Sweet Easter Friends

Easter is just around the corner and today are sharing an adorable card by Diane featuring our Newton's Easter Basket Stamp Set. 

Diane stamped and colored the cut image Newton peeking out from behind the giant pile of Easter eggs from the Newton's Easter Basket Stamp Set. Isn't it adorable how he's watching the rabbit? 

She layered the image onto the fun banner shape cut out using the Basic Frames Die Set. She rotated the banner so that the angled edges were facing up and layered the cute Easter image along the bottom. She also stamped and colored several extra chicks and hearts from the Newton's Easter Basket Stamp Set to add around the image. Then she added the sentiment along the top.

For her card base she cut out a stitched rectangle using the Basic Frames Die Set from pink cardstock. She then lightly stenciled hearts all over the background using our Tumbling Hearts Stencil with pink ink. 

This adorable card would be perfect for sending to a friend on Easter!

Whisking You a Happy Birthday Card by Tatiana Trafimovich

Bake a Birthday Wish!

Today Tatiana is whisking up a birthday wish on this adorable card! 

This sweet and tasty birthday card features baking themed images from our Made from Scratch Stamp Set. Tatiana stamped and colored the mixer, oven mitt, mixing bowl and accessories from the stamp set, coloring them in shades of pink and teal. For her card today she fussy cut the images out by hand, but if you don't like to hand cut, you could use our Made From Scratch Die Set to cut the images out. 

For her card background, Tatiana created a heart pattern using our Tumbling Hearts Stencil. This matches perfectly with the little hearts on all the kitchen items! So cute! The finishing touch is the sentiment "Whisking you a Happy Birthday," which she embossed in white on a piece of black cardstock and hand cut out to add to her card. 

If you know someone who likes to bake, or just has a sweet tooth, this would be the perfect card to send them!

Inky Paws Challenge Team Guest Week - Sue Trembeth

This week we are featuring our Inky Paws Challenge Design Team!

Each day this week we will have a fun project featuring an IPC team member using some of their favorite Newton's Nook Designs products! These awesome designers share projects each Monday inspired by the challenges over at our Inky Paws Challenge blog so make sure to visit them over there too and get inspired to play along with us and our Inky Paws Challenges! 

Today we are featuring a project by Sue Trembeth!  

 Sue created this sweet kitty card featuring our Cat Silhouettes Die Set:

This sweet kitty card by Sue would be perfect for sending a note to a friend who lost their pet to let them know they are in your thoughts! To create this card she started out by using our Retro Sun & Palms Stencil Set and inking the stripes in the sunset in a rainbow of colors. She then cut the image out using our Heart Frames Die Set to create that wonderful rainbow heart. What a wonderful idea! 

In front of the heart she added a black kitty silhouette using our Cat Silhouettes Die Set.

For the card base she dry embossed a panel of hearts using our Tumbling Hearts Stencil and pressing it through a die cutting machine. Then she cut the panel out with our Frames & Flags Die Set to give it a scalloped and stitched edge. She also added the "thinking of you" sentiment from our Floral Roundabout Stamp Set, stamped onto a banner that was die cut using our Banner Trio Die Set. Keeping all the background elements white really makes that kitty and rainbow pop! 

She also added a note to the inside of the card:

The paw prints are from our  Cat-itude Stamp Set and the "with love" is from our Heartfelt Roses Stamp Set. 

What a purr-fect way to send caring thoughts to someone. You could also switch this to a dog theme simply by using a dog from our Dog Silhouettes Die Set instead of the cat.

Bunny Hugs and Kisses Card by Tina Herbeck

Bunny Hugs & Kisses!

Today Tina has created an a sweet bunny card that is perfect for sending loving wishes for Valentine's Day!

For this adorable card she colored two of the sweet bunnies from our Bitty Bunnies Stamp Set. She colored them in soft neutral browns and used the coordinating Bitty Bunnies Die Set to cut them out. She paired the bunnies with the big heart image from our Heartfelt Love Stamp Set. She stamped the big heart from this set, embossing it in white and cutting it out into a scalloped heart shape using the die from our Heart Frames Die Set. She added distress ink over the top  to give it a red to pink gradient. So pretty! 

She also added the sentiment "hugs & kisses" from the Heartfelt Love Stamp Set, embossing it onto a black banner that was cut out using our Banner Trio Die Set. 

Then she added even more hearts - because you can never have enough hearts for Valentine's Day - onto her white background using our Tumbling Hearts Stencil. This heart texture was created by dry embossing the stencil onto the paper by pressing it through her die cutting machine. 

This card turned out so cute! It's fun how you can make any image into a Valentine image, like she did with those sweet bunnies, just by pairing them with hearts! What will you create for this Valentine's Day?

