Mouse Themed Note Card by Tatiana Trafimovich

A Little Note...

Today we are sharing a sweet little note card created by Tatiana. This cute little scene filled with mice and flowers is perfect for sending a cheerful spring wish to a friend. 

She started out by stamping and coloring the duo of mice holding flowers from our Garden Mice Stamp Set. She colored the mice in neutral grays and then added bright pops of orange and purple for the big blooms. She also added highlights with a white gel pen for added detail. She cut the two images out using the coordinating Garden Mice Die Set. 

For her card, she created a fun background scene onto a white card base. She added green grass using our Hills & Grass Stencil along the bottom and then added blue ink for a sky along the top. She then added a few clouds into the sky using our Cloudy Sky Stencil with a bit of white pigment ink. This is such a fun and easy way to make a background scene. 

Next, she cut out the fun stitched frame using our Frames & Tags Die Set. She then arranged the frame over the background and tucked the mice into it on opposite sides. Isn't it cute how the mouse is peeking down from the top corner? She added the sentiment "just a little note..." from the Garden Mice Stamp Set, embossed in white onto a purple banner. She also added a few epoxy dots in orange and purple for a finishing detail. 

We love this layout! It's so fun how the scene peeks in from behind the frame!

So Mush Fun Card by Samantha Mann

So MUSH fun!

Today we are sharing a bright and cheerful mushroom themed card by Samantha!

To create this adorable card she combined the image of the gnome sitting on the mushroom from our Gnome Garden Stamp Set with a bunch of mushrooms and the sentiment from our Fabulous Fungus Stamp Set. She colored all the images in warm hues of red and yellow and die cut the images out using the coordinating Gnome Garden Die Set and Fabulous Fungus Die Set. She also added little highlights onto images using a white gel pen. 

Next, she added a beautiful sky onto her background panel using two of our scene building stencils. She started by adding blue inks to the light rays on our Sunscape Stencil. Then she used texture paste to create fun thick clouds using our Cloudy Sky Stencil. Doesn't that look incredible? She then added all the mushrooms and gnome image at the bottom edge of the stenciling to complete the scene. 

This card is perfect for sending fun wishes anytime of year!

Sky High Celebrations Card by Ellen Haxelmans

Celebrate!

Today we have a fun celebratory card by Ellen that is perfect for sending sky high smiles! 

For this fun card she features the image of the puppy and kitty floating into the sky with balloons from our Sky High Celebrations Stamp Set. She colored the image with fun bright colors and cut it out using the coordinating Sky High Celebrations Die Set. For the background she created a cloud filled sky using our Cloudy Sky Stencil with distress inks. She framed the scene with a bright green frame that was cut out using our Framework Die Set. She added another fun layer of pattern by using a ballon print from our Birthday Party Paper Pad. 

This fun and cheerful card would be perfect for a birthday or celebration any time of year!

Birthday Mouse Shaker Card by Amanda Wilcox

Birthday Mouse Shaker Card

Today we sharing a sky high birthday wish  on this shaker card by Amanda! 

This adorable card features the mouse soaring away with a balloon from our Birthday Mice Stamp Set. She colored the cute little mouse in neutral colors and gave him a bright yellow balloon. The image was cut out using the coordinating Birthday Mice Die Set. She then created a fun balloon shaker shape using our Balloon Shaker Die Set. She cut the balloon shape out of the lime green confetti paper from our Birthday Party Paper Pad and made a fun shaker filled with iridescent sequins. 

For her card base she used another print from our Birthday Party Paper Pad, this time orange party hats. Then she layered a panel of clouds over the top. The clouds were created using our Cloudy Sky Stencil with transfer gel and white flock. I bet they are so fuzzy to touch!  The postage edge on the panel was cut using our Framework Die Set. She also added the sentiment "Hip Hip Hooray" from the Birthday Oval stamp set, embossing it in white onto a black ticket shape (cut out using the Framework Die Set)

Halloween Inspiration Week - Day 3 - Zsofia & Samantha

This week Newton's Nook Designs is getting ready for Halloween with a fun Inspiration week! 

All week the NND Design Team will be sharing inspiration using some of their favorite Halloween products to get you in the mood for tricks and treats! Today we are featuring cute and spooky projects by Zsofia Molnar and Samantha VanArnhem.

 Zsofia created a fun framed art piece for Halloween! 

She created an adorable scene featuring the duo of pups from our Happy Howl-oween Stamp Set. She colored the pups in their Halloween costumes layered them in front of a landscape that was created using our Fence Die Set and Land Borders Die Set. She filled the sky with clouds using our Cloudy Sky Stencil and added a few bats using our Halloween Trio Die Set. She added the custom "Happy Halloween" sentiment using our Essential Alphabet Die Set. 

