Inky Paws Challenge #37 - Cozy Plaids

This month's challenge is:

Create a project using plaid!

Are you ready to get your paws inky with us and play along to win a prize? Are you ready to play along and get your paws inky?

• Create a NEW project (card or other paper craft item).

• Your project MUST use at least one Newton's Nook Designs stamped image (or free digital stamp - check out our Freebies page).

• Post your project to your blog or to an online photo gallery such as Flickr, Pinterest, or splitcoaststampers (on splitcoast please use keywords newtonsnook and IPC37).

• Link back to this challenge (if posting in an online gallery copy the link into the photo description). 

• Submit your project to this challenge using the InLinkz widget below. You must submit a DIRECT link to your post page.

• Have more than one great idea? You can enter more than once! Just link up each card separately. 
• TIP: Please make sure your photo in focus  - We can't pick you as a winner if we can't see your card clearly because your photo is blurry! 

Here's some inspiration!

Several of our Design Team Members decided to play along - check out all the awesome PLAID cards they created! Read the description below each card to see who made it.

Samantha created a plaid background for her card using masks and inks! So cool! She created the city using images from the Newton Dreams of New York  and Newton Dreams of London stamp sets and the sleigh and sentiment are from the Newton's Curious Christmas stamp set. 

Larissa created a sweet little shaker card with a fun plaid border! She used images from the Bushels of Love stamp set (Simon Says Stamp Exclusive). Adorable!

Naki created a fun fall thank you card using plaid paper and letters! She added in pumpkins cut out with the Pick-a-Pumpkin Die Set. That stitched ribbon is so pretty too!

Yuki created a duo of adorable dog cards using dogs from our Canine Christmas stamp set with fun plaid backgrounds. The color combo on these cards of black, red, kraft and white is one of my favorites for Holiday cards!

Danielle added plaid paper in fall colors to create this fun card! The angles of paper in the background are so fun! Winston from the Winston's Birthday stamp set really pops off the card! 

I pulled out one of my favorite christmas images, Winston driving a car laden with holiday goodies from the Winston's Home for Christmas Stamp Set. I colored the image with watercolors and then added plaid paper along with some black chalkboard style washi tape. I finished it off with the sentiment "have a beary merry christmas" embossed in white on a black circle.

April Release - Reveal Day 2 - Tag Sampler

Today is our second reveal day for our April Release and we are featuring the new Tag Sampler stamp set! We are giving the stamp set away to one lucky winner so make sure you read all the way to the bottom of this post to see how to win!

Our April Guest Designer, Christy, created this adorable tag for a box of cookies! So yummy!

Here is a pretty tag by Yukari! I love the colors with the gold embossing and bling!

Nina-Marie combined sentiment and tiny yarn heart from this new set with the image of kitty from our Newton Unwinds stamp set! What a fun combo!

What a cute little tag by Lydia! I love the bright colors on the tag and on those cute crocheted granny squares too!

Samantha used a bunch of the tags to make a fun scrapbook page! I love the bright watercolors over the black and white background! Super cool!

Stephanie created a simple tag to add onto this fun card! I love all the buttons and flowers too! This would be so fun to give with a handmade gift!

Here is a fun neon tag card by Jess! I love the contrast of the neon with the black and white!

Larissa created this adorable little treat bag! I love the fun colors on the tag and the addition of the little cupcake from the Winston's Birthday stamp set. 

Danielle created this fun card! I love the simple black and white background! It really makes the colorful tag pop off!

Kimberly created this sweet pastel tag and card to go with a baby blanket gift! What a great way to dress up the lovely gift!

Crafty Math-Chick punched holes and crocheted onto her card! How cool is that? I love the fun frame she created for the tag! This would go great with a hand crocheted gift!

Elephant Birthday Card by Kimberly Rendino

Birthday Elephants!

Today we have the super cute elephant card by Kimberly! She took the cute elephant image from our  Wild About Zoo stamp set and stamped it once and then MIRROR stamped it so the two elephants could face each other! So CUTE! Have you tried mirror stamping? It's such a great technique to get more mileage out of your stamps! Kimberly finished off her scene using balloons from the Winston's Birthday stamp set and the swirly "for you" from the Beautiful Blossoms Stamp set.

Let's Shell-abrate Card by Yukari Yoshioka

Shell-abrate!

Today we are sharing an adorable Birthday card by Yukari. She used the cute little image of the turtle bringing a gift on his back from our new In Slow Motion stamp set! Isn't it adorable how she added on a balloon tied to the Turtle's tail from the Winston's Birthday stamp set! What a fun idea to make the card even more celebratory! She finished off the image with the "Shell-abrate" and "Happy Birthday" sentiments - also from the In Slow Motion stamp set! This is such a cute card - perfect for a birthday card for a guy or a girl!

Fun Friday Inspiration x3!

This cute "hang in there" card is by Samantha Mann. She used our cutie monkey from the Hanging Around set and gave him some of Winston's Balloons from the Winston's Birthday Set! So adorable! 

Here's a cute little scene created by Jess  using our Wild Child Stamp Set. I just love those cut little white tigers sitting in the grass! 

Here's one I created. I used the possum from our Hanging Around set to make a simple and sweet card to say hi.

I used three different stamp sets for this card: Winston's Birthday (balloons!), Boo Crew (Winston as a ghost!) and Simply Sentimental (part of the sentiment)!

I made this for a specific little birthday boy who LOVES ghosts (and even had a ghost themed birthday party!).
All of the images were watercolored with distress markers!

Samantha Mann created this super fun magical card using the citrus color combo and FOUR different sets! She used our cute dragon from the Magical Dreams stamp set and the sweet little clouds from the Spring Showers set. Isn't is super cute how she added all those gifts hanging on lines over his head from the Winston's Birthday and Holiday Wishes stamp sets? Gold campfire scene with Samantha Mann

Beautiful golden campfire scene! 

Today I'm sharing this gorgeous campfire scene card by Samantha Mann! Isn't it beautiful? It looks like the campfire is casting off a stunning glow through the trees! 

Samantha used Winston the bear from the Winston's Birthday set and gave him a s'more and to toast with fire from our Campfire Tails stamp set! This card is so pretty! What a great birthday card!

Sharing some Winston Love Today!

I just LOVE Winston!

Isn't he so fun? Our Bear, Winston, is one of my favorite stamps to color - and this set, Winston's Birthday is so great - I've made a bunch of birthday cards with it already and I can see it staying in my favorites for sure!  For this first card I just colored Winston holding the fish  with copics and then added the sentiment "grin and bear it" in the card corner. Then I added some patterned paper, washi tape and bakers twine (my 3 MUST-HAVE card add-ons).

 I also added some enamel dots that I made by melting plastic beads (see papercrafts article here) . Oh, and the "another Birthday" was stamped on some bright yellow-green paper and added on as a flag! I LOVE how this turned out!

More Winston!
And another card featuring Winston! For this one I stamped him on watercolor paper and colored him with Inktense Watercolor pencils (Love these). I stamped the hat on a scrap so I could cut it out and "pop" it off his head! 

This card also uses some fun patten papers and bakers twine! I also used a border punch to create the fun scalloped edge!
