Shiny Deer Tags for the 25 Days of Christmas Tags!

Today we are excited to be part of the 9th Annual 25 Days of Christmas Tags with Tracey McNeely. Today is only Day 3 of this awesome feature so make sure you visit her blog each day to see all 25 days! Today she's featuring the Newton's Nook Design Team on her blog so make sure you head over there to see some more beautiful tags using NND products!

I created a fun set of deer themed tags to play along! Here's what I created:

I started out by using our Gingham Stencil to make a buffalo check background. I used white texture paste with the stencil on a black cardstock panel. Once that was dry I cut the two tag shapes out using our Fancy Edges Tag Die Set. This die set is super fun because it includes little mini border dies that you can use to make custom tag shapes. For the tag on the left I made it a little longer to make room for the tall deer shape, I just cut my paper the same width as the tag and then used the little decorate scalloped border. I also used the Fancy Edges Tag Die Set to created the little red tag reinforcement shape around the hole.

For the sentiments, I embossed the "merry & bright" and "joy to the world" from our Ornamental Wishes Stamp Set. Then I cut out the two deer shapes using gold paper with our Splendid Stags Die Set. For the finishing touch I added some white bakers twine through the center of the tags and soem red ribbon on the top!

I really love the shiny gold deer paired with that background! It has such a fun woodsy yet festive feeling and would really dress up some Holiday gifts!

Spring Hello Card by Naki Rager

Hello Spring! 

Do you have Spring weather where you live yet? Today Naki created this lovely spring themed card in hopes of bring some Spring cheer! She used the adorable floral wreath image from our Happy Little Thoughts Stamp Set to create a lovely frame for a shaker window. Isn't it cool how she cut it out from the white square with the coordinating Happy Little Thoughts Die Set and then set it back into the die cut area? What a fun look! She colored the flowers in bright spring colors and then she cut out a white deer using our Splendid Stags Die Set to go inside the window. She added that cute little trio of pretty flowers onto the deer from our Happy Little Thoughts Stamp Set and added in the "hello" sentiment from the Fanciful Florals Stamp Set, embossed in gold. She added this whole fun shaker frame layered over some pretty spring prints and a lace border! What a gorgeous creation!

Winter Sky Card by Samantha Mann

Spectacular Winter Sky!

Today we are sharing a gorgeous winter sky card by Samantha! She created this amazing card using our Splendid Stags Die Set. She cut the deer head out using the die but instead of using the die cut shape she took the negative shape and used it as a stencil! She applied white embossing paste over it to get a dimensional deer head on her card. Then she added layers of watercolor over the top to create that amazing sky! She splattered on some white paint and sequins for the stars. To finish it off she stamped "Happy Holidays" from the Holiday Smooches Stamp Set and embossed it in white over strip of black cardstock! This card is so striking and pretty! Such a unique idea for a Holiday card!

Egg Hunting Season Layout by Samantha Mann

Let's go on an egg Hunt!!

I love it when Designers on our team come up with unique ways to combine our products that I never would have though of! Today's layout by Samantha is the perfect example of this! She used the fun eggs from our Beautiful Spring stamp set and and combined them with the antlers from our Splendid Stags die set to create an "EGG HUNT" scrapbook page!! This is such a fun idea and unique way to combine these products! The rainbow of colors she used on the eggs is so fun and beautiful against the white page too! What a wonderful way to remember a fun day!

Merry Christmas Wreath and Stag Card by Naki Rager

Merry Christmas in (almost) all white!

Have you ever tried making a monochromatic Christmas card? This beautiful (alsmost) all white card by Naki is so elegant!  I love how she used the deer head from our  Splendid Stags Die Set and cut it out in white and kraft paper, layering it to show just a little bit of the kraft color! It almost looks like a shadow! She added the deer to the center of a wreath, stamped in brown from our Happy Little Thoughts stamp set and trimmed out with the coordinating Happy Little Thoughts Die Set. she also used the "merry Christmas" sentiment from our new Holiday Tweets stamp set, embossed in gold on vellum! The added little wooden stars and tiny metallic twine really add the perfect finishing touch!

Happy Winter card by Crafty Math-Chick

Happy Winter Stag with Plaid!

Today we are sharing a gorgeous winter card by Crafty Math-Chick! She used that lovely deer die cut from our Splendid Stags die set, cutting him out of red to layer over some pretty red plaid paper! For the base of the card she used a forest green paper and stamped snowflakes all over from the Fox Hollow stamp set. She also added the "Happy Winter" sentiment from the Fox Hollow stamp set. Wouldn't this be a great masculine card too? So fun!

Several of our Design Team Members decided to play along - check out all the awesome burlap and lace cards they created! Read the description below each card to see who made it.

Naki created an awesome pumpkin card using burlap and lace with our Pick-a-Pumpkin stamp set and Pick-a-Pumpkin Die Set! Such a perfect look for Fall! 

This simplicity on this card by Samantha is so lovely! She used burlap and a lace doily along with the butterflies from the Beautiful Wings stamp set and coordinating Beautiful Wings die set. 

Kimberly created this awesome Autumn card using our new Beautiful Leaves stamp set and coordinating Beautiful Leaves die set! I love the burlap leaf that she cut out with the oak leaf die! 

