Funny Farm Card

Today we are featuring a funny farm card by Amanda that is sure to make the recipient giggle!

To create this fun card, she started by creating a fun farm themed scene on the card front. She used our new Barn Die Set along with the trio of chickens from our Cluck Stamp Set. She colored the chickens using alcohol markers and then cut them out with the coordinating Cluck Die Set. Behind the chickens and barn she added stripes of patterned paper using our new Farmyard Paper Pad. The fun prints on this paper pad work perfectly with the farm theme. 

Then she added the sentiment "guess what?" above the papers.  You'll have to open up the card to see the rest of the message. Inside the card she finishes the thought with "chicken butt!" and an image of the back of a chicken, both from our Cluck Stamp Set. So funny!

Farm Animals with Glitter Cards by August Guest Designer Meghan Kennihan

A Personal Trainer and Run Coach who has a nasty craft habit on her “rest” day and loves all things crafty – especially card making and scrapbooking.
Her style is BRIGHT colors, pattern papers, CUTE, and whimsical creations. She loves her Copic markers, using Distress inks, die cuts, and stencils.

Hi Crafty Friends,
I am SO EXCITED to be a Guest Designer for Newton's Nook Designs this month! I adore Newton's Nook's stamps, stencils, and dies; so I am soooooo HAPPY to be sharing my favorites with you all month long! For my first post, I created two farm themed cards using the Moo and Cluck Stamp Sets. I decided all farms could use a little glam so I created glitter paste stenciled backgrounds.

Farm Themed Baby Card by Ellen Haxelmans

Welcome Little Boy!

Today Ellen has created a wonderful farm themed card to welcome a baby boy! For this card she features several of our farm themed sets together to create an adorable scene! For the farm friends she uses the pig from our Oink Stamp Set, the lamb from our Baa Stamp Set and the chick from our Cluck Stamp Set. She also uses the hay bale and barn from our Moo Stamp Set to set the scene. All the images were cut out with their coordinating die sets (find them all in our farm category). 

She used our Circle Frames Die Set to create the circle and scalloped circle that frames the scene. She also used our Cloudy Sky Stencil and Land Borders Die Set to complete the scene. 

To make this into a baby card she adds the sentiment "welcome little boy" by combining words from our Loveable Laundry Stamp Set. The word "welcome" was added to a banner that was cut out using our Banner Trio Die Set. Our Gingham Stencil on the background with yellow ink really adds to the sweet baby theme!

How to create this card:

Below we have some instructions from Ellen on how to create this card.

1. (left photo) Using Distress Ink and the Gingham Stencil I made the base of the card..
   
   
2. (center photo) I created a scene in the biggest frame from Circle Frames Die Set. I started with the grass and the hill. This was created with the Land Borders Die Set. I colored these borders with Distress Ink. For the sandy hill I also sprinkled brown, white and water splatters on top. The clouds were created with the Cloudy Sky Stencil and white glitter gel from Therm O Web.
   
   
3. (right photo) The last step was to color the images with Copic Markers and then assemble it all together.

Herd It's Your Birthday Card by Amanda Wilcox

A Herd of Birthday Wishes!

Today Amanda has combined all the fun farm animals in our farm category to create a fun slimline farm themed birthday card! 

To create her herd of animals she combined the horse from our Neigh Stamp Set, the chickens from our Cluck Stamp Set, the goat from our Bleat Stamp Set, the sheep from our Baa Stamp Set, the piggy from our Oink Stamp Set and the cow and barn from our Moo Stamp Set! How fun! She colored all the fun friends and cut them out using their coordinating die sets (find them all in the farm category). 

To set the scene, she cut a big long scalloped panel using our Slimline Frames & Portholes Die Set . Then she added grass with our Hills & Grass Stencil and a hill with our Land Borders Die Set.  The sentiment "herd it's your birthday" is from the Moo Stamp Set.

Design Team member Andrea Shell picked this stunning, floral card by Anna's Crafty Boutique. This card uses our Peony Blooms Stamp Set.

"Peony Blooms is one of my all-time favorite Newton's Nook Designs sets, and the gorgeous coloring by Anna really brings it to life!  I love the colors she chose and the arrangement she created with those beautiful flowers! The splatters and drops on her purple background are the perfect compliment to those fabulous blooms!"

Design Team member Samantha Mann picked this interactive, shadow card by Mary Reiner. This card uses our Newton's Book Club Stamp Set and Newton's Book Club Die Set.

"Newton's Book Club stamps and dies are one of my all-time favorites! I love the cats sleeping on the books, and around the books! And the cat with the glasses always cracks me up! The interactive element and surprise with this card is awesome! I love the deceptively simple front of the card! It makes the cute scene pop even more! So cute and so inspiring!"