A Birthday Brew Card by Tatiana Trafimovich

A Rainbow of Birthday Greetings!

This birthday card by Tatiana is sure to brighten any birthday! She uses several of our coffee and treat themed sets to create an amazing rainbow of coffee themed goodies!

She starts out by coloring the coffee grinder, french press and pour-over coffee pot and mugs from our Time for Coffee Stamp Set in a rainbow of colors. She adds in a duo of donuts and a muffin from our Love Bites Stamp Set too. She colors all these adorable images with copic markers, adding fun details and white gel pen highlights. The images were all cut out using the coordinating Time for Coffee Die Set and Love Bites Die Set. 

For her card base, she created a small slimline card base that is 6” x 3 1/2”. She used our Slimline Frames & Portholes Die Set to created the scallop edged background panel and trimmed off the ends so it would fit the smaller size. 

In the background she added a soft heart pattern using our Tumbling Hearts Stencil, and added brown ink speckles over the top, which go perfectly with the coffee theme.  The final touch is the birthday sentiment from the Time for Coffee Stamp Set, embossed in white on a black square. 

What a perfect birthday card for anyone who likes coffee!

Espresso Your Love Kitty Card by Tina Herbeck

Special Delivery!

Today Tina has created an adorable kitty card that is perfect for Valentine's Day! She started out by stamping the kitty from our Newton's Mug Stamp Set. She added hearts to the front of the mug using the hearts from the Love Emergency Stamp Set and the Smitten Kitten Stamp Set. Then she colored the image with copics, adding fun fur stripes on the kitty. So cute! The image was cut out using the coordinating Newton's Mug Die Set

Behind the kitty she created a pretty pattern of hearts using our Tumbling Hearts Stencil along with some Distress inks. She cut this out with our Framework Die Set to add the fun postage edge. The sentiment "Espresso your Love" is from our Love Cafe Stamp Set. 

Tina proves that any image can work for a Valentine's Day Card - just add some hearts!

Special Delivery Card Set by Tina Herbeck

Special Delivery!

Today Tina shares how to take a holiday set and stretch it forward to Valentine's Day! She used the cute little scottie dog holding a letter from our Canine Christmas Stamp Set and colored him with copics, using shades of white and pink for the letter and his sweater! She then created a gorgeous glittery heart background using our Tumbling Hearts Stencil with some glittery texture paste! The stenciled panel and the patterned paper panel behind it were both cut our using our Framework Die Set. To finish it off, she added the sentiment "special delivery" from our Newton's Happy Mail Stamp Set.

One in a Melon Card by Larissa Heskett

One in a Melon!!

Today we have a duo of melon themed projects by Larissa that will make you smile! She was inspired to create a fun melon background after seeing this watermelon project on instagram by kaydemonbren8. Kay had used our Raindrops Stencil over a pink background to make a watermelon pattern.  On her project Larissa used our Tumbling Hearts Stencil to create a fun watermelon background pattern where the seeds are black hearts over a pink inked background! She then added a stripe of green sparkle to represent the watermelon rind! So cute!


She used this background pattern on two projects along with the image of the bear eating a watermelon from our Woodland Picnic Stamp Set. She cut the bears out using the coordinating
Woodland Picnic Die Set so that she could layer them over the background. The finishing touch was the sentiment "You're one in a melon" from the Newton's Melon Stamp Set.

And here is the same pattern used on a tag for a little gift! She also used our Fancy Edges Tag Die Set to cut out the tag shape:

Find Your Happy Place Card by May Guest Designer Jeannean Marshall

Here's my nod to NND's mascot, Newton, at home enjoying his happy place. I also think this would be a great card to send to loved ones as a gentle reminder they are in our thoughts and if they had to change up their routine, home is a good place to be.

This cute stamp set is called Newton's Birdhouse. I wanted a clean and simple card without too much white space so the perfect compliment is adding a background with the purr-fect stencil Tumbling Hearts. I used Distress Oxides in Tattered Rose and (Worn Lipstick) but then switched to Aged Mahogany.

Besides making "Newton", I had a play at coloring up other types of kitties too! All cards are all colored the same, except for Newton's has red accents.







Here's the Copic marker colors I used: Orange Newton: YR27, YR23, Y21. Black and white kitty: W7, W5, W3, W00. Black & Orange Calico Tabby: W5, W3, W00, Y21, YR23, E51. Siamese Kitty: W7, W5, W3, E42, E40. The ears on all are E04, RV32. Wooden Birdhouse: E37, E35, 355, Y21. Blue birds: BG75, BG53, G000, Y21. Red accents:R59, R46, R17
