Retiring Products Feature Week - Day 1 - Samantha Mann & Maria Russell

All week our design team will be sharing inspiration using some of their favorite products from our retiring list and we are starting the week out with projects today by Samantha and Maria!

 Samantha created an out of this world card featuring the our retiring Cosmic Newton Stamp Set. 

Newton is rocketing in to the sky in his spaceship on this adorable card. She added in a gorgeous starry sky using our Cascading Stars Stencil and layers of clouds with our Sky Borders Die Set. The custom sentiment "MEOWT of this world" was created by cutting out letters with our Essential Alphabet Die Set to pair with the sentiment from the Cosmic Newton Stamp Set. So fun and creative! Detailed product list below.

Next, Maria created a beautiful card featuring our retiring Happy Little Thoughts Stamp Set. 

Maria created a fun shaker card, framing the shaker window with that beautiful floral wreath.  She added in a bow on the bottom using our Baby Bibs Die Set. The background layers were die cut using our Frames & Flags Die Set with white cardstock and a patterned paper from our Love & Meows Paper Pad. Detailed product list below.

Sea You at the Beach Card by February Guest Designer Jennifer Ingle

Hello, friends! This is Jennifer Ingle here again with a card I'm hoping makes you feel the warmth of the sun just a little bit. Living in a coastal town just south of Boston means I see a lot of winter. Around this time of year, I tend to start dreaming of glorious beach days in the warm sunshine with my toes in the sand and a cool drink in my hand. I had to pull out the Summer Moments Stamp Set and coordinating die set to bring me there!

I stamped my image and colored it entirely in grey scale as I knew I wanted that gorgeous Retro Sun & Palms Stencil to shine as the background of the card. I love how cool this image looks in black and white against that beautiful warm toned sunset.

I used ink blending brushes along with the stencil to create the sunshine with yellows, oranges, and a pinky sort of red tone. The sentiment is stamped directly over the ink blending in black in to make it really pop.

Sigh... those beach days will be here soon enough. And for now, I guess I'll try to enjoy the snow!

You are Amazing Shaker Card by Larissa Heskett

 

Amazing Shaker! 

Today we are sharing a large shaker card by Larissa that is filled with fun! 

For this card she used the large scalloped frame from our new A7 Frames & Banners Die Set. This frame is perfectly sized to fit on a 5x7 card base. She used the die to cut out that fun houndstooth pattern from our Love & Meows Paper Pad. Then she layered her shaker panel over the top, filled with confetti hearts, sequins and "xoxo" letters. How fun! The background of this fun panel is also filled with hearts, stenciled in teal using our Petite Hearts Stencil. To finish it off, she added the sentiment "You are amazing" from our Floral Rounabout Stamp Set, embossed in teal onto the rounded banner shape from the A7 Frames & Banners Die Set. 

What a gorgeous card! And I bet it's super fun to shake around too!

You're All I Knead Card by Donna Idlet

Knead Kittens!!

Today Donna has created an adorable love filled kitty card to share! Anyone who has cats know they love to knead, so this image of the kitty kneading a blanket from our new Knead Kittens Stamp Set is sure to steal your heart! She colored the image in soft neutral colors and cut it out using the coordinating Knead Kittens Die Set.

For her card, she used a black cardstock base and added layers of heart and stripe patterns using the prints from our new Love & Meows Paper Pad. She then used our Heart Frames Die Set to cut out a large pink scallop edged heart and a smaller gray heart. These make the perfect spot to layer on that kitty image. She also stamped the sentiment "you're ALL I knead" onto the gray heart and added in a couple of sparkly heart gems. So adorable! 

This card is sure to make any kitty lover smile!

Birthday Wishes Card by Tina Herbeck

Ochids for a Happy Birthday!

Today Tina has created an elegant birthday card featuring the pretty blooms from our new Orchids Stamp Set. 

For this beautiful card, she started out by coloring the image of orchids using shades of pink and purple, leaving the edges white for a delicate and pretty bloom. The image was cut out using the coordinating Orchids Die Set. 

For the card base, she chose inks that coordinated with the colors she had used on the flower  along with some gold metallics and made a fun inked background. The fun postage edge was added to this panel using our Framework Die Set. She layered the floral image over the background and layered the whole panel over some coordinating light purple cardstock. The sentiment stamped along the top is from our Heartfelt Blooms Stamp Set.

This card is so simple and elegant! You could easily change the occasion of the card simply by changing the sentiment too! What a great way to add cards to your collection!

Orchid Card Duo by Zsofia Molnar

Orchid Cards in Two Color Combos!

Today we are sharing a beautiful duo of orchid cards Zsofia featuring our lovely Orchids Stamp Set. Both are so lovely it will be hard to choose a favorite!

For her first card, she colored the orchid from the Orchids Stamp Set in shades of blue with yellow and orange center. The image was cut out using the coordinating Orchids Die Set. For her card she created a subtle heart pattern over a white card base using our Petite Hearts Stencil. Then She added a rectangle cut from vellum using our Frames & Flags Die Set and layered the orchid image over the top with a blue oval frame. She added the sentiment into a banner, also from the Frames & Flags Die Set.

For her second card, she colored the same orchid image from the Orchids Stamp Set but this time used purples with yellow and orange in the center. The image was again cut out using the coordinating Orchids Die Set. She created another heart patterned base over a white card using our Petite Hearts Stencil. Then She added ovals and layered the orchid image over the top. She added the Happy Birthday sentiment from the Heartfelt Blooms Stamp Set into a banner from the A7 Frames & Banners Die Set. 

So gorgeous! Which color orchid is your favorite? There are so many beautiful options and that's what makes this unique stamp so fun to color and customize!

Robot Dog Valentine Card by February Guest Designer Jennifer Ingle

Today we are introducing our Guest Designer for February, Jennifer Ingle from Just Jingle!  You might remember Jennifer as she was on our Design Team several years ago and we are thrilled to have her back as a guest! We can't wait to see what she creates! Keep reading on to hear more about her and view her first project today!

My name is Jennifer Ingle, also known as Jingle! I have a wonderful husband, an absolutely beautiful two and a half year old son, and two amazing pups, all of whom support my crafting wonderfully. Well, okay, the dogs will eat paper if I'm not careful, but, they do their best. ;) I have been crafting since I was a small child and it has simply transformed into different creative forms over the years. I started scrapbooking about 25 years ago and that evolved into card making, which is my absolute favorite! I am so excited to be back designing for Newton's Nook again! Jen creates such amazing products and I absolutely love them!

Hello, folks! This is Jennifer Ingle here and I am so very excited to be guest designing this month here at Newton's Nook Designs! Today I have a super fun Valentine's Day card to share with you.

I was going for an old school 'kids' Valentine kind of feel and I had so much fun with it. I used the amazing patterned papers in the Love & Meows Paper Pad as my starting point. The grey paw print was a perfect backdrop for that adorable robot doggy! Also... you GUYS! Robot DOG!!!! I can't even. I love it so much. He's from the new Love Bots Stamp Set and coordinating Love Bots Die Set!

I colored the stamped image in greys and pinks and popped him up for some fun dimension. I stamped the heart in red before die cutting and also adhered that with foam tape. The sentiment is stamped, embossed, and then trimmed into a simple banner to ground out the design. This stamp set is already on my favorites of all time list, man! It is just TOO CUTE!
