Rainbow Of Bookmarks!

Today we are sharing these beautiful watercolor bookmarks by Rosie!

Hello! It’s Rosie and I’m back with another project. This time I created a set of bookmarks and one was used on a card.

 

To start I die cut a bookmark from the Bookmark II Die Set and card panel from Neenah Solar White cardstock. I wanted to create a rainbow of color in the background so ink smooshing Hero Arts Reactive and Tim Holtz Distress inks. There are lots of ways to do this technique but I like to smoosh on my glass mat add a spritz of water and then use a recycled sheet of acetate to pick up the color and smoosh on the paper. I also don’t go in rainbow order when doing this. I start with the middle and end colors then space the other colors in between. This gives me better spacing and allows each color to dry a bit before adding an overlapping color. After that dried, I used the tiny paw print stamp from the All Booked Up Stamp Set to add subtle paw prints in coordinating colors.

 

While I waited for those inky panels to dry, I stamped and colored the other images in the All Booked Up Stamp Set. I die cut those and stacked the die cuts.

I die cut another bookmark to use on the card panel. This bookmark was too long to add to the card panel so I did some partial die cutting to shorten the bookmark. I added tiny paw prints with a light grey ink and adhered the cat die cut. The I stamped the sentiment with Versfine ink near the bottom. To finish the card I adhered the ink smooshed panel to a card base and die cut the scalloped frame from vellum with the Frames & Flags Die Set. I used a tape runner to adhere the vellum to the panel and added foam tape to pop up the bookmark.

To finish the bookmark I added another bookmark to the back that had a rainbow of paw prints. I adhered the back to the front and added the dog die cut and sentiment. I didn’t have a coordinating ribbon to I colored a pink ribbon with a black alcohol ink marker.

Always Paws for a Good Book Card by Diane Morales

Book Lovers Advice!
Today we are sharing a wonderful and happy card by Diane!

This card features:
All Booked Up Stamp Set
All Booked Up Die Set
Black & White Basics 6x6 Paper Pad
Fractured Card Layout Die
Frames & Flags Die Set

We love our books here in the Pacific Northwest. We adore our pets as well. The All Booked Up Stamp Set is a perfect combo of both of these.

To start this card I created the background using the Fractured Card Layout Die. I used my chose my favorite combination of paper, black, white with a splash of color. I used a baby blue card stock to add that splash of color. To mix things up I used the Black & White Basics 6x6 Paper Pad on the corner pieces to give the background some texture.

After assembling my background and setting it aside to dry, I worked on my image.I stamped out the image from All Booked Up. I colored my books, nothing too fancy, just some fun complementary colors. Once I finished, I cut my image out using the coordinating die. To assemble this card I adhered my fractured background onto a white card stock base. The banner that I created using the Frames & Flags Die Set along with one of the sentiments from the stamp set. I love to have some height on my cards, so I attached my image to the front of the card with foam tape. Finally, I added on my paw prints and a few enameled dots for flair. I love the way this card came out!

The Fractured Card Layout Die is one of my favorites and I would use it on every card if I could!

Dog & Cat Bookmarks by Amanda Wilcox

PAWS Here! 

Love to read or know someone who does? These bookmarks by Amanda would be the perfect gift to give a book lover!

To create this fun duo of bookmarks she started by cutting out two bookmarks using our Bookmark Die Set, one from white cardstock and one from lime green. Then she added stars onto both using our  Cascading Stars Stencil.

Next, she stamped the images of the cat and dog on large book stacks from our All Booked Up Stamp Set. She colored the stacks of books in fun bright colors using watercolors. She cut the images out using the coordinating All Booked Up Die Set. Then she assembled the bookmarks, adding different sentiments to each.

Here is a closer look at the dog bookmark:

On this bookmark she added the die cut pawprint and "paws here" sentiment. These are both also included in the Bookmark Die Set. 

Here is another look at the cat bookmark:

On this bookmark she added the sentiment "Not MEOW, I'm reading!" from the All Booked Up Stamp Set. This bookmark would be perfect for a cat lover! 

