Merci Meow Card by Tatiana Trafimovich

Merci Meow Card by Tatiana Trafimovich | Newton Dreams of Paris Stamp Set, Frames & Flags Die Set, Land Borders Die Set, and Pawprint Shaker Die Set by Newton's Nook

Merci Meow!

Today we are sharing a card by Tatiana that is sure to brighten your day! This adorable kitty thank you card features Newton in the hot air balloon from our Newton Dreams of Paris Stamp Set. She stamped this sweet image and colored the hot air balloon in a rainbow of pretty colors using copic markers. For her card today, she fussy cut the image out by hand, but if you don't like to hand cut you could use the coordinating Newton Dreams of Paris Die Set

For the rectangle behind the kitty she created an ombré blue sky using distress inks. Then she cut out the stitched rectangle using our Frames & Flags Die Set. She also cut it again several times using our Land Borders Die Set to added the curved stitches. Then she carefully re-assembled the pieces together to make that fun sky!

For the sentiment, she stamped the word "merci" from the Newton Dreams of Paris Stamp Set, embossing it in white. Then she added the word "meow" below it, die cutting it out using our Pawprint Shaker Die Set on glittery white paper.  A few iridescent sequins add the perfect finishing touch.!

Here is a close-up so you can see all the amazing details:

In This Together Card by April Guest Designer Jennifer Hartsgrove

Today we have our first post by our April Guest Designer, Jennifer Hartsgrove! Jennifer caught our eye with her adorable creations on Instagram and we are thrilled to have her as a guest this month! We can't wait to to see what she creates! We hope you will enjoy seeing her new creations on our blog each Monday this month! Keep reading to find out more about her today and to check out her first project below!

Hi Krafty Friends, I'm Jen from Katahdin Krafts. My krafty korner of the world is in northern Maine, where I live with my very tolerant husband, three active homeschooled children, two naughty dogs, two spit fire cats and a very stubborn house pig! So I officially reside in a funny farm! My passion for art and crafting began at a young age and led me to earn my BFA. I concentrated in photography which was an easy stepping stone into paper crafting. I am honored to have the opportunity to be a guest designer for Newton's Nook Designs for the month of April. What a great opportunity from a fabulous company, thank you so much for having me!

Blog: Katahdinkrafts.com

Facebook: Katahdin Krafts
Hello Krafty Friends, Jen here from Katahdin Krafts. I have the honor of being April’s Guest Designer for Newton’s Nook Designs! I have been a Newton’s fan for quite sometime, often working with their products.

For this project I was inspired by our global events and wanted to showcase unity for our hurting world. What better way then Newton’s Dreams of Traveling Stamp Sets! We truly are all in this together, whether we are on the front lines, staying home, or delivering lunches, we are all trying our best. I’ve often stated how crafting is my therapy, well we all need some sort of mental outlet now, stay healthy everyone.

On this card I used the Netwon Dreams of Italy, Newton Dreams of Paris, Newton Dreams of New York, and Newton Dreams of London stamp sets. I stamped them out using copic friendly ink. Then colored them with the following color palette:
  • Newton’s Fur – Y35, Y38, YR15 and YR16. His ears are R20.
  • London Newton – B24, B28, and R27.
  • Paris Newton – B24, B28, R14, R17, R27, T0, and T1.
  • NYC Newton – R14, R17, T0, and T1.
  • Italy Newton – G3, G5, R14, R27, C00, and C1.
  • Empire State Building – N0, N2, and N4.
  • Big Ben – E51, E53, E55, and E57.
  • Brooklyn Bridge – N2, N4, and N5.
  • Leaning Tower of Pisa – W1, W3, and W4.
  • Eiffel Tower – C1, C3, C5, E31, and E34.
  • Cloud – C00, C0, and C1.

Next, I used Lawn Fawn’s Foursquare Backdrop to cut a panel for my card. I then inked up the four sections with Distress Oxide Inks. For the sky I used Tumbled Glass, Shaded Lilac and Tattered Rose. Then I used Mowed Lawn for the grass.

I then used the Newton’s Nook Designs Clouds Stencil to add some interest in the sky areas.

For my card base I cut a piece of Chili Red Classic Cardstock to 8.5″ x 5.5″ and scored it at the 4.24″ mark line, to create an A2 sized card. I used a liquid glue to adhere the frame from the backdrop die to the card base, and popped the inked sections back in place.

Then it was time to assemble my card, I really love how it turned out! I had this concept in mind for a couple of weeks, and it was exciting to see it come to life.

I've also created a video showing you how I created this card:

Don't forget to subscribe to the Newton's Nook Designs YouTube Channel to see more great videos!

Thanks again to Newton’s Nook Designs for this awesome opportunity!

Until we meet again Krafty Friends, stay safe and keep krafting!

Never Stop Dreaming! Kitty in hot air balloon card by Andrea Shell | Newton Dreams of Paris Stamp Set and Clouds and Hills & Grass Stencils by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook #handmade

Just a Little Note!

This sweet hot air ballon card by Andrea is sure to uplift your day! She created this card using image of the kitty in the hot air balloon from our Newton Dreams of Paris Stamp Set. She colored the image in cheerful bright colors using copic markers. She cut the image out using the Newton Dreams of Paris Die Set. She added the image onto a wobbler before adding it to her card so that it sways back in forth in the sky! (scroll down to the end of this post to see a little video)

For the sky, she used our Clouds Stencil to create layers of clouds in different pastel colors! So pretty! She also used our Hills & Grass Stencil to ink a hill along the bottom and stamped the sentiment onto the hill from our Cosmic Newton Stamp Set. The whole background panel was cut out using the scallop edged die from our Frames & Flags Die Set.

