Just Wing It! Butterfly Card by Samantha Mann

Just Wing It!

Samantha is enjoying playing with our Monarchs Stamp Set and has created another amazing card to share today!

To create this gorgeous card she started by using our Tropical Leaves Stencil transfer gel on a dark blue cardstock background. Then she applied three colors of flock to create fun fuzzy leaves. She then used our
Essential Alphabet Die Set to cut out the words "Just Wing It" from the background panel and mounted it onto a white card base so the white showed through behind the letter cut outs! Stunning!

Next, she used our Monarchs Stamp Set and ctamped three butterflies. She colored their wings with reds, pinks and yellows and added white paint splatters. Then she cut the butterflies out using the coordinating Monarchs Die Set. She used the same die set again, this time cutting the shapes out with vellum. She then used her sewing machine to stitch the vellum wings over the stamped butterflies.

Here are some close-ups so you can see all the amazing details:

Spread Your Wings Card by Amanda Wilcox | Monarchs Stamp Set, Butterflies Stencil Set, Heartfelt Butterflies Stamp Set and Banner Trio Die Set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook #handmade

Spread Your Wings!

Today we are sharing a gorgeous butterfly card created by Amanda that uses several of our butterfly themed products!

First, Amanda created a gorgeous background filled with butterflies using our Butterflies Stencil Set. This stencil set includes two pieces, one with the bold butterfly silhouettes and one with the wing patterns. For her project she inked a soft rainbow background. Then she inked the stencil with the bold butterflies using colors that matched the rainbow background. To finish the background she used the stencil with the wing patterns and added glitter paste. So pretty!

To add more butterflies to her card Amanda used our Monarchs Stamp Set, stamping the images in colors that matched the background. She used the coordinating Monarchs Die Set. For the sentiment she used "spread your wings" from our Heartfelt Butterflies Stamp Set. She embossed the sentiment in white onto a black banner that was die cut using our Banner Trio Die Set.

Today Samantha is fluttering by with a gorgeous butterfly themed card!

For her card base, she created a beautiful blue background, again using watercolors. She created a bit blue wash and then added lots of splatters in blue and white! She added the background to her card, adding some striped washi tape peeking out from the sides. Then she layered her butterflies on top, adhering them so their wings could be popped up. The final touch is the sentiment, stamped from the Monarchs Stamp Set. She embossed the words in white on two black banners and added them to the center of the card.

A Butterfly Hello by Samantha Mann

A Butterfly Hello by Samantha Mann | Butterflies Stencil Set, Monarchs Stamp Set and Banner Trio Die Set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook

A Butterfly Hello!

There are so many fun things you can do with our stencils and today Samantha is sharing a fun technique on this beautiful butterfly card!

For this gorgeous card she used our Butterflies Stencil Set. This is a two piece stencil set and she used layer one (which has the butterfly silhouettes) and pressed Versamark ink over the stencil. Then she embossed the silhouettes in silver.

Next, she used the second layer from the Butterflies Stencil Set (with the butterfly wing details) and used deco foil transfer gel to add rainbow foil over the top. Some of the silver embossing from the first layer melted when she used the heat laminator to apply the foil but the effect is still super cool!

Once she was finished with the amazing background she embossed some butterflies from our Monarchs Stamp Set using white embossing powder onto vellum. She cut the butterflies out using the coordinating Monarchs Die Set. Aren't they beautiful!? She also added the sentiment "A Happy Hello" from our Heartfelt Butterflies Stamp Set, embossing it onto a vellum banner that was die cut using our Banner Trio Die Set

She created this lovely card by using stamping the bouquet of daisies from our Dainty Daisies Stamp Set twice. She colored the florals with soft pinks and yellow centers and used the coordinating Dainty Daisies Die Set to cut them out. Behind the flowers she added a soft gray woodgrain background by using our Hardwood Stencil with gray ink. She also added a few butterfly silhouettes using our Monarchs Stamp Set. The sentiment was stamped from our Heartfelt Essentials Stamp Set. The Heartfelt Essentials Stamp Set is filled with sentiments that are perfect for sending caring thoughts. Butterfly Mug Card by Amanda Wilcox

Butterfly Mug with Kitty Card by Amanda Wilcox | Newton's Mug Stamp Set, Monarchs Stamp Set, Mugs Stencil, Framework Die Set and Banner Trio Die Set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook

Decorate a Custom Mug!

Today Amanda shares how she combined two stamp sets to create a gorgeous butterfly mug! She started out with the image of the kitty in a mug from our Newton's Mug Stamp Set. This image has a big blank mug, designed to stamp sentiments on the front, but it also works great to stamp a custom image on it too! Amanda masked off the edges of the mug and then used the pretty butterfly from our Monarchs Stamp Set to decorate the front! So gorgeous! She colored the mug and kitty and cut the image out using the coordinating Newton's Mug Die Set

For her card, she used dies from our Framework Die Set and Frames & Flags Die Set to create a frame. Behind the frame she used our Mugs Stencil with pale yellow ink to create a background that coordinates perfectly with the mug theme!

For the sentiment she stamped "kit tea cat" from the Newton's Mug Stamp Set onto a circle that was cut out using our Frames Squared Die Set. Then she cut out a banner using our Banner Trio Die Set and stamped "you are loved" onto it using our Heartfelt Essentials Stamp Set

Here is a close-up of that beautiful mug:

Wishing You a Beautiful Day Card by Ellen Haxelmans

Butterfly Hello Card by Ellen Haxelmans | Monarchs Stamp Set, Essential Alphabet and Framework Die Set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook #handmade

A Beautiful Butterfly Hello!

Today Ellen has created a lovely butterfly card that is perfect for sending a happy hello to a friend! She featured butterflies stamped from our Monarchs Stamp Set in bright pink ink. These fun bright butterflies are so pretty when they are layered over several layers of neutral colored patterned papers. Butterfly Hello Card by Ellen Haxelmans | Monarchs Stamp Set, Essential Alphabet and Framework Die Set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook #handmadeShe also used our Framework Die Set to to create some of the paper layers and added the "hi" for a touch of sparkle using letters from our Essential Alphabet Die Set. What a beautiful combination of elements!

How to create this card:

Below we have some instructions from Ellen on how to create this card.

I scraplifted a card from Shimelle Laine. Here is how I made it…

Butterfly Hello Card by Ellen Haxelmans | Monarchs Stamp Set, Essential Alphabet and Framework Die Set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook #handmade
  1. (left photo) I die cut out one rectangular piece and inked the sides of the paper. After that I die cut out two frames from old pattern paper using the Framework Die Set.

  2. (center photo) Afterwards I stamped the sentiment on the label. For that I used gold embossing powder. The word “Hi” is cut out from glitter paper and the Essential Alphabet Die Set.

  3. (right photo) As last step I stamped the butterflies from the Monarchs Stamp Set and die cut them with the Monarchs Die Set. The inner portion of the wing I colored with soft pink Copic Markers.
We hope you enjoyed this fun project today and instructions from Ellen! To see more unique creations by Ellen, you can visit her over at her blog Crafty Ellen!
