Retiring Products Feature Week - Day 1 - Samantha & Maria

It's time to make room for new products so we are retiring select designs!

All week our design team will be sharing inspiration using some of their favorite products from our retiring list and we are starting the week out with projects today by Samantha and Maria!

Samantha created this adorable get well card using our retiring Spring Showers Stamp Set:

Samantha colored the image of the sweet ducky under an umbrella from the retiring Spring Showers Stamp Set. She fussy cut out the image by hand and then layered it over a gorgeous rainy blue sky. She added in some clouds (also stamped from the Spring Showers Stamp Set) and layered raindrops over the sky using our new Raindrops Stencil. This sweet card is sure to cheer up anyone who is under the weather!

Next, Maria has created two adorable summery cards using retiring stamp sets!

For her first card, Maria uses the cute grilling bear from the Winston's BBQ Stamp Set. She colored the image in fun bright colors, giving him a red apron to match the grill! She created a fun summer scene for him to grill in, adding grass in the front with our Land Borders Die Set and a fence behind him using our Fence Die Set. In the background layer she added hills and grass with ink using our Hills & Grass Stencil and clouds to the sky using our Clouds Stencil. She finishes the scene with a layer of clouds and a sunshine that were die cut using the new Sky Scene Builder Die Set! This cute scene would be perfect to send to a friend who likes to grill!

For her second card, Maria uses the cute trio of chickens from the retiring Chicken Scratches Stamp Set. This adorable hen and her chicks are perfect for sending a fun hello! She created a fun background with grass using our Hills & Grass Stencil and clouds using our Clouds Stencil masked into a circle with some die cut chicken wire. She also added that fun little rainbow using our Believe in Unicorns Stamp Set and Die Set into the sky!

Inky Paws Challenge #20 - SKETCH Challenge

 This fun card by Yuki features one the kitty from one of our favorite sets, Newton's Antics and the heartfelt sympathy words from the Simply Sentimental set. 

Here's a sweet spring card by Samantha using our Spring Showers stamp set! I love the vellum!

Kimberly turned the sketch sideways and used our cute new Delightful Doxies stamp set! So adorable!!

Stephanie created this cheery card using the flower pot from the new Garden Whimsy stamp set. 

I love the black and white color combo on this card by Larissa. She used our Beautiful Blossoms Stamp set. 

Here's one by me - I used our new Delightful Doxies stamp set.  I just love that cute pup with his butt being picked up by a balloon!

Under the Weather Card by Yukari Yoshioka

This little ducky will cheer you up! 

Today I'm sharing this adorable card by Yukari using our ducky from the Spring Showers mini stamp set. I LOVE the soft colors she used for this card with the yellow, purple and teal! I also love the big cloud across the top with the raindrop background and the polka-dotted umbrella! She used the "heard you were under the weather" sentiment - also from the Spring Showers set. This would be such a fun spring card to send someone who needs a bit of cheering up!

Isn't is super cute how she added all those gifts hanging on lines over his head from the Winston's Birthday and Holiday Wishes stamp sets? Dinosaur Thanks by Valerie Ward

Awesome Dinosaur Scene!

If this card by Valerie  doesn't make you smile, I don't know what will! To start off that Pink Dinosaur is just adorable!  I love how she combined four fun NND sets to create this little beach scene! Valerie combined the dinosaur and Palm tree images from the Prehistoric Pals set with the "thanks" banner, clouds and bird from Winged Wishes.  She also added in that cute crab from SEAson's Greetings and the fluffy clouds from Spring Showers! Whew! That's a lot of fun stamps together!

Under the weather by Samantha Mann!

Samantha Mann created this super fun get well card using our Spring Showers stamp set! She masked off the ducky, using just the umbrella. I love how she gave it a shiny handle that holds open that fun paper! And the paper pierced clouds are so cute! This would cheer up anyone who wasn't feeling well!

Creative Lady

Hi---I love making cards!  But first and foremost I am a wife, mother and mema.  My husband is a retired colonel from the U.S. Army, who served 30 years of service.  He is truly an amazing husband, father, and papa who is dedicated to his family and supports me in all of my endeavors.  I have a son, a daughter and three beautiful grandchildren, who are the loves of my life.

My travels have been vast as I was fortunate to live abroad and in multiple states around the Country.  The most interesting thing about traveling is seeing all the beauty that surrounds the World which has shaped my life and eye for creativity.

