Be Colorful!

Today we have a super sweet and simple card by Jennifer using our Beautiful Plumage stamp set! This stamp set has two large peacock images but Jennifer focused her card on just the sweet little peacock feather stamp that's included. It's easy to overlook those little stamps included on the sets sometimes so I LOVE this idea! She stamped the feather image twice and trimmed the images out with the coordinating Beautiful Plumage Die Set. She did some copic coloring on them  with green and blue and then added them to a card, layering them over an oval with the "Be Colorful" sentiment. The little bit of blue ink on the oval makes the whole thing pop of the card base and the sequins give the perfect finishing touch! What a lovely and simple card to make!

Pineapple Thank You Card by Samantha Mann

Pineapple Thank You!

Today we have this bright and cheerful pineapple card by Samantha! She used that adorable pineapple from our Pineapple Delight stamp set and inked it up with distress inks! She also used the coordinating Pineapple Delight Die Set to trim it out! She added it to her card with a fun blue distress ink background and layered the "thank you," also from the Pineapple Delight stamp set, embossed on black cardstock and trimmed out using the little banner from the Garden Window Die Set. The black and white polka dot washi tape she added up the side gives this card the perfect finishing detail!

Smile Card by October Guest Designer Karen Baker

It's Karen from The Bald Dragonfly here! I'm delighted to be back with my final card for Newton's Nook Designs as their October Guest Designer. I decided to create a bright, cheery card using the Flower Garden Stamp Set and the Garden Window Die Set.

I started by stamping the poppy image from the Flower Garden Stamp Set in gray ink repeatedly onto white cardstock. I them mounted the panel onto an aqua panel, opting to leave an unconventional border on just three sides.

I then die cut the word "smile" and a rose and yellow banner from the Garden Window Die Set and adhered these over the poppies. To finish off the card, I added a sprinkling of bright orange Nuvo Drops.

It was such a pleasure to guest design for Newton's Nook Designs and work with their amazing products! Thank you for having me!

Happy Birthday Card by October Guest Designer Karen Baker

It's Karen from The Bald Dragonfly here! I'm delighted to be back with my third card for Newton's Nook Designs as their October Guest Designer. You guys, the Garden Flower Series is amazing! There is so much you can do with Flower Garden Stamp Set, Garden Starter Stamp Set, and the Garden Window Die Set. I've used the last two products on my card today.

I started by masking and stamping the daisy image with black ink onto a white card base, focusing on the left side. I then stamped the same image onto a white card panel and then I inked the edges to "age" the paper. I then stamped the beautiful frame onto rust cardstock and die cut it out, and the sentiment onto white cardstock, this was also die cut. 

I assembled the shaker using some fall colored sequins and adhered the sentiment banner on top of the beautiful frame. I love how the flowers still take center stage and I didn't have to fuss with coloring them in!

I'm so excited to show you the card I have for next week use these same dies and stamp set, so please check back next Monday!

Flower Garden Card by October Guest Designer Karen Baker

Our October Guest Designer is so talented and so very sweet! Karen Baker will be joining us this month, and wowing us with her watercoloring and bright, happy cards! Check out her first amazing  project below and come back each Monday this month to see fresh inspiration from her!

I'm a graphic designer by trade and mama of two boys who spends weekdays at work and late evenings crafting. I'm drawn to the clean and simple style, yet like to dabble in shabby chic, elegant and fun and cute too! I really enjoy card making and home decor projects...anything that will stretch my boundaries, challenge me and make be a better designer is what I strive for! 

It's Karen from The Bald Dragonfly here! I'm really excited to be Newton Nook's Guest Designer for the month of October. I'm holding onto the last bit of warm weather with my almost one layer, clean and simple card today.

I stamped the beautiful foxglove flower image from Flower Garden onto white cardstock three times. I arranged the stamp so that I didn't have to do any masking! After the flowers were stamped, I completed the image by drawing a stem for the middle bunch of foxgloves. I colored the flowers in with markers, then did a dotted outline sky. I was drawn to these flowers as they are simple enough to make my coloring look effortless, but provide just the right amount of detail for such a pretty arrangement. I then die cut the beautiful "smile" greeting from the Garden Window Die three times in black cardstock, layering each on top of the other for a nice, dimensional sentiment. While the the sentiment was drying, I adhered three layers of washi together to ground the flowers. I finished the card by adhering the die cut sentiment.

Autumn Wishes Card by Yukari Yoshioka

Hedgehogs and Leaves for Autumn! 

Today we're sharing this adorable Fall card by Yukari. She used two of our newer Fall stamp sets: Hedgehog Hollow and Beautiful Leaves. I love how she used the leaves from the Beautiful Leaves stamp set to create a lovely Fall background, coloring them right on the kraft colored paper! Then did the same thing with that cute hedgehog hugging his acorn from the Hedgehog Hollow stamp set! The "Autumn Wishes" sentiment that she used is from the Beautiful Leaves stamp set. I love the way this all goes together so beautifully!

A Little Birdie Told Me Card by Samantha Mann

A little birdie told me...

...that this card by Samantha will make you smile!!

Samantha created this adorable birthday card using that cute kitty with the feathers in his mouth from the Newton's Birthday Flutter stamp set.  Do you think that naughty kitty just ate the bird, or do you think he got away? Either way this card is super fun! She fussy-cut out the kitty image and added it onto those pretty rolling hills and yellow sky! The red balloon floating away gives the perfect pop of color. The sentiment is also from the Newton's Birthday Flutter stamp set and was embossed on a little banner that she cut out using the Garden Window Die Set.

Rainbow Feathers!

Today we have some amazing creative die cutting with Jess! She created a this awesome rainbow card without using ANY stamp sets! Wow! She used two die sets to create this. the dotted frame and the word smile were cut using our  Garden Window Die Set  and the feathers we cut using our Points and Plumes Die Set. This is such a stunning card! The rainbow die cuts really pop off the classic black and white background!

Several of our Design Team Members decided to play along - check out all the awesome Summer cards they created! Read the description below each card to see who made it.

Naki created an awesome beach scene combining two or our Newton summer sets. The kitty in the hammock and tropical drink are from the new Aloha Newton stamp set and the kitty with the sandcastle and pail are from the Newton's Summer Vacation stamp set. 

Samantha created an awesome watercolor beach scene on her card. She used distress markers to ink up the palm tree  from our Paradise Palms stamp set and watercolored over the top! The "summer lovin'" sentiment is from the new Dog Days of Summer Stamp set. 

Stephanie created this awesome beach card! She used bright watercolors to color the kitty from the new Aloha Newton stamp set! She also added in the tiny die cut hibiscus and leaf from the Tiki Time stamp set! Such a perfect summery combo!  

What says summer more than a tiki drink? Jess used a whole crew of tiki faces  from our new Tiki Time stamp set across the bottom of her card! I love that pretty sky she put behind them! 

Larissa created some beautiful summer earrings using the Hibiscus die set and shrink plastic! What a fun idea! These turned out amazing! She created those cool backer cards for them using the frame from the Garden Starter stamp set! 

I had fun playing along this month too! I created a dog card using the pup and ice cream from our new Dog Days of Summer Stamp stamp set.  I made a simple card, just adding a sentiment and some washi and flags ups this side using paper scraps! I thought it needed a little bling so I added on a big button!
