Christmas Favorites Week - Day 5

We’re getting in the mood for Christmas this week and featuring some of our favorite Christmas stamp sets by Newton’s Nook Designs! Get inspired all week long with beautiful Christmas cards on on our blog each day as the NND Design Team features some of their favorite Christmas stamp sets! Plus, you can save 10% off on any stamps currently in the Christmas category (and their coordinating dies) in our shop! The new NND christmas stamps will be released later this month too, so stay tuned for more holiday fun!

Today we have Christmas inspiration from Lydia and Larissa! 

This sweet shaker card by Lydia is perfect for Christmas greeting and more! She used our sweet Fox Hollow set for the fox and colored him with the no line coloring technique! The trees in the background of the shaker and the sentiment are also from this set. 

Larissa created this adorable slider card with the pup on the sled from our Snow Day stamp set! Isn't it so cute how he's sliding across the snow hill? She added on a top hat from the Flaky Family stamp set and the sign is from the Winter Tails stamp set! The trees in the background are from the Fox Hollow and Whispering Pines stamp sets! She really used a ton of fun stamps to make this scene!

Thank you Card and Farewell to Tessa Wise!

Saying Thank you & Farewell to Tessa!

Did you receive some great Holiday gifts? It's time to get working on those thank you cards now! Today I am sharing a sweet little thank you card by Tessa Wise! Tessa created this adorable card using the "snow" pup from our Flaky Family stamp set. This set is meant for creating your own snow family but Tessa has shown us how you can take out just one image and make a non-holiday card with it too! She added in the "thanks" banner  and the little "so much" from the Winged Wishes stamp set.

I am sad to say that  - this card marks the LAST post for Tessa Wise as part of our Design Team at Newton's Nook Designs! We have really enjoyed having Tessa on our Team! She has been with us since day one! She started this journey with us on our very first Design Team about a year and a half ago -  and we've loved every minute! Her bright and colorful designs have really ALWAYS made us smile! We are so sad to see her go but we've enjoyed having her hang out with us for so long! We definitely wish her the very best as she continues to do fun things in the craft world and will definitely be checking out her blog - Crafty Girl Designs - often to say hello!

I thought it would be fun to re-share a few of my favorite cards by Tessa:
(although it was really hard to pick just a few since she has so many great ones)

This was one of the first cards Tessa created for us on her first month on the team! I still LOVE those patterned kitties! So adorable! The kitty image and sentiment are from Newton's Antics, the very first "Newton" set we released!  Her card was first posted here.

This is still another of my Favs that Tessa Created. I just love the pink fox from the Sweetheart Tails stamp set paired with the fun grey, olive and teal. First posted here. 

 I just love the cute pink card with the snowman from the Frozen Friends stamp set. Such fun colors for a winter card! First posted here. 

 This card showcases some awesome watercolor skills by Tessa using the Love Grows stamp set! First posted here.

This card is a an awesome example of Tessa's eye for using with bright colors - I just love the color combo and bright colorful coloring on that kitty from the Newton's Birthday Bash set! First posted here.

I love the technique Tessa used for coloring with q-tips on this card using our Flirty Flamingos stamp set.  First posted - with video - here.

And a more recent favorite - I just love how Tessa cut around this snowman family from the Flaky Family stamp set  with such precise detail! So amazing! First posted here. 

Thank you so much, Tessa, for the awesome inspiration! We'll miss you!

Tropical Flamingo Holiday Card by Danielle Pandeline

Tropical Holiday Cheer! 

Here is a fun way to create a tropical Holiday card by Danielle!  Danielle used our cute litte flamingo couple from the  Flirty Flamingos stamp set and then added in the little santa hat from the Flaky Family stamp set! What a fun way to make a Christmas card for someone who has more of a "tropical" holiday. She did add a bit of fun snow in too- so it's a fun mix of both!

Newton waits for Santa Card by Shellye McDaniel

Newton watches for Santa!

This card by Shellye is just SO ADORABLE! She had a vision of our favorite kitty, Newton, from the Newton's Curious Christmas stamp set sitting in a window and looking out at santa so she created this fun window! I love the 3D effect she gave it by adding the layer of plastic to make it look like a real window!  She also used the sentiment "Sending Holiday Cheer" from the Flaky Family stamp set. Here's a close-up so you can see a bit better:

Inky Paws Challenge #16 - Christmas Theme

Happy Friday and the the first day of #16 Inky Paws Challenge!  

This month's challenge is to a Create a project with a Christmas Theme!

