Have a Meowy Christmas!

Hello! Jen here today and I'm sharing with you some adorable kitty cards I created featuring our Card Layout 5 Die and our Christmas Party Paper Pad.

To create my cards I started by picking out a few pieces of patterned paper from our Christmas Party Paper Pad. I cut them all out using the Card Layout 5 Die. I also chose a few pieces of solid colored cardstock that matched the paper colors and cut them out with the same die set. Now I had lots of options on how to combine the pieces. 

For my first card I mixed and matched several of the different patterns together with a mint green frame.

For this card I chose the image from our Newton's Gift Stamp Set. This image has a blank tag on the front of the gift and a bunch of different sentiments that fit inside! It's perfect for creating a custom message for your card. For mine I chose "Fa la la la MEOW!" So cute! I colored the image with watercolor markers and cut it out using the Newton's Gift Die Set. and then layered it onto the card over a circle cut out with vellum using our Circle Frames Die Set.  

For my next card I used more of the pieces that I had die cut with the  Card Layout 5 Die. I used pink cardstock for the outer frame edge and layered the whole thing onto a red card base. 

The image on this card is from our Newton's Stocking Stamp Set. This set has an empty stocking that you can customize the sentiment on. I chose "Santa PAWS is coming!" and then colored the image with watercolor markers. I cut the image out using the Newton's Stocking Die Set and added it to the center of the card. 

Last, I created one more card using pieces I had left from what I had cut out using the Card Layout 5 Die  

For this card I used a light green frame and mixed in the solid green pieces along with the pink trees and stripes. For the image used the cozy image of the kitty and puppy in a chair from our Christmas Nap Stamp Set. I colored the image using watercolor markers and cut it out with the Christmas Nap Die Set. I embossed the sentiment onto a banner that was cut out using our Frames & Flags Die Set. 

I hope my projects today have shown you how easy it is to make a bunch of cards using the Card Layout 5 Die. Once you cut it out a few times you have a bunch of pieces you can mix and match to make a variety of fun cards. Just add an image to the center and your card is done! So easy! I still have a few pieces left over after I made these three cards. I store my extra pieces in a ziploc bag and then I have them ready to go the next time I have some creative time!

Make a Wish Birthday Card by Donna Idlet

Make a Wish! 

Today we are taking a break from holiday cards to share a lovely birthday card by Donna! This card features our Gift Builder Die Set along with some of our Frames & Tags Die Set and birthday stamps and paper!

Donna used our Frames & Tags Die Set with navy blue paper and cut out the large frame and the smaller inner frame with windows using navy blue paper. She then used fun patterns Birthday Time Paper Pad and cut them out using our Frames & Tags Die Set for the birthday patterns inside the frame. 

For the birthday message she chose sentiments from our Birthday Essentials Stamp Set. She stamped the "make a wish" onto a stitched rectangle from our Basic Frames Die Set. 

Last, she added the adorable gift using our Gift Builder Die Set. She used a striped paper from our Birthday Time Paper Pad along with pink cardstock for the ribbon and bow. 

This birthday card would be perfect for a birthday any time of year! We love how the die cut birthday gift goes perfectly with the paper!

Snowy Die Cut Card by Amanda Wilcox

Let it snow!

Today we are sharing TWO fun techniques using our Let it Snow and Snowfall die sets by Amanda. 

First, Amanda created a scallop edged panel using our Frames & Flags Die Set. She covered the panel in splatters of blue, grey and white. She also striped background by cutting out strips of paper in shades of blue and light teal and adhering them to a second panel. She used both of the pieces with her first die cutting technique.

Die cutting technique 1:

Amanda chose three snowflakes and their shadow (background layer) from our new Snowfall Die Set.  She decided where she wanted the snowflakes to appear on her card. Then she used the outer shadow dies for the snowflakes and cut them directly from the white scalloped panel. She also cut the snowflakes from white cardstock and set them aside. Then she layered everything together. She added the white panel on top so that the stripes showed through the openings of the snowflake shadows. Next, she adhered the snowflakes inside each matching opening from the top layer.  What a fun and unique way to use the layered snowflakes in the Snowfall Die Set.

Die cutting technique 2:

She created the message using our Let it Snow Die Set. She cut the message out three times using different shades of blue and light teal paper. She then glued them together, placing them just slightly offset so that you can see all three colors.What a fun way to use your sentiment dies! 

This beautiful card really shows some fun ways to use die cuts on your cards! I hope you will give them a try and discover how versatile die cutting can be!

Merry Cocktail Card by Samantha Mann

Merry Little Cocktails!

Celebrate the season with a merry little cocktail! Today Samantha has created an adorable holiday card featuring our Christmas Cocktails Stamp Set and Plaid Stencil Set. 

Samantha stamped all the cocktails from our Christmas Cocktails Stamp Set. Isn't it cute how they all have Christmas elements on the garnishes and stir sticks? She colored the glasses using alcohol markers in a soft rainbow of colors. 

For her card she masked off the bottom of the card and inked the top using pink and peach distress inks. Then she added the plaid pattern over the top using our Plaid Stencil Set. This stencil set has two pieces that you can overlap and ink with two colors for a two color plaid but on this card she used white paste on both of the layers and that has a beautiful effect too! 

She removed her masking tape and added the cocktail glasses along the bottom edge of the inked area using dimensional adhesives to pop them up. The finishing touch is the sentiment "have yourself a merry little cocktail." She embossed the message onto black cardstock with white embossign powder and fussy cut it out by hand before adding it to her card. 

We love the festive cheer this holiday card has! It would be perfect for an invite to a holiday happy hour too!
