Send a Perfect Mix for Valentine's Day!

Amanda is back today with some Valentine inspiration. This sweet card features our Love Quarry Stamp Set and Valentine Word Trio Die Set along with some fun stenciling! 

Amanda stamped and colored the cement mixer truck from our Love Quarry Stamp Set choosing a color palette of red, pink and teal. She also stamped and colored a duo of construction cones using the same colors. She cut the images out using the coordinating Love Quarry Die Set and added some glossy effect to the images for a to add a bit of shine. 

She cut out the banner with the XOXO from our Valentine Word Trio Die Set in three colors (red, pink and white). She used the pink banner base and inserted the red and white letters back in. Then she added the truck and cones to the top of the banner. So fun!

For the background she used our Bokeh Hearts Stencil Set and our Petite Hearts Stencil. She started with a teal cardstock panel and used the two piece Bokeh Hearts stencil, adding teal ink over both stencil layers. This created a nice tone-on-tone effect. Then she applied more hearts using the Petite Hearts Stencil with white texture paste. The teal cardstock panel was cut out using our Frames & Flags Die Set.

She assembled the card together, using dimensional adhesive and layering it over a white scalloped background pane that was also cut out using our Frames & Flags Die Set.

Postage inspired Valentine Card by Amanda Wilcox

Mail Some Love this Valentine's Day!

Today Amanda is sharing a postage inspired valentine card, perfect for mailing love to a friend!

To create this beautiful Amanda cuts out the panel of postage stamp shapes using our Postage Stamp Layout Die Set. She cuts the panel of postage stamp shapes apart so that she has individual stamp edges. She  stamps favorite images from our Valentine Postage Sampler Stamp Set onto the interior pieces of the postage stamp shapes, adding glitter for an extra touch.  She stamped and colors the postmark image from the Valentine Postage Sampler Stamp Set, cutting it out with the coordinating Valentine Postage Sampler Die Set.  She also cuts out the word "love" from our Charming Hearts Frame Die Set and adds a bit of glitter to the letters.

She used our Bokeh Hearts Stencil Set to create the gorgeous heart background. To create this pretty pattern, she started with a piece of light pink cardstock and then stenciled the two layers of hearts in different shades of pink. So pretty! 

Once all the pieces were created, she assembled the card, arranging all the pieces over the heart background and popping them up with dimensional adhesive.

Kitty Love Card by Samantha Mann

 

Meow & Fur-ever! 

It's Feline Friday and we are sharing some kitty love today with inspiration by Samantha!

For this sweet kitty card she used the image of the two kitties sharing a bottle of milk from our Newton's Sweethearts Stamp Set. How adorable is that!? She colored the kitties, one gray and one brown, and added pink to their cheeks to make the image even sweeter! The image was cut out using the Newton's Sweethearts Die Set. 

For the card base she used our two piece Bokeh Hearts Stencil Set to create that amazing heart filled background. She cut the card panel a little short of the full card width and added a strip of black and white pattern along the right edge using our Meow Stencil too. What a fun touch! 

She layered the kitties over this background along with the sentiment, which was embossed in white onto a black banner that was die cut using our Banner Trio Die Set. 

If you know a couple with an anniversary coming up, this card would be purr-fect!

Kitty Themed Thank You Card by Amanda Wilcox

Kitty Themed Thank You!

Today we are sharing a kitty themed card by Amanda that is purr-fect for sending a special note of thanks!  

For this adorable card, Amanda started out by stamping the sweet duo of kittens from our Smitten Kittens Stamp Set. She colored them to look like her own two cats and used the coordinating Smitten Kittens Die Set to cut the image out. 

For the card background she used our Bokeh Hearts Stencil Set to create a gorgeous bokeh pattern using shades of blue ink with the two piece stencil set. Then she added the sentiment "thanks so much" from our Floral Roundabout Stamp Set, stamped onto a pink banner that was cut out using our Banner Trio Die Set.

To add more of feline theme, she also added the sentiment "you're the cat's meow" from the Smitten Kittens Stamp Set.She stamped it inside a speech bubble that was cut out using our Speech Bubbles Die Set.  Some white paint splatters and heart embellishments add the perfect finishing touches!

Here is a close up so you can see all the gorgeous details.

Bokeh Hearts Background Puppy Cards by January Guest Deisgner Tricia Barber

Hey there! Tricia back with you today, I could not wait to create a background with the Bokeh Hearts Stencil Set! I love bokeh backgrounds and these stencils were super fun to play with and so easy to line up! I did multiple colors on the first panel using Fossilized Amber, Mowed Lawn and Mermaid Lagoon Distress Oxide inks. 

I loved the panel so much that I wanted to try another and went with a monochromatic theme with an aqua panel and Peacock Feathers Distress ink. I splattered the aqua card panel with a little water. They were so easy to make with the Bokeh Hearts Stencil Set!    

I stamped two of the puppies from Puppy Playtime Stamp Set and colored with my Copic markers.  These puppies are adorable.  When I was putting the cards together, I thought it would be fun to create a shaker card from the multi colored panel. I had just the right sequins to match the ink colors on the panel.   For the aqua card, I simply mounted the panel onto the card base with foam tape. 

I added my puppies to the card panel and finished it off with sentiments from the Puppy Playtime Stamp Set. To shake or not shake? Multi colored or Monochromatic? Which one is your favorite?

Newton's Sweetheart Slimline Cards by June Guest Designer Amy Tollner

Hi everyone! Slimline cards are all the rage right now and I, along with many other people, just love them! My favorite thing to use with them are the dies that make little windows. I love using many stamps from one stamp set and then stamping cute sentiments in the windows. Well, you can make your own windows on a slimline card using the large heart die from the Darling Hearts Die Set! I used the images and sentiments from Newton’s Sweetheart Stamp Set along with the matching die set to create both cards. These are great cards for Valentine’s Day (I know we have a way to go on that one), Anniversaries, or just to say, “I love you!”



I first made my heart backgrounds with the Bokeh Hearts Stencil Set. Since the card is longer than the stencil I used both layers on the top of the card and then carefully lined up the stencil underneath the design to continue the pattern.

I used Distress Oxide Inks, Spun Sugar for Layer 1 and Worn Lipstick for Layer 2.

Next, I die cut my heart windows. I started with the middle heart because I felt it made it easier to get a more equal distance between the windows.

The great thing is, now you also have stitched hearts you can save for another project! I attached the die cut heart panel to my stenciled heart panel using foam tape for some dimension. I stamped the cute sentiments in the heart windows, which I switched up a little between the two cards, and colored my stamped images with Copic markers. I used the same colors on both cards, but changed them around a little too! For the second card I cut the die cut heart panel about ¼ inch thinner so that more of the stenciled heart panel was able to be seen on the sides. I wasn’t planning on making the second card, but I really wanted some more glitter than I had on the first one so I couldn’t help myself!

I finished off each card by adding a few pink and red jewels in the heart windows next to the sentiments, using a glitter pen on the little hearts, glossy accents on the glass of milk, and giving the kitties glitter and glossy collars!
