Larissa created a fun bat themed Halloween card.
For this card she stamped and colored the image of Newton dressed in a bat costume from our Batty Newton Stamp Set. She cut the image out using the coordinating Batty Newton Die Set and mounted it onto an oval that was cut out using our Oval Frames Die Set. She added some bats from the Batty Newton Stamp Set and the word "eek" from our Spiderweb Oval Stamp Set. She framed it with another oval using our Oval Frames Die Set with some purple paper to match the purple bat wings! So cute.

On the card base she added the bat filled patterned paper from our Halloween Meows Paper Pad.
What a fun way to send a spooky, yet sweet, Halloween greeting!

Happy Haunts Card by Amanda Bodine

Happy Haunts Card by Amanda Bodine | Spooky Street Stamp Set, Spooky Skeletons Stamp Set, Ghost Stencil and Hills & Grass Stencil by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook #handmade

A Fun Haunted Scene!

Don't be spooked by this fun Halloween scene! Amanda combined several of our Halloween products to create this spooky scene! For the background she used our Ghosts Stencil to create a sky full of ghostly haunts. Then she added a hill along the bottom using our Hills & Grass Stencil. Along the hill she stamped a series of gravestones and a big spooky tree from our Spooky Street Stamp Set. This makes the perfect setting for the fun kitty skeleton from our Spooky Skeletons Stamp Set! The kitty was stamped in black and cut out using the coordinating Spooky Skeletons Die Set. To finish the card, she added the "Happy Haunts" sentiment from the Spooky Street Stamp Set. All these fun products combine perfectly together to build this fun Halloween scene!

Thanks for the spooky card today, Amanda! To see more of her gorgeous coloring and projects, you can visit Amanda over at her blog,  RutabagaPie Designs! Make sure to say hello while you are there!

I cut a strip of cardstock in the same color and adhere it to the scored panel. I stamp the spooky frame from the Creepy Cameos Stamp Set and the spooky skeleton with Versafine ink and clear embossing powder. NND sponsors Cupcake Inspiration Challenge #429!

Have you heard of the Cupcake Inspirations Challenge? For each challenge they post a YUMMY cupcake photo and color combo for inspiration! Everybody likes cupcakes, right?

The current challenge going up today features the fun color combo of orange, green and brown!

Cupcake Inspiration Challenge #429

We're sponsoring this challenge so If you head over to their blog and play along you have a chance to win a $25 store credit to our store at newtonsnookdesigns.com! How awesome is that?

Of course I had to play along -- here's the card I created. Since the colors screamed Halloween to me, I decided to put together a Halloween card! I used the fun skeleton kitty and mouse from our Spooky Skeletons Stamp Set and embossed them using green and orange embossing powders. I trimmed them out using the coordinating Spooky Skeletons Die Set. I knew I had to add in some brown so I found a piece of dark brown cardstock and embossed the "Happy Halloween" Stamp set onto it with orange embossing powder. I created a watercolor splash in the background using orange and green distress inks on watercolor paper.

Now that I had something using all the colors I began to assemble the card. I added in a scrap of green polka dot paper cut out with the grass border from the Land Borders Die Set. I added it all onto the orange card base, along with a little piece of orange washi tape and some white twine to finish it off. This card is a little bit "out there" for me but I had fun making it! That's what makes challenges so fun! They get you to try things outside of your comfort zone!!

Trick or Treat Card by October Guest Designer Waleska Galindo

Hello Friends, Waleska here from craftinglovew with another Halloween card. (I told you I am a HUGE Halloween fan) I used our friend Newton in different costumes for a fun Trick or Treat scene.

Trick or Treat Card by October Guest Designer Waleska Galindo | Newton's Boo-tiful Night and Newton's Costume Party Stamp Sets by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook #halloween #handmade

CARD DETAILS:

For the background  of my card today I used oxide inks, and because they blend so well you can almost mix any colors beautifully.  My secret is to start with the lightest color so you don't contaminate your blending tools and get a smoother look, so I started with Spiced Marmalade Oxide Ink at the bottom and Seedless Preserves Oxide Ink for the up part.  In the middle where the two colors meet all you have to do is splash some water and it would look awesome!!! I traced and cut a hill, I sponge it with Peeled Paint Oxide Ink and adhere it to my card base to be the ground for my scene.

I glue the house silhouette and also the moon.  To  make the moon I sponge a circle die cut with Pumice Stone regular distress ink and splash some water with a distress sprayer.  To add more texture you can also sprayed  it with some shimmer.

I finally stamped and color the witch cat from the Newton´s Boo-tiful Night and the Newton from
Newton´s Costume Party and added the Mask so he can also be dressed up for Halloween.  I stamped 3 bats with Versafine Onyx Black ink for a more spooky feel and added the sentiment from the Spooky Skeletons set.

I love to mix sets to create cards and Newton's Nook stamps are great to do that!!! I hope you liked my card today!

Have a Spook-tacular Day!!

She is fabulous and creating cards with adorable scenes and fun bright colors and we can't wait to share what she creates with our stamps! Hello my name is Waleska Galindo. I live in the beautiful Guatemala City, Central America, I am probably the only stamper around here.  I have a wonderful husband and 2 full of energy kids. I have always loved art and making things with my hands.  I am a Graphic Designer that fell in love with cardmaking 3 years ago, I think I just enjoy the process of being creative, so when I discover the Cardmaking world just fit me perfectly.   I am a very passionate in all I do and stamping and cardmaking are not the exception.  I love making scene cards and using stamps in creative ways.

Besides cardmaking I am also a Fashion Designer, Movie lover and Stamp Collector... You can find me blogging at craftinglovew.blogspot.com but I mostly share my cards on my Instagram craftinglovew.
I am super excited to be a Guest Designer for Newton's Nook and I am truly thankful for the opportunity!! Specially for this Halloween Season which is my favorite.  That is me!!!

Hello Friends Waleska from craftinglovew here...
I am so excited to be Newton's Nook October Guest Designer thank you so much for inviting me. I first have to admit I am a Halloween lover so this past Newton release was just too awesome and perfect for me, I am using a lot of the new stamps and I am having so much fun with them.
Spooky Halloween Wishes by October Guest Designer Waleska Galindo | Spooky Skeletons and Creepy Cameo Stamp Sets by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook

CARD DETAILS:
For my first card I used almost all of the stamps from the Spooky Skeletons Stamp Set. I love to create little scenes on my cards, so the idea for this one was a very Spooky Halloween Decoration. I first stamped the skeletons in Onyx Black Versafine ink and put Black Sparkle embossing powder to have shinning Spooky Skeletons!!! I cut them and set them aside to make the background.

For the background I used Spiced Marmalade Oxide ink and some water splashes.  I also sponged the edges with Walnut Stain regular Distress Ink to give the card a more spooky feel. I stamped in the center of the card the amazing frame or mirror (you can use it for both) from the Creepy Cameos Stamp Set with Versafine Onyx ink and  also put Black Sparkle embossing powder to unify the sparkle vibe on my card.  I create the inside part of the frame by cutting an oval from gray cardstock.

I finally cut a strip of gray cardstock and sponge it with Walnut Stain Distress ink to create the shelf for all the Halloween Spooky Decor and raised all the images with 3D foam... What do you think? Creepy enough? I just wish I have this awesome skeletons to actually decor my living room like this...  I hope you like my card and get some inspiration to start creating halloween cards.

Have a Spooktacular Day!
