Merry Little Cocktails!

Celebrate the season with a merry little cocktail! Today Samantha has created an adorable holiday card featuring our Christmas Cocktails Stamp Set and Plaid Stencil Set. 

Samantha stamped all the cocktails from our Christmas Cocktails Stamp Set. Isn't it cute how they all have Christmas elements on the garnishes and stir sticks? She colored the glasses using alcohol markers in a soft rainbow of colors. 

For her card she masked off the bottom of the card and inked the top using pink and peach distress inks. Then she added the plaid pattern over the top using our Plaid Stencil Set. This stencil set has two pieces that you can overlap and ink with two colors for a two color plaid but on this card she used white paste on both of the layers and that has a beautiful effect too! 

She removed her masking tape and added the cocktail glasses along the bottom edge of the inked area using dimensional adhesives to pop them up. The finishing touch is the sentiment "have yourself a merry little cocktail." She embossed the message onto black cardstock with white embossign powder and fussy cut it out by hand before adding it to her card. 

We love the festive cheer this holiday card has! It would be perfect for an invite to a holiday happy hour too!

Stenciled Gift Bags by Ellen Haxelmans

Use Stencils to Dress up a Small Gift!

Want a way to make a small gift seem extra special? Ellen shares how you can dress up the packaging using stencils and die cuts! 

She started out by creating stenciling patterns onto two small flat gift bags. She created one with a cat birthday theme and one with a holiday theme. 

Let's look at the cat themed bag first: 

For this fun bag she used our  Plaid Stencil Set to add a fun teal and pink pattern. This stencil is two pieces and has etching each piece to help you align the pattern so it's easy to add two fun colors. Next she used the small tags from our new Frames & Tags Die Set to cut out two little tags from light pink and teal papers. She added the kitty face from our Pawprint Shaker Die Set and the word "wish" from our Balloon Shaker Die Set. So cute!

Next, let's look at the holiday version:

This time she used our Argyle Stencil Set to add a red and green argyle pattern to her bag. Again, this stencil is two pieces with etching and makes a quick and easy two color pattern. For the tags on this gift she again used our new Frames & Tags Die Set to cut out two little tags, this time from from red and green papers. Then she added the snowflake and word "joy" using from our Snow Globe Shaker Die Set. 

These cute little gift bags would be perfect for sharing a special cookie treat or little gift. We love how easy it is to create them for different occasions just by mixing up the patterns and colors!

Birthday Card with Layered Stencils by Zsofia Molnar

Stencil a Beautiful Birthday Card!

Today Zsofia has created a beautiful birthday card by layering several of our favorite stencils together! 

She started by using our Quatrefoil Stencil with a light gray ink. She added this pattern in opposite corners, lightly fading it to white on the edges. Then she used our Plaid Stencil Set and added that on the two remaining corners. For this one she used both layers of the 2 piece stencil, using teal ink with one layer and blue ink with the other layer. Again she did just a little stenciling in each corner and faded the edges. The last stencil she used was our Music Stencil, which she layered over the quatrefoil pattern. She used black ink with this pattern to help it pop. She also added subtle ink splatters for a bit of extra texture. What a gorgeous layering of patterns!

For the birthday message, she added a couple of sentiments from our Birthday Essentials Stamp Set. On the top she used the word "celebrate" and on the bottom she added the message "At least you're not as old as you will be next year" for a fun birthday greeting! A few shimmery rhinestone embellishments give the care a little bit of sparkle.

Merry Little Cocktails

Today we are getting ready to raise a glass and say cheers with this adorable holiday card by Ellen! 

For this festive card she featured two of the fun holiday drinks from our Christmas Cocktails Stamp Set. She colored the drinks in fun bright colors and used the coordinating Christmas Cocktails Die Set to cut the images out. 

For her card base she created a beautiful patterned background by layering colors using our Argyle Stencil Set and Plaid Stencil Set together. Since both of these stencils include two pieces, there are tons of options for creating patterns. She used both pieces from the Plaid Stencil Set, using blue ink on one layer and green on the other. Then she used just the stitched diamond layer from the  Argyle Stencil Set to add a gorgeous red glittery stitched pattern! So pretty!

She cut this panel into a square and layered it onto a square card base. Then she cut more decorative squares using our Frames Squared Die Set with kraft colored and vellum paper. 

The finishing touch is the sentiment, "Have yourself a Merry little Cocktail" from theChristmas Cocktails Stamp Set. She added this message,  embossed in white onto a banner that was cut out using our Frames & Flags Die Set.

Meow's the Time to Celebrate Card by Ellen Haxelmans

Kitty Birthday Card!

Today Ellen has created a fun kitty themed birthday card that is purr-fect for any cat lover! 

She stamped the image of the kitty on the giant cupcake from our Newton's Cupcake Stamp Set. She colored the image of the cupcake and some cherries in fun bright colors and added fun details to the fur and cupcake liner. She even added some glitter to the cupcake frosting to make it look extra yummy! She cut the images out using the coordinating Newton's Cupcake Die Set. She layered the images over a circle that was cut using our Circle Frames Die Set. She also added in the sentiments on banners, cut using our Banner Trio Die Set. 

For the background the used our Plaid Stencil Set to create a colorful pink and yellow plaid and framed the panel using a scalloped edge using our Frames & Flags Die Set.

Below we have some instructions from Ellen on how to create this card.

1. (left photo) First I colored the image from the Newton's Cupcake Stamp Set with copic markers:
   • Cupcake: R22, R32, RV21, RV00
   • Cupcake Wrapper: YR07, YR15, Y35, Y15
   • Hat: RV09, RV04, RV63, RV23 + BG15, BG11, BG10
   • Cherry: G19, G05, YG07, YG01 + R39, R37,R35
   • Cat: W07, W05, W04, W02, W01
2. (center photo) I did cut out the largest frame on the Frames & Flags Die Set and cut a circle out of colored velum using the Circle Frames Die Set. I used the Plaid Stencil Set to make a pattern. I only used one of the layers twice (with an other color) instead of 1 time.
   • Milled Lavender Distress Ink, Squeezed Lemonade Distress Ink, Picked Raspberry
3. (right photo) As last step I snipped the sentiment in two parts and stamped it on two banners with white embossing powder. The biggest is from the Banner Trio Die Set.

I am so happy to be back with you for another Guest Design creation for Newton's Nook Designs. Today, I am sharing the sweetest little lambs you have ever seen! I decided they needed to be a little unique so I gave them bright pink hooves and ears. I made a matching glittery pink background with one of my favorite stencils, the Plaid Stencil Set.
