Zoo Party Shaker Card by January Guest Designer Tina Wilstrup

Today we have our first post from our first Guest Designer of the year, Tina Wilstrup! Tina's colorful designs  on instagram caught our eye with her amazing use of ink blending and coloring! We are excited to have her as a guest this month and we can't wait to see what she creates using NND products! We hope you will enjoy seeing her creations and that she will inspire you each week! Keep reading to find out more about her today and to check out her first project below!

Hi Newton's fans, my name is Tina and I am very honored and super excited to be guest designing this month. I'm a wife and mother of a beautiful girl and 2 doggies living in a small town in the Danish countryside. Although I've been crafting all of my life I've only been making cards for 4 years and I absolutely love it! I especially love the process of coloring the images, adding details and depth. I love using bright colors, and adding texture, layers and/or sparkle. My hope is to inspire you!

Hello everyone! My name is Tina and I’m so honored and super exited to be guest designing this month!

I thought I’d start the new year with a fun, bright, rainbow colored shaker card!

I’ve used the fun and adorable Zoo Party Stamp Set. I colored with Copics and each animal is colored with a new color family. I also colored in the background, as well as a bit of the centre.

I cut out the image with a rectangular die, stamped a sentiment and then fuzzy cut the centre out.

On a white panel of cardstock I measured out the placement of the centre and stamped another sentiment for the inside of the shaker.

I backed the front panel with acetate and then created the shaker using craft foam and rainbow colored sequins. I hope you like my inspiration.

Happy crafting!

Umbrella Shaker Tags by Nakaba Rager

Blue Skies Shaker Tags!

Today we are sharing a set of adorable shaker tags by Naki! She colored four of the fun critter shaped umbrellas using our Umbrella Pals Stamp Set. She stamped them in a light gray color and used watercolors to give them that lovely soft look! The images were all cut out using the coordinating Umbrella Pals Die Set.  Then she used the cute umbrellas to adorn some circle shaker tags. Inside each tag she added sequins and clouds that were cut out using our Winston Takes Flight Die Set. She also embossed the "forecast: blue skies ahead" sentiment onto the back of each tag using our Umbrella Pals Stamp Set with white embossing powder!

What a great way to dress up a gift!  Here's how cute these tags look when attached to a little plant:

Snowy Shaker Card

Snowy Shaker Card using Snow Day Stamp set by Newton's Nook Designs.

Bunny Snow Day!

Do you have Snow Days where you live? We live in Wisconsin and usually there is at least one "snow day" each year where we get too much snow and are all snowed in. Schools close, Malls close, and if you're lucky -  you get to stay home from work too! You literally can't get anywhere because it takes awhile for the snow plows to clean them up! I LOVE snow days - they are usually an unexpected day to stay in and watch movies or catch up on things at home - or just relax! I'm hoping to get one soon -- but so far it's just been COLD -- which means schools close but all the adults still have to go out!

I think this bunny in snowshoes from the Snow Day stamp set is one of my favorite stamps right now  —don't tell Newton! — but he's so much fun to color! I colored this bunny with copic markers, giving him bright teal shoes! Then I used him to make a fun little shaker card with some sequins, including a couple of snowflake-shaped ones. I used a teal card stock base and added some teal ribbon to coordinate with the sequin colors. I also added the "Snow Day" sentiment in a green circle to bring in a bit more green.

If you haven't tried to make a shaker card yet, I posted a tutorial a while back on this post: Prehistoric Pals Shaker Card Tutorial - make sure to check it out. They're so fun to make!
