Friendly Witch Card

Witches don't have to be bad! Today we are featuring a humorous witch themed Halloween card by Farhana!

This card features the cute witching from our Brooms & Boos Stamp Set. This image featuring a witch holding a Jack-o'-Lantern and holding a mask over her eyes is so fun! Farhana colored the image in fun Halloween colors using alcohol markers and used the coordinating Brooms & Boos Die Set to cut the image out. 

For her card, she started with a white card base and added a fun pattern to it using our three piece Jack-o'-Lantern Stencil Set. With three stencils in this set it's easy to create patterns with multiple colors. 

Once the background was created she cut out a few hexagon shapes from shades of orange cardstock using our Hexagon Frames Die Set. She stamped the funny message from the Brooms & Boos Stamp Set onto one of the shapes and then layered all three onto her background. The with was then added to the largest hexagon.

Happy Paw-tumn! Card by Farhana Sarker

Happy Paw-tumn!

Fall is just around the corner and today we are excited about starting our fall crafting! Today we are featuring a beautiful card by Farhana that is filled with fall fun!

To create this adorable autumn greeting she started by stamping and coloring the image of Newton with the milk jug full of sunflowers from our Paw-tumn Newton Stamp Set. Isn't it cute how the kitty is peeking around the pumpkin to see the bird? She cut the image out using the coordinating Paw-tumn Newton Die Set.

If you like the color palette on her image, here is a reference of the Copic marker colors she used: 

To create the rest of the card she started with a white card base and added two rows of pumpkins using our Jack-o'-Lantern Stencil Set. This fun three piece stencil includes one layer of pumpkin bases, one layer of pumpkin stems and one layer of Jack-o'-Lantern faces. She used the first two layers, leaving off the faces to create an autumn look. She added her colored image along the right side of the card, overlapping the pumpkins. Then she added the sentient from our Paw-tumn Newton Stamp Set below the pumpkins.

Stay Spooky Card by Amanda Wilcox

Stay Spooky! 

Today we're getting in the Halloween mood with this cute and spooky card by Amanda featuring some of our favorite Halloween products!

This creative card features our Jack-O'-Lantern Stencil Set and Ghostly Good Times Stamp Set. She started out by creating a that fun background using the Jack-O'-Lantern Stencil Set onto light orange paper.  This stencil set has three layers (one for the pumpkins, one for the scary faces and one for the stems). She stenciled each layer with a different color using the etching on each stencil to align them perfectly. She then cut out the completed background using the zig zag edged die from our Frames & Tags Die Set. She also cut a black frame using the same die set to layer on top. 

Next she stamped the adorable ghost dog and cat from our Ghostly Good Times Stamp Set onto vellum and embossed them in white. The transparency of the vellum really gives them the perfect ghostly look! They were die cut out using the coordinating Ghostly Good Times Die Set. 

Last she adds the "Stay Spooky" sentiment from the Ghostly Good Times Stamp Set. She die cut the tag from our Frames & Tags Die Set and stamped the message in orange onto it. A bit of orange twine and a pumpkin embellishment finish it off perfectly. 

We love the combination of cute and spooky on this card!

Piles of Pumpkins Card by Samantha Mann

Pretty Pink Pumpkins!

Today Samantha is sharing a pumpkin card that is pretty in pinks! What an unexpected and gorgeous color for fall!

For this beautiful card she started by using our Jack-o'-lantern Stencil Set to create rows of pretty pumpkins. This stencil has three pieces: pumpkin bases, pumpkin stems, and scary faces. If you use all three layers, it makes a great jack-o'-lantern, but by leaving off the scary faces, you have the option to create lovely pumpkins too! 

That's what Samantha did on her card today! She applied transfer gel to the layer of the stencil that includes the bases of the pumpkins and then applied foils and flocks in shades of pink with a heat laminator.  She then used a sparkly gold embossing paste on the layer of the stencil with the stems! Soooooo pretty!  Here's a close-up so you can see all the shimmer and flock:

Then she added the sentiment from the Newton's Pumpkin Patch Stamp Set, stamping it onto a banner that was cut out of kraft paper using our Banner Trio Die Set. Pretty pink leaves were added to the side, cut out using our Autumn Leaves Die Set. A few sparkly gold sequins add a shimmery finishing touch!

