For the background she used a light colored gray ink to cover the white panel with coffee mug images. Then she stamped the big sentiment on the top, embossing it in black.  She added some black paint splatters and then she cut the panel out using the scalloped rectangle from our Frames & Flags Die Set. She added the die cut mugs and coffee beans over the top to finish the card front.

  • (Left photo above): First, die cut 3 times the second largest frame from the A7 Frames & Banner Die Set (out of pattern paper, white paper and foam adhesive). Stick the foam adhesive frame on top of a card base and place the pattern paper in the open spaces

  • (Right photo above): Next you add the shaker material. You cut a transparency as large as the ourside of the full sized frame.  Stick the transparency on top of the foam adhesive frame. As last step you adhere the white frame on top of the clear acetate.

Here's what I created:
2022 Fall/Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop | Coffee and Cat Card by Jennifer Jackson | Newton's Mug Stamp Set, Love Café Stamp Set, Coffee House Stories Paper Pad and various Die Sets by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook #handmade
To start out, I chose a few printed papers from our Coffee House Stories Paper Pad that features cat and coffee themes (two of our favorites). I cut out a postage edged panel using our Framework Die Set from dark brown cardstock and then added the three strips of the patterned paper inside the frame.

Next, I stamped the image of the big mug with the kitty peeking out of it from our Newton's Mug Stamp Set. This set has a bunch of different phrases that will fit on the coffee mug front but this time I left the front blank and colored it watercolored the mug purple and the kitty a brownish gray. I stamped the duo of heart mugs from our Love Café Stamp Set and colored them in coordinating colors. When coloring the images I tried to match the colors to the papers I had chosen! Then I cut out the images using the coordinating Newton's Mug Die Set and Love Café Die Set
2022 Fall/Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop | Coffee and Cat Card by Jennifer Jackson | Newton's Mug Stamp Set, Love Café Stamp Set, Coffee House Stories Paper Pad and various Die Sets by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook #handmade
I arranged the mugs over my pattern filled card base, then decided I needed a circle of vellum to help soften the busy prints so I layered a circle cut out using our Circle Frames Die Set between the printed papers and the stamped images. The finishing touch is the sentiment from the Love Café Stamp Set. I stamped the sentiment onto kraft colored paper and then cut it out into a banner using the banner from the Bookmark Die Set

A Big Cup of Thanks by Amanda Wilcox

A Big Cup of Thanks by Amanda Wilcox | Newton's Mug Stamp Set, Love Café Stamp Set, Framework Die Set, Mugs Stencil, and Frames & Flags Die Set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook

A Big Cup of Thanks!

Today we have an adorable thank you card by Amanda that features two of our favorite things: Kitties and Coffee!

For this sweet thank you she featured the kitty in the mug from our Newton's Mug Stamp Set. This set has several fun sentiments that will fit on the front of the mug and on hers she used "A big cup of thanks", embossed in white. She colored the mug a fun rustic orange color and added fun grey spots to her white kitty! So adorable! She cut the image out using the coordinating Newton's Mug Die Set. She also colored the smaller duo of mugs with hearts on them from our Love Café Stamp Set, coloring them in soft blues, greens and yellows. What a fabulous color combo! The smaller mugs were cut out with the coordinating Love Café Die Set

For the card base she cut a panel of textured neutral colored cardstock using our Framework Die Set to give it a postage stamp edge. Then she stenciled mugs onto the panel in a light gray using our Mugs Stencil. Over this panel she layered a rectangle of vellum that was cut out using the stitched rectangle from our Frames & Flags Die Set. Then the mugs were layered over the top. I love how the vellum softens the background pattern. A Little bit of twine finishes off the card. Doesn't this card have such a lovely coffee shop feel!?

Coffee-Themed Card Set by Tina Herbeck

Coffee Card Set by Tina Herbeck | Newton Loves Coffee, Newton's Mug and Love Café Stamp Sets and Framework Die Set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook #handmade

Coffee Card Trio!

Today we are sharing a fun trio of coffee themed cards by Tina! This fun set of cards shows how you can use the same design to create a fun set of cards simply by changing the images!

She started out by choosing three fun coffee themed stamp sets. She used the kitty in the big mug from our Newton's Mug Stamp Set, the kitty hugging a travel mug from our Newton Loves Coffee Stamp Set and the duo of heart mugs from our Love Café Stamp Set. She embossed these images and sentiments from the sets onto watercolor panels with white embossing powder and then used distress inks to paint colors over the top. She chose yummy shades of pink and brown that go perfectly with the coffee theme. Each panel was also die cut with our Framework Die Set to give it a fun decorative postage edge. She also finished them off by adding iridescent sequins for a bit of sparkle.

Here are some close-ups so you can see the amazing details.
Card one: image from Newton's Mug Stamp Set, sentiment from Newton Loves Coffee Stamp Set

Thanks a Latte Card by February Guest Designer Caitlin Anthony

Hi everyone! For my third project this month, I really wanted to change things up and do a slim line card. I should probably start off by telling you that as a human being, my body is probably made up of about 64% coffee on any given day. So, when I saw the super sweet new Love Café Stamp Set from the Valentine’s release, I knew I needed it immediately and I thought I would use it to inspire my slim line card.

Thanks a Latte Card by February Guest Designer Caitlin Anthony | Pumpkin Latte Stamp Set and Slimline Masking Stencil Set by Newton's Nook Designs

I started out by cutting down some plain white 80 lb cardstock to 3 x 8 inches and taping it to the back of the circle stencil from the Slimline Masking Circles & Squares Stencil Set. I used a blending sponge and two colors of distress ink to create an ombré effect for each circle, with the darker color (Walnut Stain) on the outside and the lighter color (Gathered Twigs) in the middle. I also made up a water mixture with each color and added splatters to each circle. I really wanted to give it the feel that lots and lots of coffee had dripped and spilled there over time (but really, who would dare to waste coffee like that…). The last  addition to the circles was the little coffee beans from the Love Café Stamp Set, which I stamped with the Walnut Stain distress ink since I wanted a more rustic, splotchy feel.

Thanks a Latte Card by February Guest Designer Caitlin Anthony | Pumpkin Latte Stamp Set and Slimline Masking Stencil Set by Newton's Nook Designs

I stamped the lady from the Pumpkin Latte stamp set and the coffee mugs from the Love Café Stamp Set in alcohol friendly ink and stamped a sentiment from the Pumpkin Latte Stamp Set in the middle circle in the same black ink. I picked out a cool black and beige pattern paper for the main card panel and used coordinating copics to color in the images, adding in a hot pink combo for a fun pop. I used the coordinating die sets to cut out the images then removed the circle panel from the stencil and added some Antique Linen and Gathered Twigs to the outer edges of the rectangle.

Thanks a Latte Card by February Guest Designer Caitlin Anthony | Pumpkin Latte Stamp Set and Slimline Masking Stencil Set by Newton's Nook Designs

This card came together so quickly at the end. I glued the circle panel to the pattern paper and added my images to their circles. I decided to put the cups at the bottom because they had a heavier feel vs the latte lady. I glued the whole piece down to a card base measuring 3.5 x 8.5 inches and paired it with a kraft brown slimline envelope. This was a really fun card to make and I can’t wait to play with these slim line stencils some more.

As a bonus, I was begged into sharing one last picture with you this week. My 6 years old daughter came to inspect my work and fell in love with the Woodland Spring Stamp Set that I used in my first card. She made her own card with those stamps, completely on her own start to finish and asked if I could share it with you all- we hope it makes you smile!
