Made from Scratch Card and Video by Tina Smith

Stir things Up!

Today we are excited to share the first post by our new Design Team member, Tina Smith! Tina is also a baker by trade so it's fitting that her first card features our Made From Scratch Stamp Set! She created a fun baking themed card by using a bunch of the images from this set and coloring them in lovely pink blue and green pastels with copic markers. Isn't it cute how she cut out three bowls to create a stack, cutting along the top of the bowl edge to layer them together!? She also used our Made From Scratch Die Set to cut out the images. 

Tina clustered all the baking goodies together to create a cozy kitchen scene. Then she added a polka dot pink background and a white table edge, adding the "Let's stir things up" sentiment, also from the Made From Scratch Stamp Set on the white bottom layer. She then framed the images using a scallop edged from die cut from our Framework Die Set.

Merry Everything Card by Tatiana Trafimovich

Merry Everything! 

Have you started on your Christmas cards yet? Today we have a gorgeous ornament card by Tatiana that will help put you in a holiday mood! She used our Ornamental Shaker Die Set to create a mask for the two ornament shapes. She layered our Snowfall Stencil over the mask and used deco foil transfer gel from Therm O Web on it. Once the gel was dry she add the blue flock by layering it over the top of the stenciled pattern and sending it through a heat laminator. This gives the ornaments a fun textured look and feels fuzzy too! She added the silver ornament tops, using glitter paper with our Ornamental Shaker Die Set. In the corner she added the "Merry Everything" sentiment from our Sentiments of the Season Stamp Set, embossed with silver embossing powder.

Hello! It’s Mindy from My Creative Scoop and I’m back my last card for the month! It’s been so much fun creating with Newton’s Nook Designs this month with you all. I’ve saved my favorite card for today – so I can really go out with a bang! ☺

One Wave at a Time Card by August Guest Designer Mindy Baxter

Hello! It’s Mindy from My Creative Scoop and I’m back with another card to share for Newton’s Nook Designs. Today I’m using the stamp set, Newton’s Perfect Wave. I colored him up with my Copic Markers and used my distress oxide inks to create the background.

Here are the color combos I used:

Newton – N0, N1, N3, N5, R32, R30

Surf Board and shorts – Y35, Y02, Y11, BG11, BG13

Distress Oxide Colors – Peacock Feathers, Dried Marigold and Squeezed Lemonade.

 

The white gel pen really adds the details for the wave breaking and adding all the bubbles.

Go Shorty Card by Tatiana Trafimovich

Go Shorty!! 

Don't you think Corgi butts are the cutest!? Today Tatiana created this fun card featuring the corgi butt image from our new Corgi Beach Stamp Set that will make you smile! She created a trio of corgis in a row, and added sunglasses onto each one. She cut the dogs and their sunglasses out using the coordinating Corgi Beach Die Set. Each pup is also added onto the card using an action wobbler so their butts wiggle!! How fun is that!? Behind each pup is a stitched circle that was cut out using our Frames Squared Die Set. The stripe of tropical leaves was created using our Tropical Leaves Stencil This card makes me smile every time I look at it! So adorable!

The Purr-fect Wave Card & Video by Maria Russell

Catch the Purr-fect wave!

Today Maria created this adorable beach scene featuring that cute girl kitty from our new Newton's Perfect Wave Stamp Set. She colored the kitty and her surfboard in fun bright pinks and blues and give her cute little freckles on her cheeks! She used our coordinating Newton's Perfect Wave Die Set to cut out the image. She created a fun beach scene for the the background and added in seagulls from our new Gull Friends Stamp Set, cutting them out using the coordinating Gull Friends Die Set. She also added in seashells using the little images from the Corgi Beach Stamp Set, also cutting them out with the coordinating Corgi Beach Die Set

It's Your Birthday Right Meow Card by Tatiana Trafimovich

It's Your Birthday Right MEOW!! 

This adorable card by Tatiana is perfect for sending a birthday greeting to a cat lover!  For this cute card she used the image the kitty floating in the sky with balloons from our Newton's Birthday Balloons Stamp Set. She colored the kitty in fun colors using Tombow Markers and trimmed the image out using the coordinating Newton's Birthday Balloons Die Set. For her card base she created an amazing sky full of clouds using our Cloudy Sky Stencil with white embossing paste over a gorgeous distress inked background.  She left space in the lower corner to add the "It's your Birthday Right Meow" Sentiment from the Newton's Birthday Balloons Stamp Set.

One Layer Scene with Garden Mice

Hello everybody and welcome.  I love the Garden Mice stamp set and what better scene to create than a garden?

I stamped and masked the images so that my little mice were front and center. I added some flowers in the background with the Dainty Daisies Stamp Set.

I colored the images and the background with my Copic markers and added a few details with a white gel pen. 

I finished off the card with the sentiment and a little sparkle and called it done!