This piece is something that could be used as part of your Halloween decor every year! What a fabulous idea!

 Samantha created a fun Halloween card using jut one stamp set!

For this fun layout she stamped the gravestones from our Count Newton Stamp Set multiple times, coloring them in simple shades of grey. Then she lined them up in a fun grid pattern on her card. She also added bats into the background using a light grey ink. 

The sentiment stamped across the bottom finishes the fun and simple layout!

Baby Congratulations Card by Amanda Wilcox

Baby Laundry Card!

Today Amanda has created an adorable card to celebrate a new baby featuring several fun products together. The star of the show on her card is the adorable bear bib from our Bitty Bibs Stamp Set. She colored the image with fun bright pastels and gave the bear a shiny nose! Then she used the Baby Bibs Die Set and to add the fun scalloped edge behind the image and the bow! 

For her adorable card background she layered two stencils. First she used our Serene Stripes Stencil to add a layer of blue stripes. Then she layered fuzzy clouds over the top using our Cloudy Sky Stencil with some flocking! How fun! The whole patterned panel was cut out using the Frames & Flags Die Set to give it a scalloped edge. 

Then, she put all the pieces together and included a fun yellow frame around the bib that was cut out using our Framework Die Set. She used the same die set to cut the ticket shape that holds the sentiment.

Yee-haw Birthday Card by Samantha Mann

Saddle Up for Birthday Fun!

Yee-haw! Today we are saddling up for a fun birthday wish with Newton on this fun card by Samantha. For her card today, she features the kitty riding a toy horse from the Newton Rides West Stamp Set. She colored the image in fun vibrant colors, adding stripes the kitties fur and a fun rainbow of color the the horse mane! So cute!  She also stamped and colored three cactuses from the same set and the cut everything out using the coordinating Newton Rides West Die Set. 

For her scene she created an awesome sky using distress inks in shades of blue and then added clouds over the top using our Cloudy Sky Stencil. For the desert, she created layers of sand using our Sea Borders Die Set and Sky Borders Die Set for curvy stitched borders. Then she added distress inks in browns to the layers, along with paint splatters to make it look like he's kicking up the dust! 

A black bubble from our Speech Bubbles Die Set hold the "Yee-haw" sentiment and she also added "Saddle Up & celebrate," both from the Newton Rides West Stamp Set.

Farm Themed Baby Card by Ellen Haxelmans

Welcome Little Boy!

Today Ellen has created a wonderful farm themed card to welcome a baby boy! For this card she features several of our farm themed sets together to create an adorable scene! For the farm friends she uses the pig from our Oink Stamp Set, the lamb from our Baa Stamp Set and the chick from our Cluck Stamp Set. She also uses the hay bale and barn from our Moo Stamp Set to set the scene. All the images were cut out with their coordinating die sets (find them all in our farm category). 

She used our Circle Frames Die Set to create the circle and scalloped circle that frames the scene. She also used our Cloudy Sky Stencil and Land Borders Die Set to complete the scene. 

To make this into a baby card she adds the sentiment "welcome little boy" by combining words from our Loveable Laundry Stamp Set. The word "welcome" was added to a banner that was cut out using our Banner Trio Die Set. Our Gingham Stencil on the background with yellow ink really adds to the sweet baby theme!

How to create this card:

Below we have some instructions from Ellen on how to create this card.

1. (left photo) Using Distress Ink and the Gingham Stencil I made the base of the card..
   
   
2. (center photo) I created a scene in the biggest frame from Circle Frames Die Set. I started with the grass and the hill. This was created with the Land Borders Die Set. I colored these borders with Distress Ink. For the sandy hill I also sprinkled brown, white and water splatters on top. The clouds were created with the Cloudy Sky Stencil and white glitter gel from Therm O Web.
   
   
3. (right photo) The last step was to color the images with Copic Markers and then assemble it all together.

Newton's Nook Designs Sweet Treats Blog Hop!

It's our 7th Annual Sweet Treats Blog Hop!

The Newton's Nook Designs Team is hopping along today to share some great Sweet Treats - just in time for Valentines day! Make sure you scroll down to the bottom of this post to see the whole list and hop along and comment for a chance to win!

For my stop on the hop today,  I wanted to make something fun chocolate holders featuring the cute rescue vehicles from from our new Love Emergency Stamp Set. This set includes a fire truck, ambulance and police car with puns that are perfect for Valentine's Day! 