Merci Card by April Guest Designer Candice Fisher

I can’t believe it is week three already!  We are in full Spring here and I am dreaming of Paris with Newton!
I can just image how awesome it is in Paris right now and will live through Newton as he travels there in this bright card!
Merci Card by April Guest Designer Candice Fisher | Newton Dreams of Paris Stamp Set and Bokeh Stencil Set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook #handmade
Of course to create this fun scene I used the Newton Dreams of Paris Stamp Set. I started by using my cameo to create the three rectangles and then ran it through my die cutting machine to get the stitched frame.  For the background, I trimmed some watercolor paper to fit behind the frame and inked with squeezed lemonade, tumbled glass, and broken china. I then took the circle stencil #1 from the Bokeh Stencil Set and added white ink over for a faint circle impression. I lined up the Eiffel tower and stamped with versafine black ink and added a green stitched hill.
Merci Card by April Guest Designer Candice Fisher | Newton Dreams of Paris Stamp Set and Bokeh Stencil Set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook #handmade
I stamped the Paris Newtons, hot air balloon, and clouds, colored with copic markers, and fussy cut out, but you can get the coordinating dies to make your life easier! To create the scene, I added a die cut sun that I inked with squeezed lemonade to the top left. I lined up the frame and stamped the merci directly onto the frame and then pop dotted on the card base. Next, I added the cuties in Paris, gluing and pop dotting to get them secure.

For my embellishments, I added a variety of different sequins and added some white pen dots to the images.
I hope you can each dream of your city that you would love to be in, or if you have any of the Newton's travel stamp sets share your creations on Newton's Nook Design Facebook page!
And you can always check out and join for your chance to win in the Inky Paws Challenge!
I’m off to now dream about England, or maybe Italy…

Just a Little Note Card by April Guest Designer Candice Fisher

Today we have our first post from our April Guest Designer, Candice Fisher from Candi Cards! We adore Candi's gorgeous coloring and adorable scene building and we are delighted to feature her creations on our blog this month! Keep reading to find out more about her today and to check out her first project below!

Hi! My name is Candice Fisher and I live in Minnesota with my family. I have tried almost all crafty hobbies over the years, but these days you will find me making cards most of the time! My favorite “go to’s” are stamp sets with great sentiments, stitched dies, word dies, and copic markers. You will see me add sparkle to all my projects! I wanted to thank Newton’s Nook Designs for inviting me to share with you this April! My blog is Candi Cards and you can find me on Instagram as Candicards

Happy Monday morning to you!
I am so excited to be sharing my creations with you this month of April using the amazingly adorable products from Newton's Nook Designs as a guest designer!
For my first card I chose to use the soo cute Garden Mice Stamp Set, I can’t get over how adorable they are!  They are also a perfect size to use by themselves or to use them all on a card.
I couldn’t just pick one, so I went with a design that allowed me to use three of these cuties!
Just a Little Note Card by April Guest Designer Candice Fisher | Garden Mice Stamp Set and Framework Die Set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook #handmadeI started my card by creating the front frame using the smaller stamp die from the Framework Die Set using thick white cardstock and trimming it to fit a little smaller on my card base. I then used the same smaller stamp die on watercolor paper and inked each section with oxide inks: scattered straw, tumbled glass, spun sugar, and twisted citron. I tend to use watercolor paper for my oxide ink blending, I find I get a much smoother blend.

Just a Little Note Card by April Guest Designer Candice Fisher | Garden Mice Stamp Set and Framework Die Set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook #handmade

I stamped all the images from the Garden Mice Stamp Set & Newton Dreams of Paris Stamp Set , colored with copic markers, and fussy cut out, but you can get the coordinating dies to save you the time!  I also stamped the sentiments, one directly on the frame (laying it all out so I knew where to place it) and one on a banner.

Just a Little Note Card by April Guest Designer Candice Fisher | Garden Mice Stamp Set and Framework Die Set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook #handmade

To put it all together, I pop dotted the frame first, then I glued the inked pieces inside.  Next, I pop dotted the adorable mice in each section and added a few white pen accents. The clouds I varied in height for depth and added some white sequins for a little shine!
I thank you for stopping by and look forward to sharing with you throughout the month!
You can also join in on the current Inky Paws Challenge for chance to win!

Le Meow Card with February Guest Designer Valliam

Hello all! It’s already Valentines week! :) I'm back again with another Valentine's Day card. I made this cute love scene card using Newton Dreams of Paris Stamp Set. This is such a fun set with lots of adorable and sweet images.

Le Meow Card with February Guest Designer Valliam | Newton Dreams of Paris Stamp Set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook #handmade

For this card, I stamped and colored the Eiffel tower, hot air balloons, the cute Newton and his girlfriend using distress inks. To add little shine, I heat embossed the tower using clear embossing powder. Then, I cut the images using their coordinating dies from Newton Dreams of Paris Die Set. Next, I used the stitched rectangle die from Frames & Flag Die Set to create a focal panel and picked a white card stock as the base card. To create the sky background, I cut a piece of white card stock using Sky Borders Die Set and inked the background with Salty Ocean and Mustard Seed distress inks. I did the same for the base card but used only Salty Ocean distress ink.

Le Meow Card with February Guest Designer Valliam | Newton Dreams of Paris Stamp Set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook #handmade

Then, I framed the scene by adhering the images. It was the fun part of making this card. I stamped the sentiment directly onto the sky panel and added tiny heart above Newton. Finally, I mounted the entire focal panel onto a the base card using foam tape. I had so much fun coloring the images on this set and love how sweet this card turned out!

Thanks again for stopping by! Happy Valentine's Day!! Love you all to the max! Have a great week with your loved ones. See you all on next Monday with another card.

Hugs! :)