Hello Fall Card by Larissa Heskett

Hello, Fall!

Today Larissa has created a beautiful fall card that is filled with awesome textures! 

To create this card she started by creating a background filled with texture. She chose a plaid paper from our Autumn Paper Pad. Over the paper she added pumpkins using our three piece Jack-o-Lantern Stencil Set. She added the pumpkin bases using a texture paste with the stencil. Then she added the stems using Deco Foil Transfer Gel Duo. She also added a bit of the gel onto the pumpkins. When the transfer gel was dry she added the green flock using Deco Foil transfer sheets and a laminator. What a wonderful combination of textures! Here is a close-up so you can see all the details:

She framed this lovely panel using the scallop edged frame from our Frames & Flags Die Set. Then she added the sentiment, "hello, Fall" from our Heartfelt Fall Stamp Set, stamped onto a circle that was cut out using our Circle Frames Die Set.

Halloween Kitten Card by Zsofia Molnar

Halloween Kitty!

Today we have a fun Halloween card by Zsofia that that features that cute kitty from our Trick or Treat Kittens Stamp Set! 

She started out by coloring that adorable image of the kitty peeking out of the halloween pumpkin from our Trick or Treat Kittens Stamp Set. The shading on the pumpkin is so pretty and we love the colors on the kitty too! She cut out the kitty image and some images of candies from the same set using the coordinating Trick or Treat Kittens Die Set. Then she mounted the kitty and candies onto a kraft colored tag that was cut out using our Fancy Edges Tag Die Set. She stamped the "Happy Halloween" sentiment above the kitty and added some fun candy corn colored twine for a fun detail!

Here is a close up so you can see all the beautiful details in her coloring:

For the card base she stenciled a panel of pretty pumpkins using our Jack-o'-lantern Stencil Set. This stencil set has three layers: pumpkins, stems and Jack-o'-lantern faces. She only used the pumpkin and stem layers, leaving off the scary faces for a fun pumpkin background! Then she layered a piece of vellum over the pattern to soften the look.

Jack-o-lantern Stencil 3 Ways + Video with Jennifer Jackson

Jack-o'-lantern card and Video

Hello! Jen here today with a trio of fun and simple Halloween cards that use our awesome three piece Jack-o'-lantern Stencil Set! 

The three layers included with the  Jack-o'-lantern Stencil Set make it super easy to create a 3 color pattern. Each stencil layer also has etching of the opposite layer, making it easy to line up with what you have already inked up. 

For my first card today (shown above), I used all three layers to create a jack-o'lantern pattern onto a piece of white Bristol paper that was trimmed to 2 7/8" wide by 4 1/8" tall. This size fits perfectly inside the stitched edge on the die cut rectangle from our Frames & Flags Die Set. I also cut out the black banner using the Frames & Flags Die Set and stamped and embossed the "Happy Halloween" sentiment onto the banner from the Spiderweb Oval Stamp Set! A bit of twine finishes the card off nicely. 

For my second card I used just the first two layers of the Jack-o'-lantern Stencil Set and left off the scary pumpkin faces to create a fall card:

This card was created exactly the same as the first card. The layout is the same but I used rust colored cardstock for the die cut rectangle and chocolate brown on the banner from our Frames & Flags Die Set. For the sentiment on this card I used a sentiment from our Autumn Oval Stamp Set.

For my third card, I used ONLY the third stencil (with the scary faces) from the Jack-o'-lantern Stencil Set:

On this card I used white texture paste over a piece of black cardstock for a scary background pattern! Then I used orange and yellow cardstock for the stitched rectangle and banner, cut out again with the Frames & Flags Die Set. The sentiment "Happy Haunting" is from the Spiderweb Oval Stamp Set.

Isn't it fun how you can use the same stencil set and layout to create three different cards!?

Paw-tumn Greetings Card by Tatiana Trafimovich

Paw-tumn Greetings!

Today we have a gorgeous fall card by Tatiana featuring our favorite feline from the Newton's Crate Stamp Set. 

To create this beautiful card, Tatiana colored the image of the kitty in the crate from our Newton's Crate Stamp Set. She used neutral browns and grays on the kitty and crate and then added bright yellows and red-oranges to the pumpkins for a fun pop of fall color. She also added details of white using a gel pen.  She added the sentiment to the front of the crate and cut the image out using the coordinating Newton's Crate Die Set. So cute!