Crafty Math-Chick used burlap as a fun background for the die cut deer shape from our Splendid Stags Die Set. Then she added the "Happy Birthday" from the new Raccoon Rascals stamp set. What a great masculine birthday card! 

Of course I had to play along too! I used the images from the Beautiful Leaves stamp set and embossed them on kraft colored paper in gold, white and brown. Then I trimmed them out with coordinating Beautiful Leaves die set. The tag was cut out using our Tags Times Two Die Set.  I added some burlap behind the tag and a strip of lace too!

Happy Birthday Deer Card by Stephanie Muzzulin

Masculine Birthday Card

Do you find it hard to make masculine birthday cards? I think this card today by Stephanie would be the perfect guy-friendly birthday greeting! She used the deer head from our Splendid Stags Die Set and die cut out several deer and layered them to get a nice thick embellishment. Then she stamped the "happy birthday" from our Simply Sentimental stamp set underneath! This word stamp set is such an essential set to have because you can use the big words and mix and match them with all the little words to create custom sentiments for all occasions! 

I love the way she kept the rest of the card simple, just layering some pattern papers and adding a bit of rustic ribbon and a staple! Such a fun, classy card!

Christmas in July! 

Today we are sharing beautiful Holiday card by Lydia! She die cut the deer silhouette using the Splendid Stags Die Set and the added him over a wreath created with images from the Happy Little Thoughts stamp set! I love how versatile these sets can be! Then she added on the "Happy Holidays" sentiment from the Holiday Smooches stamp set. What a gorgeous Holiday card and these would be pretty simple to create too if you need to make a bunch!

Happy Anniversary Card by Larissa Heskett

Such a "DEER" couple

I am in love with this beautiful anniversary card today by Larissa! She created and adorable deer couple using our new Splendid Stags  die set. The stag is included in the die set but to make a doe she just flipped the image over after she cut out a stag and trimmed off the antlers! What an amazing idea to stretch your products! She then added the couple to the card with a pretty layered wreath images stamped from our Happy Little Thoughts stamp set and cut out with the coordinating Happy Little Thoughts Die Set.  To finish it off she used the Happy Anniversary sentiment  from our Simply Sentimental stamp set  nd the "to a special couple" from the Holiday Smooches stamp set.

Adventure is Waiting Masculine card by Danielle Pandeline

Deer + Plaid = Awesome Adventure Card! 

Today we have an awesome Masculine card by Danielle using our new Splendid Stags die set!  I love how she die cut the stag from kraft paper and then layered it over plaid! What a fun masculine look! She added on the "Adventure is Waiting" sentiment from our new Adventure Awaits stamp set, embossed in gold on kraft paper. I love how she attached the layers together with staples - it really adds to the masculine feel. Sometimes ribbon on masculine cards seems too girly so I love this idea!

Our guest designer, Naki played along with the challenge this month! She used the stag from the Splendid Stags die set and added on a hat  rom the In Slow Motion stamp set to make it a birthday stag! Then she added the wreath from the new Happy Little Thoughts stamp set and arrows cut out with the new Points & Plumes die set. 

Kimberly created this awesome card by cutting out four arrows with our new Points & Plumes die set through the front of her card. The color you see is from the inside of the card! So fun! The sentiment is from the Adventure Awaits stamp set. 

Samantha created an awesome arrow scrapbook page! I love how she cut out the arrows from the Points & Plumes die set and wrapped a bit of string around them! Super fun! 

Yuki created an awesome arrow background using that fun little strip of arrows from our new Adventure Awaits stamp set.  The sentiment is also from the Adventure Awaits stamp set and those sweet feathers are from the Points & Plumes die set. 

Jess always finds creative ways to use rainbows! I love how she created rainbow deer using our new Splendid Stags die set and added on a rainbow of arrows from the Adventure Awaits stamp set! Such a fun colorful card! 

Danielle created a fun colorful background with distress inks! I love how she stamped all the arrows and feathers from the Adventure Awaits stamp set right through the center! Such a fun and unique layout!

Lydia created this gorgeous glittery card! I love the gold "dipped" feathers she created using our new Points & Plumes die set. She also used the feather image and sentiment with the arrow from the Adventure Awaits stamp set.

Stephanie found the perfect arrow paper to create her card! She used the fun papers to frame the sentiment from the Adventure Awaits stamp set. Then she finished it off with the die cut arrow from the Points & Plumes die set. 

Larissa created this amazing arrow card! I love how she die cut out all the arrows using the Points & Plumes die set and layered them over a fun watercolor background! The sentiment is from the Adventure Awaits stamp set.

And lastly, I had fun playing along too! I used the Points & Plumes die set to cut out some arrows. I also used the negative of the die cut to make a fufun strips. Then I added on the sentiment from the Adventure Awaits stamp set onto a tag. The tag was cut out using the Tags Times Two die set.

Do What You Love Card by Yukari Yoshioka

Sparkling Stag! 

Wow! What an elegant sparkly card today by Yukari using our new products! She stamped the fun gold wreath and the "do what you love" sentiment from our new Happy Little Thoughts stamp set. Then she added on that gorgeous die-cut stag using our new Splendid Stags purr-fect die set.  I absolutely adore these two products together. The wreath is the perfect backdrop for the stag! And the shimmery gold paper makes such an elegant card! The added sequin bling on the wreath and the dark floral background paper give it the perfect finishing touch!
