Newton's Nook Designs 3 year Celebration Blog Hop!

Newton’s Nook Designs is so excited to be celebrating our THREE Year Anniversary - WOW - THREE whole years of getting our paws inky!

I remember how excited I was when our first four sets came in the mail over three years ago! (see photo below) - Now we have 133 products in our shop! It's been an Incredible journey so far- filled with happiness, stress, lots of excitement and very little sleep! Here are a few behind the scenes photos from this last year of Jeff and I and our little helpers, Newton and Hobbes!

We want to take a minute to say THANK YOU to all our fans, designers and customers who helped make it happen! We are so happy to be here and we can't wait to see what the next year brings!

Since every stop on the hop is sharing cards made with our new release I made a couple cards too! I LOVE all the sets in the release this month but the Paradise Palms set is SO easy and fun to play with so I decided to use that for my cards!

Did you know I created this set by painting the the palm with watercolors? I then scanned in my paintings and did some "magic" to them to convert them into stamps! I love how this gives them a really unique, uneven look! The imperfections add to the appeal!

I created two simple cards by masking off areas of the white card base and then sponging ink to create sunsets. Then I stamped over the inked area with the palm trees and added in the sentiments. Then I added some colored epoxy dots  and twine to add a bit more detail. It would be so easy to make a stack of cards like this - they are so easy and look beautiful every time!!

July Reveal - Day 4 - Aloha Newton and Hibiscus Die

Our favorite feline, Newton, is taking a summer vacation to the islands! This adorable 4 x 6 stamp set is features Newton relaxing in the tropics. Yukari created this adorable card with the kitty playing the ukulele on the beach from the Aloha Newton stamp set! She also added in a big bloom using the new Hibiscus die set. 

This stunning Hibiscus card by Samantha uses our new Hibiscus die set. Check out that striped leaf! She added in the "Mahalo" from the Aloha Newton stamp set.

Kimberly created a trio of pretty blooms using the new Hibiscus die set. They make the perfect spot for the kitty from the Aloha Newton stamp set  to play his little ukulele. 

Newton looks so cozy in his hammock on the beach in this card by Stephanie. The cute kitty image and the sentiment are from the new Aloha Newton stamp set. 

Naki created a ton of pretty blooms on her card using the Hibiscus die set! What a beautiful card! 

Danielle created this amazing card with the Aloha Newton stamp set! I love how the card folds to show off Newton playing his ukulele. She also added in a tiki face from the Tiki Time stamp set and used the tops of the pineapple from the Pineapple Delights to create grass! So creative!

Lydia created this adorable clean and simple card using the image of Newton playing in the flowers from the Aloha Newton stamp set! I love how the bright colors pop off the white card base! 

This duo of adorable Hawaii cards is by Jess! She created the same design in two coordinating colors to make a little set of notecards using the "Aloha" from the Aloha Newton stamp set and the created the flowers with the new Hibiscus die set!

Larissa created such a cute little scene with Newton and his ukulele from the Aloha Newton stamp set. Isn't it cool how she added pretty stripes the the kitty?

This beautiful clean and simple card is by Crafty Math-Chick. She created a gorgeous ombre for the background and then added a black die cut hibiscus using the new Hibiscus die set. She also added in the "Mahalo" sentiment from the Aloha Newton stamp set.

July Reveal - Reveal Day 3 - Paradise Palms

Today is our third reveal day for our July Release and we are featuring our new stamp set, Paradise Palms! We are giving a $20 store credit to one lucky winner today too so make sure you read all the way to the bottom of this post to see how to win!

Paradise Palms stamp set

You can create your own beautiful beach scene with this 4 x 6 stamp set. This set gives you the look of watercolor using stamp and ink. The images were watercolored by hand and then converted into stamps to give you that soft, painted feel. They will be perfect for creating beach sunsets and work great with both solid and ombré inks! If you like the style of this set, make sure to check out our Whispering Pines stamp set that was created in the same style.

Stephanie used multiple colors on her stamp to create this awesome card! I love the soft beachy feel it has! 

Jess created an amazing sunset card! I love the wash of ombre sky behind the tree silhouettes! 

Kimberly created an amazing sunset scene in the window shape of her card and added tiny embossed palms on the black around it. Such a fun technique!!

Another awesome sunset card! This one by Crafty Math-Chick uses a fun rainbow ombre with the palm trees in front! She also used the "Mahalo" sentiment which is in another of our new sets and will be part of our final reveals tomorrow! 

Samantha created a wonderful heart shaped sunset! I love the way she used the heart die from our Darling Hearts die set to create her sunset and gold embossed the new Palm tree images over it! 

Danielle created a fun teal and blue beachy sky scene ! I love the fun gold embossing and polka dots too! 

Lydia created a fun circle sunset with intense pinks and purples I love how the white embossed sentiment pops off it! 

This gorgeous sunset card is by Yukari. The intense orange and yellow is so pretty - I would love to be sitting on that beach right now!  

Naki created this awesome scene with the palm silhouettes in the front of some water and big sun rays! It reminds me of a something cool you'd see on a surfboard! So fun! 

One last amazing card today - this beautiful sunset shaker card is by Larissa. Don't you love how the sequins look like waves?

July Release - Reveal Day 2 - Party Pops, Pineapple Delight and Tiki Time!

Today is our second reveal day for our July Release and we are featuring THREE new stamp sets today: Party Pops, Pineapple Delight and Tiki Time! All three sets have coordinating dies too! We are giving a $20 store credit to one lucky winner today too so make sure you read all the way to the bottom of this post to see how to win!

This Tiki-riffic card by Larissa uses our new Tiki Time stamp set and coordinating die set! She embossed three tiki faces and made them into drink glasses with umbrellas and flowers! The added hibiscus flowers below really make it look so fun and tropical! 

Naki used our new Party Pops stamp and coordinating die set for this adorable card! I love how she dressed up the popsicles, adding chocolate to one and sunglasses to another! So fun!

I love all the pretty pastel popsicles on this card by Yukari! She used our new Party Pops stamp set to create this yummy card! I love the way she lined up the oval in the center with the pattern and raised to to add the sentiment! 

Stephanie created this sweet pineapple card! I love the soft colors and the sentiment on the woodgrain panel. She used the Pineapple Delights stamp set and coordinating die set. 

This card by Jess uses our new Tiki Time stamp set and coordinating die set. I love how she embossed the tiki faces on black to create a fun background and then added a neon colored tiki drink in the foreground! So fun!