For the card base, she inked up a pretty pumpkin pattern using the pumpkin and stem layers from our three piece Jack-o-lantern Stencil Set. This stencil works awesome for Halloween when you add on scary pumpkin faces using the third layer, but if you leave it off, you have a lovely fall pattern, making this stencil super versatile!  The colors she used are amazing for fall too! 

For finishing touches she added white paint splatters and yellow sequins.

Halloween Inspiration Week - Day 3 - Tina & Farhana

This week Newton's Nook Designs is getting ready for Halloween with a fun Inspiration week! 

All week the NND Design Team will be sharing inspiration using some of their favorite Halloween products to get you in the mood for tricks and treats! Today we are featuring cute and spooky projects by Tina Herbeck and Farhana Sarker.

 Tina created a fun witchy themed Halloween card today!

This fun card features the adorable witch from our Brooms & Boos Stamp Set! She colored the image in fun Halloween oranges and blacks and cut it out using the coordinating Brooms & Boos Die Set. She also stamped the large spiderweb from our new Spiderweb Oval Stamp Set and inked the inside of the image a spooky Halloween green color and added some black paint splatters. The sentiment "Witch way to the candy" is from the Brooms & Boos Stamp Set. She cut the oval image out using the Oval Frames Die Set to give it the fun scalloped edge. Then she layered a fun black kitty silhouette on each side of the image using our Cat Silhouettes Die Set. 

For the card base she layered patterned prints from our Halloween Woofs Paper Pad and Halloween Meows Paper Pad that matched her color palette! Super fun!

This adorable card also features the witch from our Brooms & Boos Stamp Set! She also colored the image in fun Halloween colors and cut it out using the coordinating Brooms & Boos Die Set. The large spiderweb from our new Spiderweb Oval Stamp Set also makes an appearance on this card but this time it is stamped onto vellum for an extra spooky look! She choose the sentiment "Witching you a Happy Halloween, embossed onto a banner from our Frames & Flags Die Set. 

For the card base, Farhana stenciled a pattern on jack-o-lanterns using the three piece Jack-o'-lantern Stencil Set to create a fun Halloween background.

Halloween Inspiration Week - Day 1 - Samantha & Maria

This week Newton's Nook Designs is getting ready for Halloween with a fun Inspiration week! 

All week the NND Design Team will be sharing inspiration using some of their favorite Halloween products to get you in the mood for tricks and treats! Today we are starting the week out with projects today by Samantha Mann and Maria Russell!

Samantha created a sweet Halloween card using pinks and oranges along with some of our favorite Halloween products!

For this adorable creation she paired the images of pets and pumpkins from our Newton's Boo-tiful Night Stamp Set and Pug-kin Stamp Sets. She colored both images using zig watercolor markers and colored some of the pumpkins a fun, unexpected, pink! She cut the images out using the coordinating Newton's Boo-tiful Night Die Set and Pug-kin Die Set.

For her card background she added more pinks to the sky using distress inks across the top of her card panel. Then she added pretty pumpkins using the pumpkin base and stem layers from our 3 piece Jack-o'-lantern Stencil Set. This stencil also includes jack-o-lantern faces but it's awesome how you can use it without the faces for a fun new look! The finishing touch on her card is the sentiment from the Newton's Boo-tiful Night Stamp Set, embossed in white on black cardstock and hand cut out to add onto the card.

Maria created a treat tag that is perfect for dressing up a halloween candy box! 

For this fun tag, Maria started out by creating a tag using our Fancy Edges Tag Die Set. She cut the tag from white, orange and yellow cardstock. Then she cut the yellow and orange tag again using the fun zig zag border that is is included in this die set, layering the colors to look like candy corn! So cute!

Next, she stamped the adorable kitty in the boot from our Witchy Newton Stamp Set and colored it in fun bright Halloween colors. She colored the kitty a light gray and added speckles to the fur for a fun effect! The image was cut out using the coordinating Witchy Newton Die Set  and layered onto the 

For the sentiment she stamped "best witches" from the Witchy Newton Stamp Set. She also added the Trick or Treat Die cut from our  Halloween Trio Die Set. The finishing touch is some pretty ribbon and black and orange twine. What a fun way to dress up a Halloween treat!