I started out by coloring the ambulance, fire truck and police car using copic markers. I then cut them out with the coordinating Love Emergency Die Set. I knew I wanted to use our Fancy Edges Tag Die Set to make treat holders so I cut out a tag for each vehicle. I decorated the tag to make it look like a street by adding a stripe of clouds using a piece of blue paper that was stenciled with our Cloudy Sky Stencil. Below the clouds I added a stripe of gray cardstock to look like a road. Then each tag was topped with a red scalloped edge. To create this I cut a border using one of the decorative border edges that is included in the Fancy Edges Tag Die Set. 

To make this tag into a treat holder I cut another white tag using the Fancy Edges Tag Die Set. Then I connected the decorated tag to the plain white one creating a hinge using a small piece of cardstock that was the same width (around 2 inches). I attached the hinge on the bottom to connect the two tags together and make a pocket. I placed the chocolates inside a little cello bag and adhered it inside the holder.

I also stamped the senimtments from the Love Emergency Stamp Set onto hearts that were cut out using the Heart Frames Die Set. I punched a hole in each heart and a black and white ribbon tied through both tags connects the tops together to hold it closed.

Sending Love 

Today we have a card by Tatiana that is perfect for Valentine's Day! This card features images from our adorable Love Owl-ways Stamp Set. To create the image of the owl with all the valentine goodies she combined several images. She started with the owl holding the balloon form the Love Owl-ways Stamp Set. Next, she added just the box of candy from the owl holding the candy from the same set, so that the one owl could hold both items! Then, to add more accessories she added the letters and bouquet of flowers from our Sending Hugs Stamp Set! This owl is truly laden down with love! She colored all the images with copic markers and cut them out using the coordinating Love Owl-ways Die Set and Sending Hugs Die Set. The tiny hearts in the sky are also from our Love Owl-ways Stamp Set. 

For the card base she created a sky filled with clouds using our Cloudy Sky Stencil with a crackle texture paste. Then she layered this over a white panel with a postage edge that was cut out using our Framework Die Set. The last piece was the custom sentiment, created by combing the word "sending" from the Sending Hugs Stamp Set with the die cut "love" cut out with our Darling Hearts Die Set.

Christmas Card and Gift Set by Ellen Haxelmans

Santa Coffee Card & Gift!
Today Ellen has created a beautiful holiday gift set with Santa and coffee themes!

First, she created an adorable christmas card featuring our new Dear Santa Stamp Set:

For this card she colored the image of Santa from the Dear Santa Stamp Set for the main image. She added in the north pole sign and little mouse from the Santa Paws Newton Stamp Set. The images were cut out using the coordinating Dear Santa Die Set and Santa Paws Newton Die Set to layer onto her card. For the background she used our Cloudy Sky Stencil with gritty white texture paste to create a cloudy sky over a blue inked background. To complete the scene she used our Land Borders Die Set and Sea Borders Die Set to create snow banks. The finishing touch is the sentiment "A Christmas Hello" from our A Kitten Christmas Stamp Set, embossed in gold onto a banner that was cut out with our Banner Trio Die Set. The red scalloped frame was cut out using our Frames & Flags Die Set. 

Next, she decorated a gift box with a coffee theme:

She again used a Santa image from our Dear Santa Stamp Set, coloring it and trimming it out with the coordinating Dear Santa Die Set. This time she layered the image over a fun coffee cup background that was created using our Mugs Stencil with distress inks. She also added in some peppermints from the Dear Santa Stamp Set and a coffee mug from the  Pumpkin Latte Stamp Set, colored to match the holiday theme. Again, she cut a banner using our Banner Trio Die Set and embossed the sentiment onto it. The sentiment "have a cup of cheer" is from our Cup of Cocoa Stamp Set. This whole panel was framed with a red scalloped edge using our Framework Die Set.

Doesn't it look yummy? Coffee and tea treats for someone sweet! She also added the die cut "Cheers!" from our Cocktail Mixer Die Set

Tips on creating this card

Below we have some tips from Ellen on how this card was created:

1. (left photo) First I colored the images from the Dear Santa Stamp Set and Santa Paws Newton Stamp Set with copic markers 
   
   
2. (center photo) I created the backgrounds for the two projects. On a rectangle I created a blue distress ink background. The mug background was created with the Mugs Stencil and darker ink. The cloudy background was created with grit texture paste and the Cloudy Sky Stencil. A stencil pal helps to apply the grit paste.
   
   
3. (right photo) I added the hills (made with the Land Borders Die Set and Sea Borders Die Set). Next I stamped the text in gold on a banner using gold embossing powder and a heat gun.
