Cheers to 2018 by Jennifer Jackson | Cocktail Mixer and Years of Cheers Stamp Sets and Starfield Stencil by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook

Happy New Year's Eve!

I hope that everyone had a wonderful Holiday! We are looking forward to an amazing New Year here at NND Headquarters! We are so grateful for all we have accomplished this year and we couldn't have done it with out you, our amazing fans! Thank you so much for all your interest and support of our company this year and we can't wait to see what 2018 brings!

Cheers to 2018 by Jennifer Jackson | Cocktail Mixer and Years of Cheers Stamp Sets and Starfield Stencil by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook

Today I wanted to share a fun card that I created to celebrate the new year! I know champagne glasses would be a bit more traditional but I couldn't resist using those cute martinis from our Cocktail Mixer Stamp Set. I colored two of them and trimmed them out with the coordinating Cocktail Mixer Die Set. I also wanted to use the "cheers" die that comes with that die set and I cut it out of some shiny silver paper. I decided to add on the date so I pulled out the Years of Cheers Stamp Set and added the "to 2018" using the numbers in that set. I layered the cheers over a vellum banner and the 2018 was stamped on a black banner. Both banners were cut out using the Frames & Flags Die Set. I created the sparkly background using our Starfield Stencil with some sparkly clear embossing paste. I added a strip of gold sparkly paper up the side to add a bit more bling too! Then the whole thing was mounted onto a black cardstock base!

We'll be back to our normal blogging schedule this week with fresh inspiration each week day! We hope you will continue to enjoy our creations in the coming year!

Happy 2018!

 Holiday Inspiration from Maria!

She also used our Frames & Flags Die Set to cut out the rounded corner stitched rectangle panel and the red scalloped card frame!

Next Maria created two yummy cards featuring our new Peppermint Die Set:

Advent Calendar Extravaganza with Taheerah Atchia | Santa Kitty card by Jennifer Jackson | Santa Paws Newton Stamp Set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook #handmade

I used inktense watercolor pencils and a water brush to color the image and then trimmed it out using the coordinating Santa Paws Newton Die Set. I also colored the little "north pole" image and cut that out. For the card background I used a piece of Kraft colored cardstock and added white snowflakes with embossing paste over our Snowfall Stencil. I love the look of kraft and white together. Then I created a little scene on the bottom by adding a white stitched hill for snow using the Land Borders Die Set. I layered some washi tape and a little strip of red checkered paper along the bottom. For the sentiment, I stamped the Here comes Santa Paws" sentiment from the Santa Paws Newton Stamp Set onto a strip of black cardstock, embossing it in white. For my card I cut out assembled several mints using the new Peppermint Die Set. I used red and white cardstock for the mint and vellum for the side wrappers! Then I added three of the mints onto a stitched rectangle panel that I cut out using our Frames & Flags Die Set. I stamped the fun peppermint themed sentiment onto this panel from the Newton's Candy Cane Stamp Set. For the background I created that a festive pattern using white embossing paste on green cardstock with our Holiday Foliage Stencil.  I also added a cute little scalloped border using the scalloped edge from the Sky Borders Die Set. These products all work so well together!

Deck the Halls with Inky Paws Blog Hop! | Santa Kitty card by Jennifer Jackson | Santa Paws Newton Stamp Set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook

For this card I stamped Newton dressed as Santa with his giant bag of gifts and colored it using colored pencils. I don't color with pencils that often but every time I do I wonder why not!? It's so much fun to layer in the colors with pencils and I love how you can give details like the stripes I added to the kitty! After the image was colored I cut out the kitty and using the coordinating Santa Paws Newton Die Set. I also cut out a snowy hill using the Land Borders Die Set and stamped the "Here comes Santa Paws" sentiment from the Santa Paws Newton Stamp Set onto the hill. For the snowy sky added snowflakes to the blue sky with white embossing paste on our Snowfall Stencil

In case you haven't met Newton yet...

Deck the Halls with Inky Paws Week - Day 4 - Michelle Short

Deck the Halls with Inky Paws - Newton's Nook Designs

Welcome to day FOUR of our Deck the Halls with Inky Paws week!

Each day this week we will have a new awesome featured guest and then a BIG blog hop on Friday, December 8th (with some give-aways, of course!) So make sure you come back and visit us every day!

Today's Featured guest is
Michelle Short

Hello there, my name is Michelle I live in London, UK. I am a part-time nurse, part-time crafter. I have been crafting for over 10 years now and I still absolutely love it! My style is very clean and simple. I love colouring, cute critters and white space on my cards, but I have been getting a little bit more inky recently and really been enjoying that too. I love Newton’s Nook designs and I am delighted to be taking part in the Deck the Halls with Inky Paws week.

Here's what Michelle created!

Deck the Halls with Inky Paws Week - Day 4 - Michelle Short | Snowfall Stencil and Sentiments of the Season Stamp Set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook

Michelle created two amazing sparkly snow cards featuring our Snowfall Stencil with the Sentiments of the Season Stamp Set! For the first card she created a background using shades of blue distress ink with the Snowfall Stencil. Then she kept the stencil in place and layered transparent glitter paste over the top! The added sparkle really makes this card feel special! To finish it off she stamp the sentiment "May your holidays sparkle with joy and happiness!" from the Sentiments of the Season Stamp Set. That sentiment goes so perfectly with the sparkle on the card!

Deck the Halls with Inky Paws Week - Day 4 - Michelle Short | Snowfall Stencil and Sentiments of the Season Stamp Set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook

She also created this same layout using a pink/orange/yellow color combo!

Deck the Halls with Inky Paws Week - Day 4 - Michelle Short | Snowfall Stencil and Sentiments of the Season Stamp Set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook

It's so fun to mix it up just by changing the colors! Both color combos are so pretty I can't decide which one I like better! How about you?