To complete the bookmarks she simply added ribbons to the tops!

Always Paws for a Good Book Card by Farhana Sarker

PAWS for a good book!

This lovely card by Farhana features a is filled with stacks of books and a kitty too, making it a perfect way to send smiles to lovers of books and cats!

For her card front she started with a white card base and masked off the bottom. On the top she used stamped the image of a stack of books from our Never Enough Books Stamp Set several times and embossed them in white. Then she inked over it using several Distress inks in soft colors.

Next, she stamped the image of the kitty on the tall stack of books from our All Booked Up Stamp Set. She colored the books using copic colors that coordinate with the background colors. Then she cut the image out using the coordinating All Booked Up Die Set. She layered the image over the inked background, raising it up with some dimensional foam adhesive. Then so added the sentiment "Always PAWS for a good book!" from our All Booked Up Stamp Set. This sentiment works perfectly with the kitty and book images! 

Here are the copic marker colors she used on the image of the kitty sitting on the pile of books: 

This adorable card would be perfect to send a smile to anyone who loves books and cats!

Reading Makes Ruff Days Better Card by Zsofia Molnar

So Many Books!

Today Zsofia has created a card full of colorful books that is sure to make a book lover smile! 

This adorable card features two stacks of books from our Never Enough Books Stamp Set and another stack of books with a puppy on top from our All Booked Up Stamp Set. The book piles from these two sets pair perfectly together! Zsofia stamped the three book images and then colored them in fun bright colors. She also added in the eyeglasses, clock and mug from the two sets. All the images were cut out using the coordinating Never Enough Books Die Set and All Booked Up Die Set. 

For her card, she used our Frames & Tags Die Set to cut the frame with the zig zag edge. She used this as a frame for her scene, arrange all the fun images together and then adding the sentiment "Reading makes RUFF days better!" from the All Booked Up Stamp Set along the top. This fun sentiment really goes perfectly with the puppy sitting on the pile!

If you know someone who loves dogs and books, this would be the perfect card to send to them to brighten their day!

Always Paws for a Good Book Card by Samantha Mann

Cats + Books = A Good Day! 

What makes a day better than cats & books? Today Samantha is featuring both on her adorable card!

For this card she combines two of our favorite book and cat themed sets, Newton's Book Club Stamp Set and All Booked Up Stamp Set. She stamped the kitties on perched on stacks of books from each set and colored the books in a rainbow of bright colors! She used the coordinating Newton's Book Club Die Set and All Booked Up Die Set to cut the images out. She also included a pair of glasses from the All Booked Up Stamp Set, colored in purple. So cute! 

For her sentiment she used a speech bubble that was cut out from black cardstock using our Speech Bubbles Die Set. She stamped the sentiment from the All Booked Up Stamp Set, stamping it twice so she could accent the word "paws" with a pink pop up! 

Then it was all layered over a dotted background created from wide washi tape. So adorable!

Reading Makes Ruff Days Better Card + Bookmark by Tatiana Trafimovich

A Card + Removable Bookmark! 

Today we are sharing a card and bookmark by Tatiana! This fun card features a bookmark that can be easily removed by the recipient to use! What a fun idea!

To create this card she started out by making a bookmark that fit on the front of the A2 sized card. Since our Bookmark Die Set is a little too long, she did a partial die cut, lining it up and cutting it a second time to make it a bit shorter. 

Next, she stamped the adorable pup on a stack of books from our All Booked Up Stamp Set directly onto the bookmark.  she colored the image in fun bright colors and then added some baker's twine for a tassel.  

For the card, she created a paw print background using our Petite Paw Prints Stencil and some white texture paste over a light gray panel. 

The last thing to do was the create something to hold the bookmark in place. For this she used a red banner from our Frames & Flags Die Set, adding the sentiment onto the banner from the All Booked Up Stamp Set. She also stamped and colored two sets of eyeglasses from the All Booked Up Stamp Set, cutting them out with the  All Booked Up Die Set. Then she added the banner and glasses to her card front, adhering  just outside edges so that the bookmark could slide underneath and still be removed! How clever!