Design Team member Larissa Heskett picked this fun (and funny!) interactive card by karens_kardzz. This card uses our Cluck Stamp Set and Cluck Die Set.

Chicken Birthday Card by Ellen Haxelmans

Chicken Birthday Card with a fun Folding Flap!

Today we are sharing a fun folding chicken themed card created by Ellen! She created a fun farmyard scene with a fold up thought bubble using our Speech Bubbles Die Set. She cut the speech bubble shape directly from the card front (see directions below). She colored bubble blue and embossed several sentiments onto using our the Cluck Stamp Set. Along the bottom of the card she created a cute scene using the chickens from the Cluck Stamp Set. She colored those cute chickens and cut them out using the coordinating Cluck Die Set. She also added some hay from the Moo Stamp Set for the chicken on the right to sit on! She completed the scene by adding layers of yellow grass cut out using our Land Borders Die Set.

When you lift up the flap, you see the "It's your Birthday" Sentiment from the Cluck Stamp Set inside the card. She also added in some little confetti bits using the Newton Celebrates Stamp Set and Newton's New Year Stamp Set

Tips on creating this card!
Below we have some tips from Ellen on how to create this card with the fun folding flap!

1.  (Above left photo) Tape your background paper and the front of the card. I used removable tape for this. You can cut the background paper and card base together. This ensures they match exactly. I used the Speech Bubbles Die Set for this. 
2. (Above center photo) Then it’s time to color the front. First I arranged the sentiments from the Cluck Stamp Set and stamped them with embossing powder. Afterwards I inked the panel with blue distress ink.
3. (Above right photo) The last step is to create the inside of the card. I started with die cutting a similar rectangle. As I did in the previous step I did embossed the text, but this time with gold embossing powder. After cutting the grass using the Land Borders Die Set. I colored all the pieces including the stamped illustrations. The last step was to place grass and critters on pop dots on the bottom of the panel.

What a fun and unique way to fold a card for an extra special effect!

What the Cluck? Chicken Card by Holly Endress

What the Cluck? 

If you can relate to this card you are probably glad it's finally Friday! Holly created this adorable and funny card using our Cluck Stamp Set. She stamped the trio of chickens and the chicken butt from the set in black and  colored them with neutral shades and pops of red. The images were cut out using the coordinating Cluck Die Set. For her card she layered fun farm themed papers, cutting them out using our Frames & Flags Die Set. Then to finish it out, she added the "what the cluck?" sentiment above the chickens in a bubble that was cut out using our Speech Bubbles Die Set. So funny and cute too!

Farm Birthday Card by Andrea Shell

Birthday Greetings from the Farmyard!

Need a funny Birthday card? Today Andrea created a birthday greeting that will make you giggle using our newest farm animal sets! She started out withe rooster and little chick from our Cluck Stamp Set, two cows from our Moo Stamp Set and the cute pig from our Oink Stamp Set! She colored all the images using copic markers and added little gel pen details on them! I especially love the colors on the rooster! Wow! Then she cut all those cute critters out using the coordinating Cluck Die Set, Moo Die Set and Oink Die Set. For her card she started out by creating a green to blue ombré in the background using distress inks. Then she added some woodgrain pattern to a piece of kraft cardstock using our Hardwood Stencil with brown ink and then she cute a fence out of it using our Fence Die Set! How cool! She finished the card off by stamping three sentiments, one from each stamp set and cut them out using bubbles from our Speech Bubbles Die Set. She placed one above each set of critters to create a very silly birthday card!

Farmyard Birthday Card by Zsofia Molnar

Farmyard Birthday Fun!  

Zsofia has been having a ton of fun mixing and matching the farm animals from our latest release! Today she created a super fun birthday scene packed with adorable farmyard friends! She set up the scene using our Fence Die Set across the middle of the card and created hills and grass along the bottom using our Land Borders Die Set. In the front of the fence you she added two cute pigs from our Oink Stamp Set and a cluster of three chickens from our Cluck Stamp Set.  She also added that cute rooster from our Cluck Stamp Set. Behind the fence you can spot a little barn and cute cow from our Moo Stamp Set! She colored all these cute farm animals with copic markers and cut them out using the coordinating Oink Die Set, Cluck Die Set and Moo Die Set. She also stamped some words for each set of animals from their stamp sets and cut them out into bubbles to put over their heads using our Speech Bubbles Die Set! What a great way to combine all those fun critters together! 

She also added some fun glossy accents on the animals for a special extra touch. Here's a couple of  close-ups so you can see the amazing details!
