Happy Thanksgiving + Black Friday Sale Starts Now!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Jen here today (owner of Newton's Nook Designs with my husband Jeff) and we want to take a moment to wish everyone a wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday! We are hope you are spending our day today filling up on turkey and relaxing! This holiday season is a time to reflect and appreciate everything you are thankful for and we want to let you know that we are so thankful for YOU, all of our AMAZING customers and fans! 

In the spirit of gratitude, I'd like to share a couple of beautiful thank you cards I created. Both cards feature our Leaf Splendor Stamp Set and our Autumn Basics Paper Pad.

For the card above I colored the leaves from the Leaf Splendor Stamp Set using watercolor markers. I cut them out with the coordinating Leaf Splendor Die Set. For the card I cut the postage edged frame from white cardstock using our Framework Die Set. I added 4 squares of patterned paper chosen from our Autumn Basics Paper Pad and layered the leaves over the top. The sentiment was stamped along the bottom and a bit of twine finishes the simple layout. 

For the second card I again colored a leaf from the Leaf Splendor Stamp Set with watercolor markers and cut it out with the coordinating Leaf Splendor Die Set. This time created a fun patterned background using our Autumn Basics Paper Pad. I cut an A2 sized piece of copy paper and then added strips of scrap paper from the paper pad, cutting them at angles and randomly adhering them to the copy paper. I then cut the paper out using the stitched rectangle from our Basic Frames Die Set. I added a strip of vellum and a sheer ribbon across the center and layered the leaf over that. I also added the sentiment, stamped onto an oval cut using our Oval Frames Die Set. This whole panel was then framed with an orange postage edged frame that was cut out using our Framework Die Set.

Sunflower Card by Larissa Heskett

So Very Grateful

Today we are sharing a beautiful fall card by Larissa that is perfect for sending thoughts of gratitude.

For this card she features our Sunflower Days Stamp Set. She stamped the bundle of pretty sunflower blooms, embossing them in white. Then she added colors over the blooms and the stems, letting the colors smudge outside the lines for a soft glowy look! She also added blue ink around the image and then cut it out into a circle using our Circle Frames Die Set.

She layered two more circles behind the central image. The first circle was cut from a piece of yellow polka dotted paper from our Autumn Paper Pad.  The scallop edged circle was cut from brown paper and then she added distress ink to the edges to give it a worn look.  She also cut out the scallop edged rectangle using our Frames & Flags Die Set with a plaid paper from our Autumn Paper Pad.

Autumn Greetings Card by Zsofia Molnar

Autumn Greetings

Today we are celebrating fall with a gorgeous leaf themed card by Zsofia!

This beautiful card features our Leaf Splendor Stamp Set. This stamp set is filled with lovely leaves, perfect for sending fall greetings. Zsofia created the front panel of this card by embossing the leaves in a random pattern using gold embossing powder. She then added color inside of each of the leaves with watercolors. Once the leaves were colored she added black splatters all over the panel to give it a fun texture. She cut the panel out using our Framework Die Set to give it the fun postage edge. 

Next, she embossed 3 more oak leaves using gold embossed powder. Two of the leaves are on vellum paper and one is on brown cardstock. She cut the leaves out with the coordinating Leaf Splendor Die Set. She tied a bit of twine around them and added them to the center of her card. 

Under the leaves she added the "Autumn Greetings" Sentiment. This was embossed in white onto black cardstock and then trimmed out using the coordinating Leaf Splendor Die Set. A cool thing about the Leaf Splendor Die Set is that it also includes that fit with the sentiments in the set, making it easy to cut them out and layer them onto your card.  

What a beautiful card! This card is perfect for sending a greeting during the fall season!

Autumn Greetings Card by Larissa Heskett

Autumn Greetings 

Today we are sharing a beautiful fall card by Larissa!

For this card Larissa created a unique layered image using our Leaf Splendor Stamp Set. She started by cutting two scalloped circles using our Circle Frames Die Set. She cut one circle from white and for the second one she used plaid paper from our Autumn Woofs Paper Pad. 

On the plaid circle she die cut the maple leaf outline from the center using the Leaf Splendor Die Set. Then she stamped the maple leaf from the Leaf Splendor Stamp Set on the white circle. Before she stamped the image, she lined the two circles up together and stamped the leaf through the open die cut so she could be sure they would match up when she was finished. 

She colored the leaf in shades of yellow, adding texture with light orange dots. Then she layered the two circles together. This results in a gorgeous frame around the leaf!

For her base layer, she cut out a scalloped frame using orange polka dotted cardstock from our Autumn Basics Paper Pad with our Frames & Flags Die Set. She layered a white stitched panel on top of the frame, die cut using our Basic Frames Die Set. She added a bit of blue distress ink in the center along with some gold paint splatters. The sentiment along the bottom is also from our Leaf Splendor Stamp Set.

Autumn Greetings Card by Donna Idlet

Autumn Greetings!

According to the calendar it is offically Fall now and we are ready to get into autumn crafting! Today we are sharing a gorgeous card filled with autumn leaves by Donna.

This card features our Leaf Splendor Stamp Set. Donna watercolored some fall colored papers using distress stains and then she stamped all of the leaves onto the colored papers, embossing them in black. She die cut all of the images using the coordinating Leaf Splendor Die Set. 

For her card she used our Frames & Flags Die Set to cut a scalloped frame from dark brown cardstock. She also cut a lighter brown rectangle that fit just inside the frame edge and arranged all of her leaves onto the rectangle. She added a bit of white paint splatter as a finishing touch. Last, she embossed the "autumn Greetings" sentiment from the Leaf Splendor Stamp Set onto light brown cardstock and then cut it out using the coordinating Leaf Splendor Die Set. She layered this over her leaves with some foam adhesive.
