Shell-abrate!!

Today we are ready to "Shell-abrate" a with this adorable card by Naki! For this lovely card, Naki features the sweet turtle carrying a gift from our retiring In Slow Motion Stamp Set. She colors the cute turtle in soft watercolors. Then she fussy cuts the image out to add to her card. She cuts off the bow on the package but adds her own behind it using some thin sparkly string!

For the card background she creates a pink sky using distress inks and adds balloons behind the turtle using our Balloons Stencil and embossing paste. A bit of paint splatter adds to the fun celebratory feeling of this card!  She finishes it off with the sentiment embossed in gold! This card would be perfect for a fun birthday celebration!

Sothy Valentine's Day Shaker Card by Samantha Mann

Slothy Valentine's Day Shaker Card by Samantha Mann | In Slow Motion Stamp Set, Darling Hearts Die Set and Tropical Leaves Stencil by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook #handmade

Have a Sloth-some Valentine's Day!

Here is a fun take on a Valentine's Day card by Samantha! She has created a fun shaker card featuring the cute hanging sloth from our In Slow Motion Stamp Set. She colored the sloth and hand cut out the image. Then she nestled him inside a heart shaker shape that she cut out using our Darling Hearts Die Set. She shaker is filled with fun purple and white sequins and beads that go perfectly with the purple background. To create that fun Tropical background she used our Tropical Leaves Stencil in shades of purple! So lovely! To create that custom sentiment used creative masking and  combined the "have a sloth-some" phrase from the In Slow Motion Stamp Set with the "Happy Valentine's Day" phrase from the Love Bites Stamp Set. What a fun way to create your own sentiment!

We hope this project by Sam makes you smile today! To say hello to her and see more of her awesome creations you can visit Sam over on her blog, Sam's Scrap Candy!

Sloth-some birthday card by Ka!

Sloth-some Birthday Card by Ka!

Today we have a feature by our guest designer for February, Ka Slagoski. Check out this awesome sloth card and info below from Ka!

Hello and Happy Leap Day!

I am sharing this fun birthday card I made for my husband's birthday. Don't you just love this cute sloth and sentiment from the In Slow Motion stamp set? I absolutely love him and think he is the perfect critter for a masculine card.

Sloth birthday card by Ka Slagoski! In Slow Motion Stamp set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook

For this card, I wanted to create a tropical rain forest sunset scene with a mountainous silhouette behind the sloth and I think I achieved the look I was going for.

Sloth birthday card by Ka Slagoski! In Slow Motion Stamp set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook

I started out by creating a mountainous mask using a wavy metal dies and masking paper. I first blended the upper part of a white cardstock and then went back to blend the mountainous silhouette. While I waited for the background to dry, I stamped, colored and fussy cut the sloth out. I stamped the sentiment in Jet Black StazOn Ink onto a piece of acetate cardstock. I decided to create my own nature sequins mix using an assorted colors and sizes from Pretty Pink Posh. After arranging everything to its proper place, I assembled the shaker and adhered the entire shaker to an Olive card base.