Hi my name is Courtney. I live in Upstate New York with my 2 fur babies, Macey and Franky. I have been crafting for as long as I can remember but Card making has been my main focus for the last few years. My style is clean and simple but also love a good one layer scene. Repeat Stamping and Masking with Newton’s Movie Night

Hello everybody.  My name is Courtney Kreeber and I am thrilled to be guest designing for Newton’s Nook this month.  Today, I am sharing a project using the Newton’s Movie Night stamp set.

I stamped the image multiple times, masking as I went along, to create a movie theater type scene. 
I colored the images with Copic Markers and added a white heat embossed sentiment.

Last, I layered my little scene onto a black A2 size notecard and called it done.

Cats at the Movies Card and Video with Textured Popcorn by Tatiana Trafimovich

Movies, Popcorn, and Kitties! 

Who's going to the movies this weekend? Newton and his friends are headed out on this adorable card by Tatiana! For this adorable card she used the fun image of three kitties at the movie theater from our Newton's Movie Night Stamp Set. Isn't it so cute how she colored those kitties, especially the stripes on the kitty covering his eyes! She cut the image out using the coordinating Newton's Movie Night Die Set. Then she layered it over an amazing background filled with popcorn! The popcorn was created using our Popcorn Stencil. Scroll down to see a video by Tatiana on how she created this fun effect!

Happily Ever After Wedding Card by Tatiana Trafimovich

Happily Ever After!

Spring is the perfect time of year for weddings and it's always nice to have a wedding card on hand for those special occasions! Today we are sharing a simple and elegant wedding card by Tatiana! She created a gorgeous floral background for her card by stamping the big floral image from our Blooming Botanicals Stamp Set and embossing it in white. She watercoloring over it using purple and then she cut the image out into a stitched rectangle shape using our Frames & Flags Die Set. She added some lovely sequins around the image and stamped the sentiment "Happily Ever After" from our Wedding Frills Stamp Set onto vellum, embossing it in white. She layered this image over a white card base to give a simple and elegant look! How beautiful!

Welcome Spring Card with Video by Tatiana Trafimovich

Welcome Spring!

Who's ready for Spring! We are certainly hoping for warmer weather here soon! Until then, we can enjoy this lovely spring card by Tatiana! For her card today she featured the adorable little lamb from our Woodland Spring Stamp Set. She colored this cutie using copic markers, adding a fun dotted texture! Then she cut the image out using the coordinating Woodland Spring Die Set to add to her card. She mounted it on a circle and added the "Welcome Spring" sentiment above the image and added the lovely flower border image from the set below it!

For the card background she used our Bold Blooms Stencil with some embossing paste to create a fun floral texture!

Whooo Loves You Card & Video by Maria Russell

Whooo Loves You?!

Today we are sharing some more adorable owl inspiration with this sweet love card by Maria! She used our new Love Owl-Ways Stamp Set and colored three of the sweet owls from the set in shades of brown, adding in pink for the balloon, candy heart and love litter. Then she trimmed out the owls using the coordinating Love Owl-Ways Die Set. For her card she created a fun dreamy setting for the owls. She started with a heart embossed background, then added a scalloped edge stripe of paper with fun tints of pink and splatters of ink on it. For the scalloped edge she used our Sky Borders Die Set. Then she added in some fun white branches using our Pines & Holly Die Set. She also added in a gold arrow for the owl to sit on using an arrow from our Points & Plumes Die Set. So adorable! She finished the card off using the sentiment from the  Love Owl-Ways Stamp Set on the bottom.

Sweet Noel Card by Tatiana Trafimovich

Sweet Santa Deer!

This winter scene by Tatiana is so sweet and perfect for the holidays! She started out by coloring the duo of cute deer from our Deer Friend Stamp Set with copics. Her coloring is so lovely with the extra little dots for texture! She cut the deer out using the coordinating Deer Friend Die Set. The stamp set these deer are from is a Spring themed set so she gave the deer a holiday feel by coloring their noses red and adding hats onto their heads using the little Santa hat from the Ornamental Newton Stamp Set. How clever!

For her card she created a wintery scene by started with a blue inked background  and embossing the word noel in white from our Sentiments of the Season Stamp Set. Then she added snow around the sentiment with our Petite Snow Stencil and white embossing paste.  To complete the scene she added a die cut birch tree on each side and a red cardinal using our new Forest Scene Builder Die Set. She also added snowy hills for the deer to sit on using our Land Borders Die Set. Lastly, she tucked some little bits of greenery into the snow drifts using the little leafy plants from the Deer Friend Stamp Set.

Ear-resistable Bunny Card & Video by Maria Russell

Ear-resistable Bunnies!

This adorable card by Maria today will definitely make you say "Awwww"!  She created this sweet little scene with using those cute little bunnies from the new Bitty Bunnies Stamp Set. She colored them in pale gray with pink ears noses and cheeks and trimmed them out with the coordinating Bitty Bunnies Die Set. She did the same with the cute little flowers and butterflies from this set and then she added them onto her card along with a pretty leafy oval die (from another company). Isn't that sunset background so gorgeous too!?
