A Trio of Holiday Cards by Maria Russell

 Holiday Inspiration from Maria!

Today we have THREE adorable Holiday cards by Maria to share! First we have an adorable scene featuring that cute pug from our Pug Hugs Stamp Set! Maria added on a Santa Hat to the Pug and put him under some mistletoe from our Holiday Smooches Stamp Set! She added the "meet me under the Mistletoe" sentiment, also from the Holiday Smooches Stamp Set and some cute little presents from the Llama Delivery Stamp Set. I love how with a little creativity you can mix and match so many of our stamps together! She also used our Frames & Flags Die Set to cut out the rounded corner stitched rectangle panel and the red scalloped card frame!

Next Maria created two yummy cards featuring our new Peppermint Die Set:

For the first card she created  a trio of peppermints using our Peppermint Die Set and cutting them from sparkly glitter paper! She also added on a fun scalloped border and the "merry everything" sentiment along the bottom from our Sentiments of the Season Stamp Set. How fun! 

For her second card she made the card into a tree shape, complete with star on top! Then she decorated the tree with festive peppermints using our Peppermint Die Set. In the center she used the "peppermint kisses and mistletoe wishes" sentiment from the Newton's Candy Cane Stamp Set. I love how perfectly this sentiment goes with those sparkly mints!

Winter Sky Card by Samantha Mann

Spectacular Winter Sky!

Today we are sharing a gorgeous winter sky card by Samantha! She created this amazing card using our Splendid Stags Die Set. She cut the deer head out using the die but instead of using the die cut shape she took the negative shape and used it as a stencil! She applied white embossing paste over it to get a dimensional deer head on her card. Then she added layers of watercolor over the top to create that amazing sky! She splattered on some white paint and sequins for the stars. To finish it off she stamped "Happy Holidays" from the Holiday Smooches Stamp Set and embossed it in white over strip of black cardstock! This card is so striking and pretty! Such a unique idea for a Holiday card!

Merry Kiss-mas card by Samantha Mann

Merry Kiss-mas Card
Today, Samantha has a card using two of our sweet Christmas stamp sets from last year! She used the adorable Holiday Smooches for the heat embossed sentiment and the cute Newton's Christmas Cuddles stamp set for the image!

The adorable duo of cats were watercolored and then popped up against that winter-y watercolor-y sky! I love the sequins for stars!

Happy Holidays Card by Lydia Evans

Christmas in July! 

Today we are sharing beautiful Holiday card by Lydia! She die cut the deer silhouette using the Splendid Stags Die Set and the added him over a wreath created with images from the Happy Little Thoughts stamp set! I love how versatile these sets can be! Then she added on the "Happy Holidays" sentiment from the Holiday Smooches stamp set. What a gorgeous Holiday card and these would be pretty simple to create too if you need to make a bunch!

Polar Bear Love Card by Danielle Pandeline

Sweet Bears for Valentine's Day!

Awww! This card by Danielle will put you in the Valentine mood! She used adorable bear couple from the Holiday Smooches stamp set and gave them cute pink and purple scarves. Although this set was released as a Holiday set, you can definitely continue to use it throughout the winter - just change up the colors of the hats and scarves like Danielle did! She also used our Darling Hearts Die Set to create the cut out hearts and word "love" and the Darling Duos stamp set for the stamped hearts!

Merry Kiss-mas!

Just a few days left until Christmas! Are you ready? These sweet little penguins from our Holiday Smooches stamp set are so perfect for sending some love this Christmas season! I stamped the penguins on watercolor paper with waterproof black in and then colored them in with inktense pencils and a water brush. When they were dry I added on some glitter with the Wink of Stella Glitter marker. I also added some clear shine to their beaks and feet with a clear shimmer pico embellisher. So pretty!

For the rest of the card I used an olive green card base and added a piece of shimmery paper that I embossed with a polka dot embossing folder. I also added a scrap of green houndstooth pattern paper, a green button and some green and white bakers twine. I love the mono-chromatic feel this card has!

Penguin Card by Special Guest Laura Sterckx

Today we have a special guest designer on our blog, Laura Sterckx! Laura was going to play along with our Deck the Halls with Inky Paws a couple weeks ago but wasn't feeling well. Lucky for us we are able to feature her today instead!

Laura created this adorable penguin card using the penguin couple from our Holiday Smooches stamp set! I love how she fussy cut out those two sweet penguins and put them in front of a shaker window filled with yummy beads and sequins! The shape of the window reminds me of a snow globe! Then she added the "Happy Holidays" sentiment below.

Christmas Blessings Card by Nina-Marie Trapani

Using Fall stamps to create a Christmas card!

Today I'm sharing this beautiful Christmas card by Nina-Marie using our Falling into Autumn Stamp Set! I love how Nina-Marie shows us how to stretch our stamp sets by using our fall leaf set to create this lovely christmas card! By coloring the "berries" red and the branches green she made them look like festive holly! She also added in the little twig from the  Fox Hollow Stamp Set and made a custom sentiment by mixing the words "christmas" and "to a special couple" from the Holiday Smooches stamp set and adding in the "blessings" from the Falling into Autumn stamp set!

