Stencil a Beautiful Birthday Card!

Today Zsofia has created a beautiful birthday card by layering several of our favorite stencils together! 

She started by using our Quatrefoil Stencil with a light gray ink. She added this pattern in opposite corners, lightly fading it to white on the edges. Then she used our Plaid Stencil Set and added that on the two remaining corners. For this one she used both layers of the 2 piece stencil, using teal ink with one layer and blue ink with the other layer. Again she did just a little stenciling in each corner and faded the edges. The last stencil she used was our Music Stencil, which she layered over the quatrefoil pattern. She used black ink with this pattern to help it pop. She also added subtle ink splatters for a bit of extra texture. What a gorgeous layering of patterns!

For the birthday message, she added a couple of sentiments from our Birthday Essentials Stamp Set. On the top she used the word "celebrate" and on the bottom she added the message "At least you're not as old as you will be next year" for a fun birthday greeting! A few shimmery rhinestone embellishments give the care a little bit of sparkle.

Fa-La-La-La Llama Card by Amanda Wilcox

Holiday Llama Card

This holiday card by Amanda will get you in the mood to sing Christmas tunes! 

To create this adorable card she features the image of the holiday llama from our Llama Delivery Stamp Set. She colored the llama in soft holiday colors and added fun accents using a white gel pen. The image was cut out using the coordinating Llama Delivery Die Set. 

Next, she created a fun wreath to surround the llama. For the wreath base she cut out a circle using our Circle Frames Die Set from kraft colored paper. She added music notes to the circle using our Music Stencil. Then she cut out lots of branches in using two shades of green paper with our Pines & Holly Die Set and adhered them all around the edge of the circle to create a wreath shape. She also cut out the bow and pinecones using the same Pines & Holly Die Set and placed them onto the wreath as well. 

She tucked that cute llama into the wreath and added the "Fa-la-la-la-llama" words stamped onto a speech bubble above his head. The speech bubble was cut out using our Speech Bubbles Die Set. So cute! 

This whole wreath was then layered over a teal and blue inked card base. Some paint splatters add a fun and creative detail to the background too!

2022 Cat Lovers Blog Hop!

2022 Cat Lovers Hop

This week is the 2022 Cat Lovers Hop! This hop is so fun and since the theme is CATS we knew we HAD to play along! To participate in this blog hop, you just have to create a project that features a cat theme  and upload it to the post on Her Peaceful Garden! We hope you can play along since there are some really awesome sponsors and prizes, including one from us at Newton's Nook Designs! 

Here's what I created:

Since we have a ton of different kitty stamp designs in our shop, it was hard to choose what to use for my card today, but I decided to feature our brand new Newton's Gift Stamp Set. This set features the kitty popping out of a gift box and holding a blank tag. The stamp set also includes a variety of sentiments that will fit on the tag so you can customize your greeting. For this card I chose to use "fa la la la MEOW" and created a card with a holiday music theme! I colored the image with watercolor markers and then cut it out using the coordinating Newton's Gift Die Set.

For the background I chose our Argyle Stencil Set and created the fun argyle pattern in that matched the colors I had used on the gift. This stencil set is awesome because it has two layers that easily line up. It's great for making two color backgrounds! I chose to make the diamond layer lime green and the stitching layer pink. Then I cut the panel out with our  Frames & Flags Die Set to give it a fun scalloped edge. 

I wanted to add some music to this card to match the sentiment so I used our Music Stencil with white texture paste on top of some vellum. After it had dried I cut it out into a scalloped circle using our Circle Frames Die Set. I also cut out a smaller scalloped circle using the lime green polka dot paper from our new Christmas Time Paper Pad. This paper pad has some great Christmas patterns but if you like kitties, you'll want to check out our Meowy Christmas Paper Pad too as it's jam packed with cute holiday kitty themes!

We hope you enjoy the cat hop! I you are not familiar with our brand yet, our company was named after our orange tabby, Newton. Sadly, we lost our 18 year old Newton in 2019. We miss him terribly but he still lives on in our hearts and our stamp designs! Our current resident kitty helper is named Marlowe. One of his favorite activities is walking across my keyboard, but he means to be a "good" helper! LOL! Here's a photo of Marlowe from the other day, he was being all sleepy while keeping me company on my craft desk!

Christmas in July Card by Amanda Wilcox

Christmas in July

Did you today it is exactly 5 months util Christmas? Amanda noticed this and decided to celebrate with a Christmas themed card today! 

For this lovely holiday card she used stamped and colored the nutcracker from our Nutcrackers Stamp Set. She added gold accents to his outfit for a fun festive touch. The image was cut out using our coordinating Nutcrackers Die Set. 

The background was created by using our Music Stencil with gold texture paste over a green inked panel. The postage edge was added by die cutting the panel using our Framework Die Set. So pretty!  The finishing touch is the sentiment "Joyful Tidings" from our Heartfelt Holidays Stamp Set which was embossed in white onto a banner die cut out using our 
Banner Trio Die Set. 

We hope this card has inspired you to get a jump start on your holiday cards! It's never to early to work ahead, that way you won't be rushing to get them done at the holidays!

Newton Makes Plans Card Trio by Amanda Wilcox

Three Adorable Kitty Themed Greetings!

Today we are sharing a trio of adorable kitty cards created by Amanda that are sure to make you smile! 

For this fun trio she features several of the mini Newton images from our Newton Makes Plans Stamp Set. This set has so many cute little kitties doing activities that are perfect for creating planner or scrapbook pages but they also work great on cards too! She colored nine different kitties and cut them out using the coordinating Newton Makes Plans Die Set. Then she adhered each of them on top of a small white circle that was cut out using the small circle from our Frames Squared Die Set. 

For the cards, she created three stenciled panels using our Confetti Stencil, Petite Paw Prints Stencil, Music Stencil. She simply inked the stencils up using a color that was slightly darker than her paper color for a fun tone-on-tone look.  She cut each stenciled panel out using our Framework Die Set to give it a postage edge. Then she mounted three kitty circles on each card, over a thin strip of white cardstock. 

For the sentiments, she chose three different sentiments from our Heartfelt Meows Stamp Set, stamping each one in black ink below the trio of kitties! So cute!

Isn't it pretty how she added white gel pen details and sparkle and shine? These little kitties are sure to send a big smiles!

Main Street Christmas Card by Amanda Wilcox

Most wonderful time of the year!

Today Amanda has created a beautiful holiday card that is sure to put you in a festive mood! 

This lovely card features the holiday street filled with houses from our Main Street Christmas Stamp Set. This big image is so fun to color! She even added bits of gloss to the windows to make them shine. She also stamped a bunch of the little snowflakes and the image of Santa's sleigh from the same stamp set, embossing them in gold and black. She cut all the images out using the coordinating Main Street Christmas Die Set. 

For her card base she used our Music Stencil along with distress inks to create a subtle pattern in the background! So beautiful! She stamped the sentiment from the Main Street Christmas Stamp Set along the bottom of the card. She also added some gold splatters into the sky for a lovely finishing touch!

Dear Santa Card by Ellen Haxelmans

Simply Santa!

Today Ellen has created a simple, yet stunning, Santa card! She features the image of Santa with a big stack of gifts from our Dear Santa Stamp Set, stamping it onto a kraft colored rectangle. She then colored the image using colored pencils. Isn't it cool how you color shades of white over kraft paper? 

To frame the image she cut a scallop edged rectangle from light blue paper using our Framework Die Set.  Behind that she added a patterned panel of music, created using our Music Stencil with red ink on kraft paper. So lovely!
