Deck the Halls with Inky Paws Blog Hop! | Peppermint card by Jennifer Jackson | Peppermint die set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook

For my card I cut out assembled several mints using the new Peppermint Die Set. I used red and white cardstock for the mint and vellum for the side wrappers! Then I added three of the mints onto a stitched rectangle panel that I cut out using our Frames & Flags Die Set. I stamped the fun peppermint themed sentiment onto this panel from the Newton's Candy Cane Stamp Set. For the background I created that a festive pattern using white embossing paste on green cardstock with our Holiday Foliage Stencil.  I also added a cute little scalloped border using the scalloped edge from the Sky Borders Die Set. These products all work so well together!

And since it wouldn't be a blog hop without featuring Newton, I thought I'd share another card today. This one uses our Santa Paws Newton Stamp Set:

Deck the Halls with Inky Paws Blog Hop! | Santa Kitty card by Jennifer Jackson | Santa Paws Newton Stamp Set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook

For this card I stamped Newton dressed as Santa with his giant bag of gifts and colored it using colored pencils. I don't color with pencils that often but every time I do I wonder why not!? It's so much fun to layer in the colors with pencils and I love how you can give details like the stripes I added to the kitty! After the image was colored I cut out the kitty and using the coordinating Santa Paws Newton Die Set. I also cut out a snowy hill using the Land Borders Die Set and stamped the "Here comes Santa Paws" sentiment from the Santa Paws Newton Stamp Set onto the hill. For the snowy sky added snowflakes to the blue sky with white embossing paste on our Snowfall Stencil

In case you haven't met Newton yet...
Here's one a snapshot of him. Isn't he handsome?
He loves to distract (I mean help) me while I'm working! LOL!
