A Very Merry Cat Christmas Card by Zsofia Molnar

A Very Merry Kitty Christmas!!

Today Zsofia has created a fun cat themed holiday card featuring images from two of our favorite cat themed holiday stamp sets together!

She started out by stamping the cat wearing a winter scarf from our Newton's Holiday Mischief Stamp Set and the kitty peeking from behind the snowman from our Newton's Curious Christmas Stamp Set. She colored the kitties in neutral colors and added pops of oranges, teals and greens to the winter accessories! She cut both images out using the coordinating Newton's Holiday Mischief Die Set and Newton's Curious Christmas Die Set.

Since both of the images have a winter theme, she created a winter holiday scene for her card.  She filled the background with trees using our Evergreens Stencil with green ink and then layered sparkly snow on top using our Petite Snow Stencil with glittery texture paste. So pretty! She added a snowy hill shape along the bottom of her card, cutting it out using our Land Borders Die Set. Then she layered the images of the kitties on top of the snowy hill to complete the scene. For the sentiment she cut out a red ticket shape using our Framework Die Set and added the phrase "Wishing you a Very Merry Christmas," stamped from our Bells & Holly Stamp Set and embossed in white.

Thankful For Friends Like You Card by Tina Herbeck

Fall Friendship Card

Today Tina has created a gorgeous fall friendship card featuring our favorite kitty surrounded by fall leaves! 

For this amazing card she started with the image of the kitty wearing a scarf from our Newton's Holiday Mischief Stamp Set. She colored the kitty, adding cute gray stripes to the fur and giving him a cute two toned blue scarf. The image was cut out using the coordinating Newton's Holiday Mischief Die Set.

Then, for the background she cut out a bunch of leaves using our Autumn Leaves Die Set. She added shades of fall colors to them using distress inks to get those gorgeous fall colors. Then she added them to a white card base, placing them all around the edges of the card. She added a bunch of paint splatters too. This makes it feel like the leaves are dancing in the wind, doesn't it? She added the kitty to the center of the card and stamped the sentiment from the Fall Friends Stamp Set above his head. So lovely!

Isn't it neat how she used the image of the kitty from a Christmas themed stamp set to create a fall themed card!? Don't forget to look at your stamp sets to see if you have any images you can stretch into other occasions!

Cold Weather Friendship Card by Zsofia Molnar

Cold Weather Friends!  

Today Zsofia created this adorable card featuring kitties who are cold weather friends! She started by combing kitties from two sets. The kitty wearing the scarf is from our Newton's Holiday Mischief Stamp Set and the kitty peeking from behind the snowman is from our Newton's Curious Christmas Stamp Set. Don't they go so purr-fectly together!? She colored both the kitties using copic markers and cut them out using the coordinating Newton's Holiday Mischief Die Set and Newton's Curious Christmas Die Set.  She added them to her card using our Land Borders Die Set to make a snow hill and layering some snowy background paper behind them. The added the sentiment about cold weather from our Fireside Friends Stamp Set.  To finish it off she framed the whole scene with a red postage edged frame from our Framework Die Set.

Here's a close up - don't you love the added glossy effects on the snowman's nose and the little buttons she added too?

25 Days of Christmas Tags

Today we are excited to be part of the 8th Annual 25 Days of Christmas Tags with Tracey McNeely. Today is only Day 5 of this awesome feature so make sure you visit her blog each day to see all 25 days! Today she's featuring the Newton's Nook Design Team on her blog so make sure you head over there to see some more beautiful tags using NND products!

I created TWO fun sets of tags to play along!
Here is the first set:

For this fun duo of tags I featured the cute images from our  Newton's Holiday Mischief Stamp Set. This is the first Christmas Set we created featuring Newton and I haven't played with it in awhile so it was really fun to pull it out and color the images again! I colored the kitties using copic markers and added a bit of Wink of Stella glitter to them. Then I cut them out using the coordinating Newton's Holiday Mischief Die Set. Aren't they so cute!?

For the tag shapes I used our Fancy Edges Tag Die Set to cut out the fun layered tags. This die set is super fun because it includes little mini borders that you can use to make custom tag shapes. I used the big and little scallops to create layers that dress up the tags. Then I finished out the tags by adding die cut words along the bottom using our new Holiday Greetings Die Set.

I had so much fun mixing old and new products to create these tags!

For my second set of tags I created a duo of Ornament Shaped Tags:

For these tags I used our new Ornament Shaker Die Set to die cut out the ornament shapes from red and green patterned papers to create fun little shakers. I also used our double sided adhesive foam and acetate sheets to cut out the dimensional border and clear front for the shakers. 