Are you ready to get your paws inky with us and play along to win a prize? The Challenge winner will receive a $10 store credit to our online store and a Inky Paws Challenge Top Pick Badge to add to your blog! If we get more than 15 participants, we will choose two winners so be sure to tell your friends to play along! 

Since this challenge falls over a holiday weekend we decided to give a little extra time - you have three weeks to play along instead of the usual two. Deadline to enter is Friday, December 12th, 2014 at Midnight CST. The winners will be announced on the NND blog on Monday, November 15th.

Are you ready to play along and get your paws inky? 

• Create a NEW project (card or other paper craft item).

• Your project MUST use at least one Newton's Nook Designs stamped image (or free digital stamp - check out our Freebies page).

Our guest designer for November Donna Mikasa decided to play along with this adorable card using our Winter Tails stamp set.  She changed the snowball that Winston is rolling on into a pretty ornament! Such a fun idea! I love the fun shape of this card too! 

Tessa created this adorable card using the little crab and "joy" stamps from the SEAson's Greetings stamp set! I love the layered tags and little staples as decoration! 

Here's a really fun, non-traditional holiday card by Danielle! I love the cute Dino in the santa hat! So fun! She used a bunch of NND sets on this: Snowflakes from Beautiful Blizzard, Dinosaur from Prehistoric Pals, Snowy hills from Winter Tails, Santa Hat from Winston's Home for Christmas and "be merry" from Christmas Delivery

Larissa created this Gorgeous Christmas shaker card using our new Beautiful Blizzard stamp set. I love the red and white combo - reminds me of holiday peppermints!

Jess created this adorable card using our Sweetheart Tails stamp set with the sentiment fromWinston's Home for Christmas . I love that she used a "love/Valentine" set and made it work for Christmas! What a great way to get more milage out of your stamps!

Samantha created this lovely watercolored Christmas card using the cute kitty in the wreath from the Newton's Holiday Mischief set. The "merry"& "Christmas" stamps are the Holiday Wishes stamp set. 

Crafty Math-Chick created this fun doggie Holiday Treat Bag using the cute pup in sweater from the Canine Christmas stamp set! So cute how she matched the sweater on the pup with the background paper!  

Here's one by me - I used the girl and guy snowmen from the Flaky Family set - stamped on Kraft colored card stock so I could color them white. I also added a bunch of snowflakes in white ink and the "Merry Christmas from our Family to yours" sentiment!

Snowman Family by Stephanie Muzzulin

From our Family to Yours!

Today I'm sharing this super cute project by Stephanie Muzzulin using our adorable snow family from the Flaky Family stamp set! I love the pretty frame she gave them - it looks like a snowy family portrait! I also love that she placed their little twiggy arms facing inward to their bellies - that way they were easy to cut out! Such a good idea if you'd like to add some dimension to your project!

This set has so many fun possibilities - you can combine the snow guy, snow gal, and snow pets to create your own family or just make a fun scene! Plus there area bunch of cool hats and a scarf to keep them all warm! I don't know about you but I had to pull out my hat and scarf this week. It's COLD here!!

Snowy Greetings Snowman Card by Tessa Wise

Snowy Greetings!

This cute card by Tessa Wise is jam-packed with snowy fun! I love how Tessa stamped all those adorable snowmen  (and snow ladies) to create this fun scene. She did some amazing cutting around them too! Wowsers!!  The snowmen she used are from our Flaky Family Stamp Set!  I also love the bits of snowy sequins and the the little details she added liked the polka dots on the pink hat!!

This set is so fun because it lets you customize the "snow family" to mimic your own - it even has a snowdog and snowcat! If you haven't checked it out yet here's a peek at the whole set- can you see all the fun possibilities?

Embossed Christmas card with Lydia!

I just love it when Design Team members come up with ideas that I never would have! This beautiful card by Lydia  uses the pretty "from our family to yours" sentiment from our Flaky Family stamp set and the cute little holly leaves from our Christmas Delivery set. I love how she stamped that little holly image over and over in rows and created a really beautiful embossed background! What a great idea! and the little gemstones for the holly give it that special finishing touch!

Sandy Snowman for a Beach Christmas Card!

Samantha Mann created this Super fun Beachy Christmas card using Snowmen! I LOVE this idea. Samantha used the cute  snowmen from our new Flaky Family stamp set combined with the sandcastle from the Newton's Summer Vacation stamp set! She also combined words fromthe two sets to create a custom message - so adorable!! What a great card for those who have sandy instead of "snowy" holidays!!