I have always loved crafting and I inherited that trait honestly because My mother was a home economics major in college. Growing up I always wanted to be in fashion shows, because she would make me new clothes.  She is truly a talented and inspirational artist.  She makes quilts and wearable art clothing, so this is why I give all the credit to her.

Moving forward, I love Scrapbooking--traditional and digital.  I love, love, love making cards, altered art, and photography.  I always strive to integrate my joys that I captured or created in my designs to share with others through blogging.  I just wish there were more hours in the day.

I'm so thrilled to be part of Newton's Nook Designs Guest Designer for June.

I’m Ria Montefalcon, a mom to KC and aunt to Abiel and Aidan. Philippines is my home country but I currently live in a small city yet my home for a couple of years now, Doha, Qatar. I’m a marketing professional by day and a crafter by night. I have loved arts and craft ever since I was a little girl, from a handmade card for grandma, stamping with coloring, to even sewing dresses for my little dolls.

I find my style clean and simple. Love to play with patterned papers, stamps and do try techniques I haven’t done before. I also love sewing so you will see some of my sewn crafts and needle works at my blog www.heartforhandmade.com. So happy to share my works with you all.

More Inky Paws Inspiration!

Have you had a chance to make a card for our latest Inky Paws Challenge?  Today I'm sharing some more inspiration for our latest challenge! Here'a a refresher of the challenge - use wood, cork, or metal - (or more than one if you'd like)!

Samantha Mann created this super fun beach scrapbook page for the challenge! Don't forget that your entry does not have to be a card - as long as you use NND stamps any fun project can be entered!

This layout has lots of fun WOOD texture in it! I love the fun background paper and the wood frame - I think that little bird might be a wood veneer too. 

Plus, Samantha used FOUR different NND stamp sets on this layout - can you spot them? There's the arrows from Around the House,  the "love U" sentiment from Love Grows, the duck and clouds from Spring Showers and the snow shovel and snow (made into a sand shovel and sand) from Frozen Friends. Guest Designer Kelly Santi created this super fun beach card using CORK for the challenge! I love how the cork works for this beach themed card! The crab, fish and boat are from the SEAson's Greetings set - LOVE how she used the holiday set for a NON-holiday card! Then she added on the "stuck on you Sentiment from the Around the House set! And a WOOD arrow! So fun!

Winston & Newton Birthday Cards!!

Two friends of mine had birthdays this weekend so I was able to put our two favorite birthday stamp sets - Winston's Birthday and  Newton's Birthday Bash to use! 

Winston celebrates 40! 

The first card was for a 40th birthday party for my friend Jacki! I used Winston - our bear  -  and the little cupcake image from our Winston's Birthday set. I colored them with copics and fussy cut them out. Then I added him to the card with some circles cut from patterned papers and a big "40" that I cut out with a Big Shot Sizzix die.

The "grin and bear it" sentiment is also from our Winston's Birthday set. I also embossed the yellow paper with a polka dot embossing folder and added some chevron washi tape and bakers twine! 

Purr-fect birthday wishes! 

For my second card - for my friend Lisa -  I used Newton squeezing the balloon from our Newton's Birthday Bash set. I stamped the image on white card stock and colored it with copics. Then I added some clouds with light blue ink (the one with the straight bottom is from our Winged Wishes set and the curvy bottom is from our Spring Showers set) 

Once I had the sky, I thought it might be fun to add some hills and make a complete scene. I cut some curves using a scissor and some green polka-dotted paper and sponged the edges lightly. I also added some fun washi tape and ribbon to bring in some extra color!

Get Well Soon!

Get Well Ducky Card!

Have you been having spring showers where you live? This cute little ducky stamp is ready for them with his fun umbrella and rain boots!  I used the images from our Spring Showers stamp set to create this adorable get well card.  I colored the duck and umbrella image with copics. Then I stamped blue clouds on a light blue cardstock to create the fun sky background across the top! Some fun bright striped washi helps finish it off! Hopefully this card would cheer up anyone who was feeling under the weather!

Get Well Kitty Card by Guest Designer Katie Brooks!

Sweet Kitty Card!

What a beautiful card by our Guest Designer, Katie Brooks! Katie used FOUR different NND sets to create this adorable little scene! She used the kitty from the Newton's Holiday Mischief set (masking out the lights), the little flower from the Basket of Wishes set, clouds from the Winged Wishes set and the "get well soon" from the new Spring Showers set! I love the bright cheerful colors that she used to create the sunny scene - and even a sun-shaped button! So adorable! This would definitely cheer anyone up!