I love how with a little imagination you can take seasonal stamps and make them last all year!

Hello, dear friends at Newton’s Nook. I am Virginia Lu from Ontario, Canada. I have been stamping for nearly 20 years. I found stamping (or shall we say stamping found me) when my son was a baby. I got much more active after my daughter went to college. By actively participating in online challenges, competitions and publications since 2009, my stamping skills have grown in leaps and bounds since. To this day, I am still loving every minute of it because there are always new techniques to learn and new stamps to acquire and play! Currently, I am on Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge team and I also run a challenge blog called Virginia’s View Challenge. I am honored to be the guest at Newton’s Nook today!

Here's what Virginia created!

Virginia created two super cute cards for her guest feature today! First up is this adorable kitty card using the kitty couple from the Newton's Christmas Cuddles Stamp set! I love How she created a snowy hill for them to sit on and that gorgeous inked sky behind them! What a beautiful setting!

Here are a few words from Virginia about the Kitty card:

I adore this cute cat couple and had to create a scene for them. I started out with a hand drawn “hill”. Basically I drew a curvy line and cut out the top half and used it as a mask. After applying various Distress Inks (Broken China, Faded Jeans, Salty Ocean, Seedless Preserves), I then added white embossing paste with a dotted stencil. I sprinkled some glitter before I life off the stencil. I colored the kitties with copics and then fussy cut them. For the extra dimensions, I positioned the cat couple with pop dots and they now are facing a beautiful starry night sky!

 

For her second project today, Virginia created this adorable penguin card using our Holiday Smooches stamp set! I love how she added the mistletoe above them, embossed in gold with a sequin in the center! The red and blue wings on the penguins give the card such a fun whimsical feel! So adorable!

Here are a few words from Virginia about the penguin card:
I love using pattern paper for cute images. I stamped the penguin image on pattern paper and colored them in Prisma color pencils. I paper-pieced their scarves to match the pattern paper. I love adding details to my designs. For the penguins, I applied droplets of white Pico Embellisher to the body. This surely make the white pop and gives the penguins a bit of dimensions, too. I also embossed the mistletoe in Platinum Embossing Powder and small Martha Stewart star confetti  for the wow factor.

Stephanie created this adorable "KISS-mas" card using our Holiday Smooches stamp set. Aren't those kissing seals so cute? I love how she added in polka dots on the scarf and hat! The simple card layout with the watercolor background is super cute too! The "Merry Kiss-mas" sentiment she used is also part of the Holiday Smooches stamp set along with some other cute kissing animal couples!

Happy Holidays card by Jess Gerstner

Happy Holidays! 

Here is a super sweet Holiday card by Jess! She used our fun new Simply Seasonal stamp set to stamp the "Happy" and "Holidays" and added to the letter y to create a place for the cute kissing birds from our Holiday Smooches stamp set! This is such a cute idea! I also love all those pretty snowflakes stamped in white on the kraft cardstock! That cute little snowflake is also part of the Simply Seasonal stamp set! This set is so fun with the big words and the added in little images - I love how versatile it is!

Merry Kiss-mas Card by Lydia Evans

Merry Kiss-mas! 

Today I'm sharing an adorable mistletoe card by Lydia using our new Holiday Smooches stamp set! Lydia is so great at taking the teeny tiny images from our sets and making them the focus of a card! For this card she stamped the mistletoe repeatedly and embossed it with white and then then added some fun watercoloring over it to create that beautiful background! Then she used the "merry KISS-mas" sentiment, also from the Holiday Smooches stamp set, to create the sentiment on white. I love the non-traditional blue and purple christmas colors too!

Mistletoe Bears card by Guest Designer Annette Allen

Sweet kissing bears card! 

We have another fun project today from our October Guest Designer, Annette! She used our Holiday Smooches stamp set to create this sweet Holiday card!

I love how she colored the bears from this set in sweet pastel colors and put a pretty wreath around them! The added paint splatters also add a really fun touch! The "Meet me under the Mistletoe"sentiment is also from the Holiday Smooches stamp set.

Penguin Kiss-mas Card

Merry Kiss-mas Penguins!

Today I'm featuring another cute card using our brand new Holiday Smooches stamp set! This set is so cute with the fun kissing couples!  For this card I used the sweet penguin couple. I stamped them onto watercolor cardstock and colored them with distress markers and a water brush. I added in a snowbank for them too. Then I added a couple of hearts above their heads and the "Merry Kiss-mas" and "from BOTH of us" sentiments. To finish out the card I added some washi tape and twine and some snowflake patterned paper.

Isn't it cute? This set is perfect for sending cards to or from a couple! I think it would make great anniversary cards too!
