blue sky using distress inks and stamped the sentiment and snowflakes into the sky from our Holiday Home Stamp Set. Then she added layers of snowy hills using our Land Borders Die Set. On each layer she added cute little clusters of trees from our Holiday Home Stamp Set, cutting them out with the coordinating Holiday Home Die Set. Over the whole scene she also added little white dots to look like a snowy sky. So pretty!

Happy Holiday Note Card by November Guest Designer Ashley Ebben

Today we are welcoming our November Guest Designer, Ashley Ebben! We fell in love with her work on instagram where she has been sharing adorable cards filled with cute critters and fun settings! Hi there! My name is Ashley Ebben, and I live near St. Louis, Missouri with my husband, daughter, our two dogs and sassy ragdoll cat. I’m a stay-at-home mom to my three year old daughter who is just the best, toddler tantrums not withstanding ;) Naptime is my craft time! I started as a scrapbooker, but I am terrible at remembering to take and print pictures, so a few years ago I gave cardmaking a try and was instantly hooked. I especially adore ink blending – turning a white piece of cardstock into a colorful background is simply magical to me. I am so happy to be joining Newton's Nook this month and look forward to sharing my creations using their adorable animals with you all!

Hello everyone! I am so happy to be sharing my first card with you as a guest designer for Newton's Nook! I decided to use my absolute favorite stamp from the new release - Holiday Post! I just love how cute Newton looks standing on top of his doggy friend to send some happy mail!

I started by stamping the main image from Holiday Post in Copic friendly black ink onto white cardstock. I also stamped a little mouse from Santa Paws Newton. I thought he fit perfectly with the Holiday Post scene, and I just can't resist mixing stamp sets together! I colored both images with Copic markers then fussy cut them out.

For the background, I die cut a stitched circle from white cardstock and blended a bit of Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide on the bottom. I stamped the snowflakes from Holiday Post in light gray ink, then adhered the circle to some light blue cardstock. I cut the whole piece with a stitched rectangle die, cutting off one side of the circle to make a semicircle backdrop for my image. Then I added the rectangle to a base of plaid patterned paper that matched my inking.

I attached my colored images to the card with foam tape for dimension, then stamped a sentiment from Holiday Post in black ink. To finish, I added some snowflake shaped sequins and iridescent gems around the card for a bit of sparkle and extra interest.
