Get Well Kitty Cards!

Hello! Jen here today. I realized that didn't have very many get well cards in my stash so I decided to make a few and today I'm sharing 3 sweet kitty themed cards that are purr-fect for sending get well wishes.

I started by stamping images from our Newton's Sick Day Stamp Set. The kitty with the blanket and thermometer in his mouth is so cute, isn't he? I colored the image using alcohol markers. On the blanket I colored it green and then used the colorless blender to remove color for lighter stripes. I also added some darker green and blue to for several colors of stripes. This turned out so cute! I cut the image out using the coordinating Newton's Sick Day Die Set and then mounted it on a white circle that was cut out using our Circle Frames Die Set. I added the sentiment "hope you're feline better soon!" from the Newton's Sick Day Stamp Set onto the circle.

For the background I used yellow dot and green gingham patterned papers from our Autumn Paper Pad and added in the bright blue striped paper from our Coffee House Stories Paper Pad. The trio of prints is framed with a postage edged frame, die cut using our Framework Die Set.  A few sequins in coordinating colors finish off the card.

I made a second card using the exact same image from the Newton's Sick Day Stamp Set. This time I colored the blanket blue with alcohol markers and used the same technique as above with the colorless blender to remove ink. This time I created dots. I also added in some dark blue and yellow dots too.  Again, I used the  coordinating Newton's Sick Day Die Set to cut out the image and a white circle that was cut out using our Circle Frames Die Set with the same sentiment as above.

The last card I created uses a different stamp and layout. This time I used the image of the kitty with the bowl of soup from the Newton's Sick Day Stamp Set

I kept with a similar color theme as the other two cards, using blues and greens with a gray kitty. I cut the image out using the coordinating Newton's Sick Day Die Set. Then I cut out a decorative square using our Frames Squared Die Set. I used distress inks on the square to color it so that it matched the bowl. I also added the sentiment in the upper right corner of the decorative square shape.

For this card I used our Bokeh Stencil Set to create a background of cheerful yellow dots. This set has two layers that can be combined for a bokeh effect but you can use just one of the layers by itself to create fun dots, which is what I did here. I added a bit of white cotton twine and then mounted it onto a green cardstock base to match the green on the soup bowl.

I had so much fun creating this trio of get well cards. I hope they bring the recipients some cheer! I hope you enjoyed this inspiration today!
