You're Super!

Today Ellen has created a fun superhero dog card that is sure to make the recipient feel appreciated!

The super card features the pup from our Dress Up Doxies wearing a superhero cape and mask! Although stamp set has a halloween theme the images in it work great for other types of cards too, like this fun superhero themed teacher card!  She colored the image of the cute pup using copic markers (find full supply list on Ellens blog) and used the coordinating Dress Up Doxies Die Set to cut it out. 

She created a fun city scene by adding some tall buildings from our Newton Dreams of New York Stamp Set (retiring). The sky is filled with fun glittery stars that were added on using our Cascading Stars Stencil. She also addded a hill from black cardstock using our Land Borders Die Set. The whole scene is inside a circle that was created with our Circle Frames Die Set.

She also added a bit of personalization to the inside of the card to make it teacher themed. She added an award ribbon from our Terrific Terriers Stamp Set and a sentiment from our Classy Teachers Stamp Set

Teacher Thank You Card by Samantha Mann

A Great Card for a Great Teacher!

Do you need a cute idea for a fun thank you card for your teachers? This amazing card by Samantha would be perfect for letting them know how much they are appreciated! To create this card, Samantha combined the kitty with the apple from our Newton Dreams of New York Stamp Set (retiring) with the kitty on the stack of books from our Newton's Book Club Stamp Set. These two images work purr-fectly together for a fun school themed image! She colored those kitties using bright watercolors and fussy cut them out by hand. So incredible!

For her card base, she masked off the top half of her card and inked it up using distress inks. Then she stenciled stars over it using our Cascading Stars Stencil with white texture paste. She added the sentiment from our  Classy Teachers Stamp Set, embossing it in white onto a strip of black cardstock.

Pumpkin Spice Card by Amy Tsuruta

Pumpkin Spice Season!

Do you love Pumpkin Spice? The start of pumpkin spice lattes being available really does signify Fall is nearly here! Today Amy created this gorgeous fall card featuring our Fall-ing For You Stamp Set with gorgeous pastels. The unexpected soft color palette makes this Fall card feel extra special!

The fun sentiment from the Fall-ing For You Stamp Set is the focus of her card and was stamped onto a stitched rectangle shape from our Frames & Flags Die Set. She stenciled a soft peach houndstooth pattern around the edges using our Houndstooth Stencil. At the top, she added a sweet little acorn and leaf that she die cut using our Autumn Leaves Die Set. At the bottom, she added the coffee mug and pumpkins, also from the Fall-ing For You Stamp Set.

She added in a sweet little yellow apple too, using the image from our Newton Dreams of New York Stamp Set. The whole panel was framed with a peach scalloped frame that was cut out with our Frames & Flags Die Set. 

What a gorgeous Fall creation! I hope this card inspires you to broaden your color palette for Fall!

Hi Krafty Friends, I'm Jen from Katahdin Krafts. My krafty korner of the world is in northern Maine, where I live with my very tolerant husband, three active homeschooled children, two naughty dogs, two spit fire cats and a very stubborn house pig! So I officially reside in a funny farm! My passion for art and crafting began at a young age and led me to earn my BFA. I concentrated in photography which was an easy stepping stone into paper crafting. I am honored to have the opportunity to be a guest designer for Newton's Nook Designs for the month of April. What a great opportunity from a fabulous company, thank you so much for having me!

Hello Krafty Friends, Jen here from Katahdin Krafts. I have the honor of being April’s Guest Designer for Newton’s Nook Designs! I have been a Newton’s fan for quite sometime, often working with their products.

For this project I was inspired by our global events and wanted to showcase unity for our hurting world. What better way then Newton’s Dreams of Traveling Stamp Sets! We truly are all in this together, whether we are on the front lines, staying home, or delivering lunches, we are all trying our best. I’ve often stated how crafting is my therapy, well we all need some sort of mental outlet now, stay healthy everyone.


On this card I used the Netwon Dreams of Italy, Newton Dreams of Paris, Newton Dreams of New York, and Newton Dreams of London stamp sets. I stamped them out using copic friendly ink. Then colored them with the following color palette:

• Newton’s Fur – Y35, Y38, YR15 and YR16. His ears are R20.
• London Newton – B24, B28, and R27.
• Paris Newton – B24, B28, R14, R17, R27, T0, and T1.
• NYC Newton – R14, R17, T0, and T1.
• Italy Newton – G3, G5, R14, R27, C00, and C1.
• Empire State Building – N0, N2, and N4.
• Big Ben – E51, E53, E55, and E57.
• Brooklyn Bridge – N2, N4, and N5.
• Leaning Tower of Pisa – W1, W3, and W4.
• Eiffel Tower – C1, C3, C5, E31, and E34.
• Cloud – C00, C0, and C1.

Next, I used Lawn Fawn’s Foursquare Backdrop to cut a panel for my card. I then inked up the four sections with Distress Oxide Inks. For the sky I used Tumbled Glass, Shaded Lilac and Tattered Rose. Then I used Mowed Lawn for the grass.


I then used the Newton’s Nook Designs Clouds Stencil to add some interest in the sky areas.