Inside the shaker shapes there are sentiments that are embossed using images from our Ornamental Wishes Stamp Set. This set was designed to work with the Ornament Shaker Die Set so all of the sentiments in the set will fit inside the ornament shape! Inside each shaker there are some little die cut confetti tree and star shapes that were cut out using the confetti dies from Ornament Shaker Die Set and a few sparkly sequins too.

I finished off the shakers by adding a little round tag tied to the top. This tag was cut out using our Tags Times Two Die Set and the "to" and "from" are stamped from the Joyful Tags Stamp Set.

Custom Holiday Envelopes by Tatiana Trafimovich

Make the Envelope Special!

After you've spent al that time making the perfect holiday card, don't forget to make the envelope special too! Today Tatiana is sharing a trio of fun custom envelopes she created featuring our Newton's Happy Mail Stamp Set. She created her own envelopes using Bristol paper and then stamped the Kitty in the mailbox from the Newton's Happy Mail Stamp Set on the front. She used some creative masking to add on the snow shovel in front of the mailbox from our Frozen Friends Stamp Set. She also masked the corner of the cats head to add a Santa hat onto him using the hat from the Newton's Holiday Mischief Stamp Set.  Isn't it fun how a little creative masking can turn any set into a Holiday one!? The holly on the mailbox is also from the Newton's Holiday Mischief Stamp Set. So cute!

Once the images were all masked and stamped, she used zig clean color watercolor markers to color them. For the first one she added several colors but she also created a version using just grey and red and one that's completely black and white! Depending on how much time you have, you could keep them really simple!

First is the adorable duo of card by Yuki! She used our Newton's Holiday Mischief stamp set and created two cards with the same layout but different colors and images! This would be a fun way to create a set of cards to give as a gift! What a creative idea!

Crafty Math-Chick used one of our favorite sets, Newton's Holiday Mischief. She created a door front for her card and featured the kitty hanging from the wreath on the door! What a cute idea! She fussy cut out the kitty on this card but we do have a coordinating die for this set too if you don't like to cut by hand! 

Have a whaley great christmas with this fun card by Samantha. She used the cute whale and sentiment from the SEAson's Greetings stamp set! This set is filled with fun sea creatures and puns that are just right for unique Christmas cards!

Banner Decoration by September Guest Designer Ellen Hax

Happy Monday! I'd like to introduce our guest designer for the month of September - Ellen Hax! 

Ellen is going to wow you this month with her incredible coloring skills! We have been a fan of her work for some time and can't wait to share her projects using Newton's Nook Designs stamps! Check out her first amazing  project below and come back each Monday this month to see fresh inspiration from her! 

Hello Newton-lovers!! I'm Ellen and super excited to be the next guest for Newton's Nook Design!! I'm 25 and at the point of many changes in my life (1st job, learn to drive, thinking about buying a house,...). Of course I love be creative in my spare time. This hobby started when I received a copic marker box that I got as Christmas present from my boyfriend two years ago. Probably he regret the present, because I'm seriously addicted to it now! hihi!!

It's time to show you my first project. Next to cards I also love to make other paper projects. Below I show you step by step how I made a paper banner for a friend. 

1. First cut a banner and use alpha stickers to spell a name, word,...

2. Than use a mini flag banner and make a small whole in a paper straw. You can sew your own banner or buy it like I did. Make a knot at the outside or use washi tape to stick the flag banner on the straw.
3. The most fun part is coloring of course. I used a kitty from the Newton's Holiday Mischief and from the Newton Unwinds stamp set.

4. The last step is to glue things down; I used a glue gun for it.

Isn't it perfect to decorate your craft room or use as a cake topper? I had so much fun with it and I really hope this was inspiring!! See you next Monday.

This shaker card using our Newton's Christmas Cuddles stamp set by Kate is so fun! We love how she added all the gold snowflakes and stripes too! What a ton of yummy sparkle!

Christmas Kitty tag by Nina-Marie Trapani

Sweet Shaker Tag!

Today we're sharing this adorable shaker tag by Nina-Marie! Wouldn't this tag be so adorable to dress up a special holiday gift? She used two fun Holiday stamp sets on this! The kitty is from our  Newton's Holiday Mischief stamp set and she combined it with the sweet little row of stockings from the Holiday Wishes stamp set! I love how when you combine these sets the stockings look tiny behind the kitty! I love that she made this scene into a shaker too! I would be so tickled to see this on my gift for the holidays!!