For my card base I cut a piece of Chili Red Classic Cardstock to 8.5″ x 5.5″ and scored it at the 4.24″ mark line, to create an A2 sized card. I used a liquid glue to adhere the frame from the backdrop die to the card base, and popped the inked sections back in place.


Then it was time to assemble my card, I really love how it turned out! I had this concept in mind for a couple of weeks, and it was exciting to see it come to life.

Tatiana created this adorable little square card using the kitties in boxes from our new Newton Loves Boxes Stamp Set! Love the brightly colored boxes! She also added a fun paw print background using embossing paste with our Pawprint Stencil. 

This adorable donut card by Samantha will make you smile! She used the fun image of Newton inside a giant donut from the new Newton's Donut Stamp Set and layered it over a fun distress inked background! She added on the funny "Donut know what I'd do without Mew" Sentiment too. 

Ellen created a whole series of moving cards using the fun new Newton Loves Boxes Stamp Set. For each card she colored a cute kitty in a moving box. Then she added some fun hearts behind them using the Tumbling Hearts Stencil and framed them in little scallop edged frames using the new Framework Die Set.

This sweet and simple donut card was created by Jennifer She used the cute kitty and donut from our new Newton's Donut Stamp Set as the focal image for her card and added  the "Life is better with sprinkles" Sentiment. She finished her cute card with some fun washi tape around the sides and a lime green card base. 

This card by Naki will make you laugh! She used the kitty who is just barely fitting in the box from our new Newton Loves Boxes Stamp Set. Then she created her own custom message to say "If I fits I sits" using our Essential Alphabet Die Set. So funny! 

Larissa created a fun shaker card using the new Newton's Donut Stamp Set. She created a shaker frame using the scallop edged frames from the new Framework Die Set. She stamped the little donuts and colored them to put inside her shaker along with some sprinkles. Adorable!

This card by Amanda would be perfect to send to a cat owner who knows that cats love boxes more than gifts! She colored the cute image of the kitty in the box using our new Newton Loves Boxes Stamp Set and paired it with the sentiment, adding it to a stitched rectangle panel that was cut our using our Frames & Flags Die Set.

This adorable donut card was created by Maria. She colored that cute kitty and donut image from our new Newton's Donut Stamp Set and layered it over a fun tag set that was cut out using our Fancy Edges Tag Die Set. She also added in a little bow from our Pines & Holly Die Set. To finish the card off she dry embossed the fun postage stamp edge using the new Framework Die Set.

Holly created this fun card using our new Newton Loves Boxes Stamp Set. She colored the image of the kitty and boxes and layered it over a fun Scallop Edged Rectangle panel that was die cut using the new Framework Die Set. She also used the Frames & Flags Die Set to add on the banner for the "We've moved" Sentiment.

Amanda used the Essential Alphabet to die cut the whole alphabet out of black! Then she added a bookshelf below! What a clever way to use the showcase the die set for a school themed card! She added on the kitty from the Newton's Graduation Stamp Set in a lovely blue graduation cap too! 

Jennifer created this adorable card featuring the kitty with the globe from the Newton's Graduation Stamp Set. Since she left off the graduation hat this card could be used for fun to give a teacher or student any time of year!

Ellen created a fun graduation city scene! She used the little city from the Snow Globe Scenes Stamp Set and the big building from our Newton Dreams of New York Stamp Set as a backdrop for the kitty from the Newton's Graduation Stamp Set. She also added in some clouds using the Cloudy Sky Stencil and the "YAY" using letters from the new Essential Alphabet Die Set. 

Juliana used the new Essential Alphabet Die Set to create a fun inlaid die cut background for her graduation card! Then she added light grey graduation caps over the top of the letters! This is the perfect backdrop for the kitty with the globe from the Newton's Graduation Stamp Set! 

Hip Hip Hooray! This adorable graduation card was created by Naki! She colored the kitty from the Newton's Graduation Stamp Set with soft no-line coloring and added on the Hip Hip, Hooray from the Uplifting Wishes Stamp Set and some confetti using our Balloon Shaker Die Set.  Purr-fect for a celebration! 

Tatiana created a fun alphabet background for her card by die cutting letters on masking paper using our new Essential Alphabet Die Set. Then she inked over them with blue ink for a fun background! She then layered on the kitty with the globe from the Newton's Graduation Stamp Set. 

This card by Maria is super upbeat and pretty! She used a fun rainbow background and added a layer of clouds using our Sky Borders Die Set. Then she added on the sentiments and cute kitty from our Newton's Graduation Stamp Set.

The cheerful primary colors on this card by Holly go perfect with the graduation theme! She added on the cute kitty with his diploma and the "mew did it" sentiment from the new Newton's Graduation Stamp Set! What a great card for a celebration!

This fun card by Samantha is perfect for a graduate! She die cut out letters to spell "congrats" using the new Essential Alphabet Die Set and layered a fun pink and orange inked panel behind the letters! Then she added the "mew did it!" and kitty with the globe from the new Newton's Graduation Stamp Set. So cool! 

Larissa added a fun map background to her card with the kitty and the globe from the Newton's Graduation Stamp Set! What a fun combo! This kitty is ready to take on the world! Her coloring is amazing too!
